Someday Elizabeth hopes to visit the castles of Scotland and England personally. However, she has been to the jungles of Peru and Machu Picchu which inspired her novels, Curse of the Condor and Bistro Bachelor.
This was a fast paced tale full of action, that will keep you wondering what will happen next. I did feel for Echo, given the father she had and her rough upbringing and especially as she tried to fit in to life in a castle. My feelings on Garrett were a little mixed, he wasn’t above using Echo for his own ends and even seemed to look down on her at times. However, he did redeem himself in the end.
Lady of the Mist is the fourth book in the Legacy of the Blade series. It can be read as a standalone book, but it will be better and more enjoyable if the other books are read first.
This has to be my favourite of the series because I love a good swashbuckling pirate story. Much of this, Echo's story, takes place at sea, and I loved every minute of it.
Echo has been brought up by an infamous pirate who treats her as the son he had wanted. He isn't pleased that he is stuck with a daughter, but he does his best to treat her like one of the lads.
Garret is the newly appointed Baron of the Cinque Ports Fleet. He is charged with keeping the channel free of pirates. It's in this capacity that he comes across Echo on board their pirate ship.
Echo and Garret are both very likeable characters. There is an instant attraction between them despite the circumstances in which they meet. Their budding romance was believable, and the bedroom scenes were 'HOT'. The onboard fighting scenes were amazing and described so well, I could picture myself on deck watching it all.
I had to listen to this book in one sitting because it was too exciting to turn off. I wanted to find out how it would end and wasn't prepared to wait! The narration was excellent, although the female voices weren't the best I've heard a male narrator perform.
Echo is a pirate and the only girl on board. Her father is the captain of the Seahawk. Garrrett is a Baron and captain of a ship for the King. Fighting the pirates he was captured. Later he and Echo escaped. Echo has a son four years old. A prisoner and she coupled once and then her father killed him. The child was on land being taken care of. The father of the child was Garrett’s brother. They retrieved the boy and went to his holdings. Garrett tricked Echo into marriage. They fell in love but later Echo was captured and back on the ship. Garrett went to save her but all the pirates were captured by another ship and were sentenced to hang. Garrett had Echo’s necklace and realized she was kidnapped as a baby and was a Nobel. After proving it in court she was spared.
I listened to the audiobook of this story. Again great narration and the final book in this series. We met Garrett in the last book, Lord of Illusion, he is now the baron of the Cinque Ports. He makes sure the seas are secure from pirates. On one of his trips, he comes across one of the pirate ships and is captured. He encounters a young pirate on board and quickly realized that it is not a lad, but a lady. Echo, is the daughter of the pirate Captain Powell. She helps him escape, but they get stranded on a island. His crew located them, but he tries to hide the fact she is a pirate and that she is the widow of his brother. He tries to get her to become a lady, but that is a tall task. Follow their journey, on land and on sea and their final voyage together. Great series.
*3½ Stars* The final piece of the familial puzzle is put into place for the Blake siblings. Garrett is off on his adventure, being named Baron of the Cinque Ports Fleet for the King, after having been saved by Madoc (Blake sibling #3, one of the twins) in the last book. Garrett is set on defeating the pirates causing their fleet trouble, and ends up being captured... in more ways than one. Echo is not your typical pirate, nor does she act a lady, but she and Garrett are set on their own whirlwind adventure to discover not only their love, but their life. The narration isn't my favorite- I like Kevin's voice well enough, until he does a woman or child, then I'm not a fan (sorry!). As always, please use headphones for the bedroom scenes if children are present 😉
I loved the final book in this series. Echo and Garrett's story brings this story of lost and stolen children to a close with more action. Echo is the final missing sibling, raised by Pirates so there is action aplenty. The characters are interesting and very likeable so it's way too easy to get drawn into the story. I had the audio version which was narrated very well by the same person in each book which was appealing to me. Loved it.
I enjoyed reading this intriguing romance story of mystery and action that is well written with beguiling and witty main characters also wonderful sub characters. Their story has a wonderful HEA. A strong woman who could change, that came alive on the pages. Sea battles written that you can actually visualize. I love how echo is a bit rough around the edges and isn’t very ladylike at the start but she does try her best.
Echo the twin sister of Madoc is the lady in the movie sits. She has been raised as a pirate, though she is of noble birth. Garrett is Abigail’s brother. He is looking for the pirate that left him with a scar along his face from his ear down. Fate takes a hand and the lady pirate and nobleman find each other.
Garret- A Barron of the cinque port out for revenge to the pirate that scared his face. Echo- the pirate captains daughter, and loves birds. I enjoyed reading this intriguing romance story of mystery and action that is well written with beguiling and witty main characters also wonderful sub characters. Their story has a wonderful HEA! Narrated by Kevin E Green who did a great job of telling the story!
I chose this book as it is the 4th in the series. I absolutely loved getting to know all the characters and places. HEA are a must for me and it was great that this book included all the siblings and their spouses and children. Elizabeth Rose also writes little hints for us to follow on into her next series. Just love this.
Echo and her twin brother were stolen as babies by pirates. She was never told of her noble birth but instead is raised as a pirate. When her pirate ship is attacked by the King's men, she escapes with one them and is married to him immediately. Let the games begin when he finds out she has a son who was fathered by his brother. I loved this adventure by MS Rose.
What happens when a woman raised as a pirate suddenly finds herself married to a Baron? You have one foul mouthed fighting lady that has to learn some manners pretty quickly! Read this book for a fun adventure!
I love this last book as well all the others. It's a shame the saga of this family ended. I'd love to know what happens to the children of those heroines and their husbands. Mrs Rose maybe you get inspired and give us more. Thank you
At last the final sibling is found and brought back to the family! This was my favorite book in the series. Echo is a lovely character, and it was wonderful to see a happy ending for Garrett (brother of Abby, who we met in the previous book).
I liked it ,I wasn’t a fan of echo though. Not exactly sure what it was about her but the storyline itself was pretty good . I do like how other characters from previous books make an appearance in the story as well . Glad to see they got their happy ending
Echo is raised as a pirate but when she meets Sir Garrett nothing will ever be the same. If she's willing to take the chance she could live a life she never dreamed of.
This series is well written and keeps the readers attention. All four books are well worth your time. The characters are realistic and believable . The subject of separated siblings at birth is handled well. Thank you Elizabeth Rose.
Such a fun read! This was one of my favorite in this series. It was exciting and just plain funny to read all of Echo's pirate activities and how she tries to become a lady.
Ahha! Matey! Our heroine believes she has been fathered by a pirate but yearns for a life, home, family on land. See how it plays out in this book.
Searching for the pirate who scared his face Garrett finds the truth about his lost brother. Learning more than he anticipated he learns to love a crusty woman who doesn't even know her own lineage. Adventure at every turn of the page!
