Amanda lives with her boyfriend and his demanding teens. Most days, she feels more like their maid than his significant other. She wonders how she got there and longs for her youth when her mom and best friend, Maggie, were still a part of her life.
Secretly wishing she could go back in time and make some changes—Amanda can’t believe it when she’s given the opportunity! She quickly realizes though, her first mistake was thinking a do-over somehow guaranteed a better life. When she delves into her past, she makes some devastating discoveries that change everything she thought she knew and leaves her now wishing she would’ve left well enough alone.

needs a new editor

First- in today’s tech world, no excuses for “since” instead of “sense.“ You may as well write “could of” … (and my autocorrect corrected that and almost didn’t let me write that so … ) That being said, the writing was very choppy as I read it. I can’t put my finger on why - sentence length varied, started with different words; but for some reason it read as if a teen had written a quick paper for English class. The story line was interesting and the characters were varied enough for keeping interest. But the editing left some very abrupt moves that were bizarre and clunky. It’s a good rough draft. It needs a bit more … something. Short read.

I loved this book so much! It's a wonderful story about a woman whose life has been turned upside down by a cheating boyfriend. She wishes she could do things over and boy, would she do them differently. I cannot say too much without spoilers, but I will say she is unexpectedly given the opportunity to do exactly that. Reading what happens, I wonder what it would be like to go back in time - would I appreciate my parents more? Change how I spent my time? Stop bad events from ever happening? It would be so tempting to do so - but at what price?

Loved this book!!!

What first drew my attention was the cover then the story description. Made me think of some of my childhood memories; what I would change and what I would want to relive. I'd go directly to Kokatosi and camping with my family. It would be heaven to be able to go back; spend the days swimming in the lake. Have that feeling again of freedom and hope and possibilities. Thank you, Laurel. I enjoyed the journey.

very entertaining

I thoroughly enjoyed this story. Being a huge fan of time travel fiction, I particularly liked the twist of being able to make 3 attempts at reliving (and potentially changing) a part of the past. I enjoyed the characters and thought the whole story was well written with a conclusion that wrapped everything up nicely.
I would be interested in reading more by Ms. Veil.

Wish Book

Amanda wished she could go back in time and make some changes—Amanda can’t believe it when she’s given the opportunity! She quickly realizes though, her first mistake was thinking a do-over somehow was going to fix it all. When she delves into her past, she makes some devastating discoveries. Not sure which part of her life was truly what she was living or was a dream.

3.5 stars.

Fun little step back in time with a lot of 80s references... Madonna, Sears, the annual catalog. I was a TEENIE bit lost at the end when everything started coming full circle but then.... it all made sense. Kinda gave me a little bit of the 50 First Dates or whatever that movie was with Drew Barrymore....

magical

this book was a little hard to follow at times but it was a nice story. the beginning made me angry but if you're looking for a happy ending, this is a good, lighthearted story.

The Premise was so interesting, but the time travel made it a bit confusing . I was intrigued throughout, until the ending . how Angry I would be if I had lived a life on a totally different trajectory with kids I did not know, a proposal I could not remember etc etc

Great concept with poor execution. The “big reveal” at the end made no sense. The ending was super rushed and abrupt; it read like the author got tired of writing and just wanted to be done. Many grammatical errors and typos.

Very enjoyable read.

Who hasn’t wished they could do life over? Nothing earth shattering, but better than my usual 3 star rated books so I went ahead and gave it a 4.

Read the book in one sitting. Such an amazing sorry of do-overs and how life can be such a circle of circumstances.

Stopped Within Two Pages

It's a muumuu. Not a moo moo. Spelling and factual errors are embarrassing in a world of spell check and Grammerly! We can and should do better people!

I almost Dnf this one. I have a hard time doing that though. There were good parts and I loved that she went back to the 80s but just didn’t connect with this book much at all.

Quite the journey?

I enjoyed parts of this book. However the further along I got, the more confused I was. Was it a tale of time travel or Groundhog day.

I liked the book, not the way I was brought to the end. It felt like the next to last chapter was left out... how did we get to this ending, although the end tied up most of the threads?

It sounded so much better than it was. It keeps going back and forth to different dates, making it hard to keep up with.
