Parthenon Studios, in conjunction with Olympia College, presents The Olympians. Six college students. Awarded scholarships to star in a reality TV show, showcasing them as they experience life while attending Olympia College. But the question is, why them? Zach is overly confident with a massive ego, and his girlfriend, Hanna June, is naive but observant, conditioned from a young age to love her future husband. Kai is a stoner who grew up on a houseboat with his mother, and he’s infatuated with Amber, but she’s too preoccupied with her family, putting them above all others, even herself. Damon is rich and broody with a secret past, and his only friend is Dawn, a smart grad student whose sole focus is on school. And Zach, Kai, and Damon are estranged half-brothers with the same father. Interviewed and filmed throughout the fall semester, these six are forced to bond and find themselves in bewildering circumstances, including discovering the mystery of why they were all specifically chosen. So, sit back, relax, and get ready to binge The Olympians to see how their influence will change the world.
The Ambrosia Project series is loosely based on the Greek Olympian gods and goddesses.
Hi, I'm Hallie! I like, and want, to do a lot of things, so I create lots of very different characters and live vicariously through them. I don't like having to stop what I'm reading and look up word definitions or pronunciations- I feel like it ruins the reading experience. Which is why, you'll likely notice, my books are easy to breeze through- because I truly believe that reading should be enjoyable, fun, and relaxing!
Have fun visiting Olympia College and meeting my chaotic little friends! We hope you'll stick around to see where Book 2 in The Ambrosia Project takes them!
As someone who is absolute TRASH for reality TV AND Greek mythology this was golddd. TAP follows six college students and is told through each character’s POV while also including interview/ script like dialogue that really brings forth an interesting perspective on this dynamic as a whole while showcasing each character’s personalities phenomenally.
The writing isn’t all that’s impressive about TAP though, the unique take on the Greek gods was such an intriguing preface. I had a really enjoyable time following each character’s storyline trying to figure out what Greek god they’d be and where the story will lead, so much so I couldn’t help but want to keep reading late into the night.
With characters that captivate, questions you’ll need answers to, and overall a mysterious element that’ll leave you wanting so much more, TAP was a fantastic debut and I can’t wait for the sequel!
The Greek mythology element was much more subtle that I expected but when I went back and thought about the book it tracked and made sense.
The book tracks six college/grad students who are on a scholarship that requires them to be on a reality television show. Some of the students are super jazzed to be on the show while others are rather annoyed with this process.
The book it set up in partly interviews and then in typical chapters which made it definitely a fun, light read. The last 100 pages definitely sped up and made me wanting the sequel ASAP. I adore Hallie Parker and cannot wait for more of her books.
The book starts off with introducing the producer of the show and the 6 stars. We slowly start to learn a little more about them and who truly wants to be on the show and who is doing it because they have too.
Slowly the 6 costars start to befriend each other and we get to learn a little more about each of them and why they had been picked to be on the show.
As the show start to pick up, there is some suspicious secret meetings between one of the costars and the producer. This causes the other 5 to start digging and finding out more information about the show and what is to be expected.
They also start to learn that the producer has a lot more information on each of them than someone would expect.
Right from the start you know who you are going to really like, put up with, and hate out of the 6 of them.
What you do not expect is the twist the producer is throwing at the 6 of them at the end.
Hallie did such an amazing job of showing when the 6 of them were on camera and when they weren’t. She truly pulled you in from the very beginning of the book and kept you wanting more by the end.
She ended the book so well to line up to a second book and I can not wait for it to come out.
