Supernova is a standalone enemies-to-lovers, forced proximity, redemptive love story told from Nova’s point-of-view that is a continuation of the Fallen Legacies world intended to be read after Unleashing Fire . Three months ago monsters breached the barrier between realms and poured from the spirit world into the mortal one, intent on enslaving humankind and angel-born alike. The world is a different place and all I want is to manifest my angelic powers and fight beside the other Nephilim warriors, but when I find myself stranded on a deserted island with Thorne—public enemy number one—I may not live long enough to see that happen. Even though Thorne helped us defeat his evil mother and stop the Fallen from spreading beyond London, he’s still a ruthless killer who almost brought upon the apocalypse. He may be the most attractive guy I’ve ever met, but he’s definitely the last one I should ever fall for. I always thought there were lines I would never cross, but I’m learning just how wrong I was.

And this guys, is my favorite Julie Hall book. I’ve read two of her series and loved every single book. But this one?! This one is a dream come true for this enemies to lovers, nephilim, forced proximity aficionados… me, I’m talking about me 😂
I’ve always had a soft spot for the bad guy turned good guy. So, no surprise here: I was hoping for a Thorne redemption story. And Nova was the girl I didn’t want to like in Fallen Legacies but somehow ended up loving by the end of the series. The love only, you know, quintupled. I want to be her when I grow up. 👀
I was also very happy to see a specific character’s demise because he’s been shady since we met him. I’ll let you discover and savor it 😏
The cherry on top? The whole gang reuniting. It’s happening people. Let’s keep calm… but it’s happening 😎
This book is perfect for those who love: 🖤enemies to lovers 🖤forced proximity 🖤you touch her, you d*e 🖤angels and nephilim 🖤soul-bounded mates
YA. 5 stars ⭐️ Thank you so much for this ARC 🥹😭
This book releases next week and you MUST read it as soon as it is out in the world. 🤌🏼
I was SO LUCKY to receive an ARC of this book and I could not put it down! I love Nova and Thorne and seeing them navigate these complicated and unexpected new adventures was a pure joy! Plus some new faces join with our usual favs to help complete a mission and the twists and turns never disappoint! See relationships change, tension build, and more, on this wild ride of a spin off from the Fallen Legacies Series—so good!
"You're not perfect and neither am I, but it seems like we might be perfect for each other."
You don't want to miss this action-packed YA urban fantasy romance with enemies-to-lovers, forced proximity, fated mate, strong FMC and redemption arc for the villain!!
Gorgeous writing style, well crafted storyline, short chapters and good pacing makes this book so hard to put down! It's good to be back to this fascinating world building of Nephilims and angels and with my favorite characters as well, especially the twin brothers!
The slow burn enemies-to-lovers romance between the main characters (Nova and Thorne) is my favorite part of the story. They have a good chemistry with each other; how they slowly open up to each other, the heated tension, the sweet and the angsty moments between the two of them, oh I absolutely adore them!🥰
The author did a great job in writing how the villain try to redeem himself, I finally got to know the background story of Thorne and it was heart breaking. He's in need of help especially with all these new emotions he's feeling with Nova..
“You consume me - mind, body and soul… and I hate it.”
If you've read lots of fantasy romance books, you might find this one a bit predictable but for me I still enjoy the flow of the story until the end because I just love the romance and the characters!
Overall, this is a fantastic spinoff from the Fallen Legacies series🥰 I've been waiting for Nova's book and I'm satisfied with Nova and Thorne story. I'm really looking forward to read more books from this author in the future!
I received an advanced review copy for free from Julie Hall and BOMM tour, I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Supernova is the spinoff book in the Legacies series and it's Thorne and Nova’s story. This is an enemies-to-lovers/forced proximity/fantasy romance that took us on quite an adventure and it's without a doubt my favorite book in the series. As the villain in the earlier books I was curious to see how the author would redeem Thorne and I was not disappointed. I loved the back and forth banter between him and Nova. The chemistry, the tension and the angsty moments between them were some of my favorite parts and I loved seeing how their relationship changed the more time they spent together. This story was well paced and expertly crafted making me unable to put it down. There was action, redemption, humor and romance in the novel. The author added an element of mystery/suspense to the story and it had me frantically turning the pages to know more and I was hooked until the end. Fast paced and action packed with incredible world building this was an epic read and I would highly recommend it to fantasy romance.
Oh my goodness! Words cannot describe this feeling after finishing Supernova. I am so fortunate enough to have received an arc and let me just say. I now have a top read of October! I don’t want to spoil too much, but I will say this! Readers…. You are in for the ride of a lifetime!! I am still reeling from that epic conclusion!! I hope that Julie writes more novels from Novas perspective!!!!
I’ve been eager to read more about Nova and Thorne and find out what seemed to be happening between them and this spin-off from the Fallen Legacies series went beyond expectations! They are such interesting characters and I’m a sucker for a former “evil” character redeeming himself. More than just a spin-off, I’m glad to know more about what happened in the aftermath of book 3. I’d say I’m satisfied, but I want more!
“You’re not perfect and neither am I, but it seems like we might be perfect for each other”
Supernova is a return to the fallen legacy world- the other three books should be read before this book since it will introduce the characters, what happened and let you know how they act around each other.
I absolutely loved Thorne ever since he was first introduced so I am happy he was a main character in this novel, and we got to know about him more. I always felt like he was more than just a “villain” and I am so glad he returned with a redemption story. I also loved seeing Nova come into herself- in the other books she can be seen as uncaring at times, and I loved getting to know her more in depth. Both characters were very reluctant about each other in the beginning, so it was wonderful to see their love and chemistry get more intense as they spent more time together.
There was so much action and so many twist and turns in this novel that it kept me very entertained. If you’re a fan of enemies to lovers, forced proximity, touch her and die tropes you should definitely read all the books in the series so far! Now that we had a book with Nova, I hope we can get a spotlight book with Ash and the twins: Greyson and Sterling- I would love more from this world and group of friends.
A special thank you to the author and book of matches media for an ARC of this book, I truly loved this series, and I am so glad to have been apart of this fallen legacies journey!
Supernova By Julie Hall Book 4 in the Fallen Legacies series Rating: 4/5
As someone who has read and enjoyed the first three books in the series, I was excited that the author decided to write a story just for Nova and Thorne. I loved every moment. Such a great story that was packed with action, romance, humor and redemption! You will swoon, laugh and cheer on the main characters as they seek for truth about what is really happening. They will also employ the help of some familiar friends and I was excited to see their progression too. I really would love to read more in this fascinating world.
P.S. Cleo was a favorite.
PG-13 for violence. No sex scenes.
Highly recommend if you enjoy clean urban fantasy with romance, humor and lots of action with a feisty and strong female lead and morally gray male lead.
My thanks to the author and publisher for providing me with an ARC of the book. All opinions expressed here are entirely my own. No positive review was expected and no compensation received.
It's no secret that I love Julie Hall's books but this one is a must-read! I absolutely adored Nova and Thorne's story! Supernova is fast-paced, action-packed, and filled with swoonworthy, highlightable moments.
Nova is a sassy leading lady - full of wit and determined to prove herself as a capable angel warrior. Thorne is broken and ready to come to terms with his past misdeeds. Both undergo tremendous personal growth throughout their journey together. Plus, I love a good redemption arc. Thorne was a likeable villain but even more so as a good guy.
I really enjoyed seeing the crew back from the first books. However, if you haven't read the series recently, this book won't be hard to follow. Cleo is a new favorite companion - I mean have you seen the pictures? I'm a little jealous 😂.
Although the ending was a satisfying rollercoaster of emotions, I'm really hoping there's more to this series! I can't get enough of this world and these characters!
You'd enjoy this book if you like: ✔️ Strong FMC ✔️ Enemies to lovers ✔️ Forced proximity ✔️ Angels / Nephilim ✔️ Redemption ✔️ Soul-bonded mates ✔️ Low spice ✔️ HEA 🥰

"I was once a force to be reckoned with, but I’m no longer just a shining star, I’m a supernova, a stellar explosion that will take out anything in my path, and I like it."
There's something entirely too satisfying about having the book title in a powerful quote 💜 - sorry if I spoiled it for anyone 😅 🤷♀️
Beautiful return to this world and these awesome characters. This is a standalone book but really needs to be read after Emberlys story to truly understand what it going on.
Nova is an Angel-born warrior fighting against the forsaken and the fallen when she is suddenly called back to Seraph Academy. However, there are plans and deception put in place that makes her return impossible. Thorne is the twisted bad guy who started then helped stop the world from basically ending. He has been imprisoned for his crimes but not for much longer. Now that Nova and Thorne have collided they can’t seem to separate. The tension is high, and for Nova, completely unwanted and with a lot of guilt.
I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know more about Thorne and his past. We get to see why he became what he did and what set him on the path he took. For Nova, we see into her heart and mind. I was happy to see familiar faces show up and hear a little about what they are up to as well. The only thing I wish we could have seen was some of the story from Thornes perspective since he is such an interesting character. However, the storyline was very good and the connection to each character was easy. I hope we will be seeing more in this world in the future.
This book gutted me!!! Who knew I.could fall so hard for the bas guy? I mean I love Steel but there were times I wanted to ring his neck for treating Thorne so bad. And then there is Nova, the arrogant girl who only cares about herself. I never cared much for her because she was just a supporting character. However, I really loved her after this book. And she gets a cool spirit bonded animal. After she goes through metamorphosis she gets amazing powers. Julie you made me cry a few times in this book. I don't cry over a book easily! This book had a roller coaster of emotions for me & in my opinion those are the best kind. I loved this series but I don't remember crying over Steel & Emberly except when they got engaged. You have to read this book! I promise you won't regret it. Oh how can I forget the hilarious scenes when Sterling & Greyson went through their metamorphosis. Julie please consider doing more in this world! Maybe after they graduate?
A slower burn than the original series, but well worth it. Despite starting off with quite a bit of action, this standalone... sequel? Spinoff? moves a bit slower in terms of pacing. It's a bit more dialogue-heavy, I felt. But considering the two leads are walking sass-machines, that actually works to the book's benefit. The flirtatious banter was probably the most enjoyable part and kept me switching between steamy and snickering. The plot was a *little* contrived, but I get why it was written that way, and it's at least believable so I won't fault it. And seeing a softer side to both of them, but particularly Nova, who came off hard as flint in the main series 9 times out of 10, was a welcome development.
If you enjoyed the original story and wanted to have a little extra icing on your cake, this is the way to go.
This was the ending to the series I didn’t know I needed. Steel and Emberly’s love story was a slow build but Thorne and Nova’s story was an action-packed explosion! I have never felt so attached to a character as I do Thorne omgggg😍😍
When Nova walked back in and Thorne was gone and didn’t come back my heart legit broke right along with Nova’s 💔
I am so thankful I got to be apart of this ARC series tour and I’m here to tell you, you NEED this series in your life.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5 stars!!

After the events of the original trilogy, readers follow Nova as she finds her place in the world. She is thrown into a plot centered around stealing the orb she and her friends had only recently recovered. Nova joins forces with an unlikely ally as she tries to get to the bottom of the plot.
Y'all, I was not expecting falling in love with the relationship between Thorne and Nova. This is one of my favorite enemies to unlikely allies to lovers plotlines. Their relationship built beautifully after the events of the previous book.
Not only that, but the action was spectacular. Julie has a way of showing the action so her readers feel as though they have a front row seat. Emotions run high throughout and the allies and enemies you think you know will leave you guessing.
As sad as I am that the series is over, I am very happy with how it did end.
Disclaimer: I received and advanced copy from the author.
I've been eagerly awaiting a return to this world. This book can be read as a standalone, but is best enjoyed after reading the Stealing Embers trilogy, Fallen Legacies books 1-3.
Our favourite spunky and feisty member of the girls from the first 3 books, Nova is forced into close proximity with the hot, morally grey Thorne. There's no denying there's chemistry between them, but Thorne has committed atrocities and they're fundamentally on opposing sides.
A great plot and chemistry between the characters is complemented by returning to this world.
I was looking forward to this book and it didn't disappoint. There is just enough heat and tension for me, with a few twists and turns along the way and who doesn't love an awesome animal sidekick!!
"I'm annoyed but not surprised by my body's reaction. Thorne is my type, after all - emotionally unavailable tough guys who break hearts on the regular."
My love of Nova is no secret so I'm super happy Julie wrote her book! Now I need Sterling and Shira next and Greyson and Ash to finish the series! (Hint hint) I love how Nova is unapologetically herself! She's gorgeous and funny but not self centered. You don't come across many FMC like that and I truly enjoyed her! She has this funny sarcastic inner dialogue that had me chuckling the whole time!
And holy WOWZA!! Thorne has so many facets. You really get to dig deep with him in this book and I fell completely in love with him!! There's so many different sides to him and some he keeps hidden so deep. My heart broke the more I got to know him.
And I absolutely adore Cleo! I love that Nova has this way with creatures that her icy outside doesn't show!
The action is fast-paced and I was happy the whole Scooby gang got back together! Julie's writing just flows so well - it's descriptive enough you can see everything without it dragging on. The world building and magic system are EPIC! I highly recommend this whole series! It's fantasy at it's best! I can't wait to see what she writes next! I'll definitely be checking out her backlist! I'm completely obsessed with her books!!
I had so much fun reading Supernova!! It was a perfect combination of enemies to lovers, and forced proximity. As soon as the book begins Nova and Thorn find themselves in trouble and they must work together to survive. EEEKKKK!! I absolutely loved the "touch her and die vibes"!! Great pacing, and it was such an addicting read!! I loved the addition of Cleo as well!! My new favorite!! I found it incredibly hard to step away from Nova and Thorne. This is a continuation of the Fallen Legacies series! I highly recommend reading that series first, prior to reading Nova's story.
This is book four of the Fallen Legacies series and I highly recommend you reading the first three books first, because this does continue off of Unleashing Fire. This story is all about Nova and I'm so happy she got her own book. This book was everything and more. I really didn't know I needed this in my life. I highly recommend reading this series and any other series by Julie Hall, because they're just as amazing as this series. Gosh I love Nova and now I can't wait for this to come out on Audible, because all of her Audiobooks are just as good!
I finished Unleashing Fire thinking there's no way the story gets any better than this and then BAM here's Supernova blowing it out of the water!
This was by far my favorite out of the Fallen Legacies series! I absolutely fell in love with Nova and Thorne. Both of them such misunderstood characters really got to shine in this book. Their chemistry was sometimes explosive and their story was so bittersweet! The ending couldn't have been anymore perfect for these 2 complex and at times larger than life characters.
This whole series has been a whirlwind of emotions and a fantastical adventure that I absolutely loved! I'm going to truly miss these characters!
This novel is a companion to the original Fallen Legacies trilogy which I absolutely loved. Julie Hall managed to write another set of main characters that I fell in love with immediately. Nova was an amazingly compelling and strong side character and to see her star in her own journey was just fantastic. And Thorne? I didn’t want to like him, but Julie Hall crafted the best kind of enemies to lovers story possible. Thorne made my heart ache. Sooo many delicious pieces to this story and I am SO glad the author couldn’t resist revisiting this world!!
Omg I just love this book sooooo much! I already fell in love with this universe when I read the first 3 books but this one is as good if not better than the others. Nora is such an interesting character, I love the chance to know her better. And Thorne, what can I say about this guy? He's sooo cool 🤩😍🥰 I absolutely adore ennemies to lovers stories and this one is seriously one of the best I've read!
I LOVED this book. Nova and Throne are #goals. I loved watching their relationship form and evolve. It was just everything. I was so happy to jump back into this world.
There were definitely some crazy twists and I could not put this book down!
I loved this book. It is a great slow burn romance. It also is good watching the development of the characters as they progress through their stories. I highly recommend this book, and even if you haven't read any of the others it makes a good standalone.
Just loved this! Had me from the beginning to the end. Nova and Thorne I just loved them. I am glad Thorne got his story and to know he isn't all bad. I love Cleo she is one of my favorite felines. This was a wonderful story made me have all the feels.
Um wowza! This was such an adventure! It was so intense from start to finish. Nova is a badass and we all love her for that! Cleo is epic! There is snark, banter, laugh out loud moments, sweet tender moments, edge of the seat-nail biting moments.
2nd read (audiobook, 2023): Supernova was so good!! Seriously, the narrator did a pretty neat job bringing all the characters and story to life. I loved re-experiencing all my favorite parts in audio form and remembering some that I had forgotten: from Thorne's swoony-ness and passion, and Nova's snark and heart, to all the action/fights, the plot twists, the ultimate quest they need to finish, and all the banter that makes you feel like you're part of this gang (thanks again to the narrator's performance and her nailing all the nuances in this book). Completely recommended if you've been following the author's Fallen Legacies series and love sweet, swoony romance mixed with all the action. Can't wait to dive into whatever this author writes next (and I wouldn't be opposed if it's another story set in this world 😉)! ~ 5 stars
1st read (ebook, 2022): Supernova was such a thrilling rollercoaster ride! I loved every second of it! I mean, Julie Hall's first standalone (ish) that promises to pack everything we've come to love and expect from a series/trilogy from her in one book? #yesplease sign me up! 🙌 And truly, she totally delivered! I've been waiting for this story since it was hinted at in Unleashing Fire (seriously there are so many reasons you need to have read that before starting this one), and it was everything I didn't know I needed. Thorne is such a complex and layered character, you won't tire of discovering and getting to know all about him. He's the ultimate morally gray hero, and Nova was his perfect match (since let's be real, she's as layered as him). She's strong, and a skilled fighter, yet she also cares deeply, and it was a lot of fun reading her POV and getting to know her. Speaking of POVs, this is solely told from hers, and while I'm not partial to the single POV narration, I'm good with it if the love confession from the hero makes it worth it, and again, Julie delivered! The chemistry between these two is off the charts, and there are some pretty swoony lines thrown in there. Of course, this wouldn't be a Fallen Legacies book if it didn't include all the action scenes (from the pirate ghost ship to the training of new skills), a plot twist or two, some resolved questions from Unleashing Fire, new characters, and the reunion of the gang for an epic adventure. 🙌
Seriously, if you love morally gray yet alpha-roll (alpha male + cinnamon roll) heroes, strong heroines that know what they want, the "found family", "touch her and you die", "forced proximity", and enemies-to-lovers tropes (to name a few), you should really pick up your copy of this beautiful YA Paranormal Fantasy Romance. You won't regret it! ~ 5 stars!
Content: Sex: none. Steamy kisses tops (clothes never come off). A couple of moments of checking a guy out. Violence: yes, as part of the series and of fighting Fallen and Forsaken (from threats to injuries by sword/blades and guns, beheading, spilling of guts, etc). Language: a few d*mns and sh*ts
I received a copy of the book from the author and BOMM in exchange for an honest review. Supernova is the final instalment in this Fantasy Paranormal series! It’s a standalone enemies-to-lovers, forced proximity, redemptive love story told from Nova’s point-of-view.
“The anticipation of a potential ambush is worse than actually facing off against one of them. I’m not known for my patience. If there’s to be a battle, I just want to get to it already.”
Nova was an intense character from the beginning and I’ve always wanted her story. And this was a perfect action-packed exciting conclusion to this amazing series that gives us Nova’s POV! And as an added bonus, we get to see new sides of Thorne! Nova faced every challenge head-on like the amazing fierce person she is and I loved it!
Thorne was a tortured soul from his introduction in this series and I loved that we got to see him as more than the enemy in this book. We also learnt more about his childhood and why he acted the way he did. Always love a redemption arc!!
I enjoyed watching Nova and Thorne and getting to know each other. I loved the bond forming between them. Their bond took time and understanding to form and the way it was done was beautiful.
“I direct a glare at the camera at the top of my computer screen, showing Greyson what a scowl truly looks like. Next to him, Sterling shudders and holds up his fingers in the sign of a cross. I grin, glad to know I still have my edge.”
I love animal companions! And Cleo was just perfect! I enjoyed watching Nova and Cleo bond and her warming up to Thorne and the rest of the squad. The squad added a new member!!! Grayson and Sterling will always be my favourites! They add so much fun to the story even at tense moments and I love them for it!
Every sequel in this series becomes my favourite as I read them. And, I can’t pick a favourite from the series cuz I love them all!!!
But it does follow the timeline of the previous books, the events of Emberly's story and all the characters there.
After the almost world ending events, humans have to learn to live with the knowledge of other beings, that angels, Nephilim, Forsaken, Fallen and others live amongst them.
Nova is still avoiding dealing with all the chaos she had to go through during the war against Seraphim and Thorne's army.
While travelling back to the Academy, the airplane crashes and now Nova has trust and lean on her enemy to survive.
Nova and Thorne will have to learn how to trust on each other. Starvation and dehydration are not their only enemies. When they realize they are stuck in the spirit world, the animals on the island are just the first of their problems.
Notes: ✔️ Enemies to lovers ✔️ Forced proximity ✔️ He falls first ✔️ Former evil, still morally grey and overall bada*s alpha male ✔️ Destroy the world for her ⬇️ Angels 🆗 Bond, soul mates ⬇️ Less about their Friendship
Trigger warnings: mentions child in abusive environment (not sexual but physical torture), fighting, killing.
Some issues:
It was only when reading this book that I just realized that after all the never ending description about the 9 Angel classifications, the author basically never showed the different Angel powers in action, the ones that are Angel class specific. Mostly it was just Em and Thorne's Angel fire and Steel's transformation. Sometimes it is mention someone has great power but nothing about it was shown on the other 3 books, not even as part of the academy. At least at the academy the characters should have seen some students trainning their powers and how to fly...
The forced metamorphoses part... It was a bit... Meh. Too convenient. I was almost expecting the music along with the change like it happens in some cartoons when the good ones change forms and the bad ones are waiting for them to finish. They all had contact with the orb several times while passing it from one another but it is only when they really need it that it automatically makes them go through the metamorphorsis when they touch the orb? Really?!
Loved:
Thorne was quite sweet with his still morally grey persona. He doesn't know any better, was conditioned and tortured all his life so he still does some bad things. He does know it straight away but he does fall first, always making sure Nova is okay, protecting her. But the moments he is still clueless or does it instinctively... So cute!
⏩ “I don’t know why I didn’t cut you down the first time you attacked me. I don’t know why I’ve saved your life time and time again. I only know that cutting into you would be more painful than slicing my own flesh. I only know that I’d risk my own safety, my own life, my own freedom, to make sure you were unharmed. And I only know that even the thought of watching the light dim from your eyes overwhelms me with a depth of emotion I never considered myself capable of feeling.” ⏪
Would have loved to see more of his enfatuated persona while they were not completely surrounded by enemies nor on a time frame.
Nice, enjoyable stand alone story.
And as always, my respect to the author. No hate nor hurt intended with this review.

I have been waiting for this one for SO long and I read this one very quickly – once I finally was able to get to it! Julie Hall amazed us all with the Fallen Legacies series (Books 1-3) and introduced us to a full cast of amazing angel born Nephilim, angels, fallen and forsaken beings. One such amazing Nephilim we met was Supernova and this book really gave her a platform to shine in all her glory.
For fans of Fantasy and Young Adult stories that feature excitement, adventure and love – this is one you don’t want to miss. I really recommend reading the first three books to understand the backstory because there is a lot that happens in the first three books that you’re going to want to know before diving into this one.
As an overview, Nova is a warrior half-angel that recently turned 18 and is waiting to come into her adult powers but it’s a little behind schedule. Her and her cast of friends defeated a war with the fallen and forsaken that ripped a portal into the mortal realm and attempted to take everything over. The evil leader, Thorne (another half-angel), has been imprisoned and everyone is settling into the new setting their world has after the war.
As Nova is sent from Europe back to the states to continue her academy training, she’s aboard a plane with Thorne as he’s being transported somewhere as well. But when their plane goes down and the two of them are stranded together, a lot of new realities come to light. That’s all I really want to give you all on this one because there is the possibility of giving too much away.
The depth of emotion in this one had me sniffling and dropping a few tears throughout the entire thing. Much as the first three books did to me as well. It’s hard when Hall does such a fantastic job of really pulling you into their lives as if you’re there with them. You feel all the emotions these characters are facing and Nova’s personality is one that is easy to adore. Thorne is also an absolute treat to get to know better. While you learn a lot about his true character in the end of Book 3, Supernova does him justice in a way I never thought was possible.
A love story that transcends time; an adventure that showcases deception and turmoil within their own trusted organizations; friendships that bond people together; and a setting that is easy to lose yourself in.
