The whole book is typical Mark Thompson! If you were a fan of the Mark & Brian Show on KLOS in Los Angeles (although they were syndicated in other markets for a while) or of his Mark & Lynda Podcast, this book is a must! Lots of behind-the-scenes stories, most of them funny, a few quite sad, but they were always heartfelt and (usually) respectful. The self-proclaimed "Radio God" has done it again!

Great as an audio book! I listened to Mark and Brian on KLOS, and I recommend this to anyone that listened to their radio show, or enjoys books about radio.

I was a kid growing up in L.A. during the reign of Mark and Brian. Before and as we were being driven to school, we got to hear snippets of the show throughout my elementary years. I even almost won Wrestlemania 8 tickets live on air once and was crushed when they gave them to another kid. I moved to Palm Springs and was lucky enough to hear them on a clear day until they got syndicated on our local station and the ritual of M&B in the morning continued. It was a pleasure to hear them for 27 years and attend everything from boat races to overnight Disneyland visits and even meet them once. They were a huge part of my childhood, adolescents, and journey into adulthood. I bought the book and in waiting for it to arrive saw that Mark actually narrated the audio version and had to get that version so I could listen and be nostalgic for the stories I knew (and a few I didn't) straight from the horses mouth and was entertained thoroughly the entire time. Having a few audio clips from the show was a real treat and brought me right back to my youth, and I thank Mark for doing it. Great read, better listen, and an overall great experience from start to finish.

Definitely a niche book. If you don't know the Mark and Brian, radio show, it would not be a good read. The writing is very choppy and the editing mistakes are plentiful but it's fun hearing Mark's perspective on his long radio career. He does come off as a bit of a whiner. it's hard for me to feel sorry for him as he can sell fund a $3.5 million movie. He was well compensated during his career. Many people would love to have a job like his, and earn that kind of money.

A great read. I listened to M&B for their entire career. This book brought back memories of great sketches and ones that I forgot or missed. Mark is very honest about the corporate world of radio and how quickly it can ruin a career. M&B plowed through and L.A. residents are forever grateful. The stories of his childhood, jobs, growing up in the south just added a nice touch to KLOS stories to show how bad things got.

If you listened to Mark and Brian for years like I did, you can hear Mark's voice speaking every word you read. Reliving so many moments through his eyes was quite a gift. I laughed out loud, I cried a couple of times, and I couldn't put this book down. Now I want to listen to the audio book so I can hear that very familiar voice walking me back to 1987 and forward to today.

Anyone who listened to Mark and Brian in the ‘80s and ‘90s and even beyond will devour this book. Mark’s voice really comes through and the stories he tells, some very personal and painful, are both entertaining and revealing. Funny, sad, insightful, and sometimes outrageous, just like the show, Mark takes you on a very entertaining walk down memory lane. Loved this book!

If you were a fan of Mark and Brian or a fan of radio, this book is a must read. It is the journey of chasing your dream and what can happen when you achieve it - the good, the bad, and the funny. If you prefer an audio format, you get the added bonus of a score and clips from the Mark and Brian show. It really is a good read.

Great read for those who love radio, music, comedy and honest to heart truth about life lessons and even family ties.
The author Mark Thompson, one of the great radio jocks of his time formerly of the historical radio duo Mark and Brian from Los Angeles’ own radio KLOS 95.5 gives a great insight into success and all that it entails from stardom to loss of its status and how one rebounds.

I absolutely loved it. It was great to read about Mark's personal history and his history with the Mark And Brian radio show, which I listened to for many years until it ended. I enjoyed every single page of this book. Nice job.

If you listened to Mark & Brian then you need to read this book. Loved it. Some sad parts but good to hear the whole story....well from Marks point of view. Feels like I got closure on how it all ended.

You must listen to the audiobook. Mark Thompson reading aloud to you about Mark Thompson is the most Mark Thompson thing ever and makes all the stories even more special. I truly enjoyed and appreciated all he shared with us.

Interesting read, been a fan of Mark's since the early 90's. I had hoped I suppose for some more in depth behind the scenes stories, maybe a look into some of the bigger controversies they encountered but still overall a nice read
