Prepare & Share: Emergency Preparedness Q&A Mini-Series

Rate this book
Want to double your chances of really making progress toward preparedness? Join a group of people wanting the same thing!

We hadn’t originally planned on this book. But as we put our Emergency Preparedness Q&A Mini-Series together, we were reminded that the best preparedness ideas have come when people get together, asking questions and sharing experiences. It was a natural lead-in to Prepare & Share.

Here’s more.

Each book of the Mini-series stands alone, addressing one key topic. Prepare & Share ties the booklets together into a meaningful group activity – meant to be led by its own members.Just about any group can use the program to add value for individual members while strengthening support for the group’s overall mission. Add Prepare & Share discussions to your group’s traditional weekly or monthly calendar, or promote the series as a new and timely virtual experience.

A Prepare & Share experience can work for groups like

Boy Scout or Girl Scout troop (teens)Church social groupNeighborhood Watch groupService organization – Rotary, Lions, SoroptimistWomen’s organization – Junior League, AAUWHomeowners AssociationAlumni AssociationPTANeighborhood center – YMCA, senior centerAnd more . . .What makes Prepare & Share different from other projects or activities you may have considered?

This isn’t a course. It’s a sharing activity based on discussion and getting to know one another.People will start where they are in terms of preparedness. Everyone will build skills while they build community..Prepare & Share relies on the concept of Shared Leadership – that is, each of the group members steps up to facilitate one or more of the meetings. (It’s easy given the Q&A format of the individual topic booklets. Just repeat one of the questions and let the group join in with their experiences!)This Prepare & Share booklet lays it all out. It includes marketing messages for attracting members to your group, planning tools for scheduling, clear themes and objectives for each meeting (all based on the booklets in the Mini-Series), optional supplemental questions and activities, when to bring in experts, etc.

If you are tired of worrying about not being ready for disaster, if you understand how working with others builds friendships and maintains momentum, and if you’re ready to make a difference for others, not just for yourself -- grab this book. We think you'll find a fit here.
