Written by Richard Dallas in 1903, A Master Hand is supposedly a true story. Whether it is true or not, this is an unusually lucid narrative of a murder and all the steps the led up to the discovery of the perpetrator. This is a wonderful book for students of the law who are interested in the subject of "circumstantial evidence". This is a very professionally told story without any of the "tricks" of the usual detective story. A delight to read even a hundred years later.
