Basic Concept: Rules for live-action roleplay in the World of Darkness.
The first edition of the Vampire LARP introduced a very streamlined concept for roleplay. It enabled players to have character sheets small enough to stash in a pocket and not need dice, though playing rock-paper-scissors could sometimes jar one out of character. I think that the concept remains one of my favorites as far as making it possible to role play with little rule interruption. The slimness of this book made it also very portable for larping, though it became necessary to carry multiple books sometimes to cover all of one's bases.
