The Dorling Kindersley (DK) Eyewitness series of travel guides are my go-to whenever I start planning a trip. They provide highly accurate, relevant and interesting information, and include great pictures! I was fortunate enough to find the newest edition of their Ireland travel guide at my local library. I particularly appreciate the maps, diagrams and labeled layouts of specific buildings. There is something for everyone! This guide feeds my enthusiasm for our upcoming trip in 2025!
I am a big fan of the DK Travel Guides. I got this book for an upcoming trip to Ireland. The book covers all of Ireland including the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. The book divides Ireland into seven regions with highlights of things to do and see. There is plenty of history and cultural information included. I especially enjoy all of the pictures and up-to-date information in the DK travel guides.
I am somewhat of an armchair traveler. I enjoy reading and preparing for the trip before actually going there. I also have been watching YouTube videos about Ireland and picking up tips from other travelers. I purchased the Kindle electronic version of the book that I read on the iPad. That makes it easier to consult the book downloaded on the iPad while traveling. I highly recommend the DK Travel Guides series.
The things highlighted in this guidebook (although I had the 2020 version) most closely aligned with my interests, and the summaries seemed pretty spot-on. The photos were great. And very glad for the tip about Dough Bros in Galway, is so good!
