This was a kindle read as so many of my shorter extreme horror stories are. It was a group read with all my friends at Extreme Gore Whores and we all disliked this book. The one star is for the humour in it as there is quite a bit. Yet I think I can sum up my feelings re its content by saying if I had a physical copy of this book I would use the pages as toilet paper as that's about the only good I can see it being used for :) Stay away

A Waste Of Time!

White Trash : Broken Pieces of June 2 by Stuart Bray is not good.
In my humble opinion, you can find a better extreme horror book to read.

Following June's story has been quite the blood drenched journey and I've loved every minute of it! After managing to barely survive her time with Mr. Black and the Freak she tries finding a new path. Of course her path will be covered with body parts and violence bc it's clear killing in front of a camera is June's calling. Where the story goes in this sequel was even more awesome and brutal than the first. Maybe we'll see more from June? 5/5 decapitated skulls 💀

I really don't know which one I prefer between the first and second. It was just soooo good. I think the second was more brutal but maybe I'm mistaken. It's going in my list of favorite books of all time

Did anyone, including the author, read this before it was published? Genuine question.

The spelling mistakes are the worst I have ever seen. At one point, I went ten pages straight with a spelling mistake (or three) on every single page.

The story was just a bunch of nonsensical bullsh*t, with its only aim being to repulse the readers. It didn’t even do that - the bad writing completely takes away any gore shock factor.

Lastly, who the hell is June? First book - she is disgusted with herself and has to push away memories of what she does in her “art” (eye roll) and suddenly she’s a vicious, murder loving, blood craving, kid murdering sociopath? PICK A LANE.

Ugh. Can she die already? She’s the worst protagonist I’ve ever read, by far.

EDIT: I remembered one other thing that really irritated me with this book - Junes feelings towards Steven (the cameraman). Why did she hate him so much? Why was she such an unpleasant @sshole to absolutely everyone? Why is nothing explained? Ughhh..... If edgy teenagers wrote "extreme" horror on wattpad, this is it.

I loved Broken Pieces of June so much, I went straight into this sequel! And, my god, Stuart just keeps getting better (worse) and better (worse)!! 😁

June cannot seem to get a break, but nothing can be worse than being left for dead once again, this time in a shallow grave and fucked up beyond belief, right?

When she is picked up by a passing trucker, Bobby, things end up getting real nasty, real quick, but for who? One thing I do know is that June is one badass, take no shit, strong willed woman, and Donna and Bobby may well end up being the stars of this show, although they may not think so at first….

And 6 months later, when June finds herself in Moon City under the employment of Madame Dedric, and cameraman Steven, has she met her sadistic match, her new nemesis, or her new inspiration and mentor? And is she now finding herself turning over a new leaf, helping to feed the homeless? Or is she finally starting to break, to lose what's left of her sanity?

When The Freak comes back into her life with an intriguing offer for her, will she take him up on it? They want to make the biggest and best snuff movie they have ever made, but have they messed with the wrong people this time? Things just keep getting worse for June, more barbaric, shocking, sadistic and downright atrocious acts, one following the other, until the utter carnage of an ending! But if anyone can handle it, June can!

We also learn more about June's abuse as a child this time around, which helps us to appreciate more why she is the way she is. And we delve a little bit further into Lemuel's childhood, which I found chilling and quite sad, but it also explains a lot about him. And of course, just when things look like they are coming to an end for June, when she feels she can finally rest, it looks like she is going to have a hell of a lot further to go on her never ending journey on this path worse than Hell itself!

Bray goes straight in with the savage brutality in this sequel, and just never lets up….ever! He pushes the limits and then some! Absolutely unforgiving, all out shocking, unimaginable horror and insanity! Hold on fucking tight, there are lots of good twists in this one and some absolutely genius and inventive kills! A tale of utter depravity and complete lunacy! It's insane! It's barbaric! It's brilliantly brutal! One thing youll learn from these books is that you DO….NOT….FUCK….WITH….JUNE!! She gives absolutely zero fucks, no, wait, she gives MINUS fucks!! 😂

There is so much splatter and bodily fluids in this book you'll come away feeling like you're covered in it and need a scalding hot shower! I was completely hooked, I could not put this book down! I NEED MORE!! 🖤

This sequel takes place where PIECES OF JUNE left off. Left broken and assumed dead, June pieces her life back together and has her dream house in the middle of nowhere. Quickly, her existence changes to a fight for survival as some people from her past catch up to her.

I didn't think it was possible for this sequel to be even more extreme and graphic than the first, but I was mistaken. This book ranks in the top five savage, filthy books that I've read. There is every single trigger and taboo imaginable.

I am so thankful to the Books of Horror Facebook group for introducing me to this author. After three stellar reads by him, I'm working on knocking out the rest of his backlist. Available on KU or paperback.

June’s story continues. If you thought book one was brutal, it is a walk in the park compared to this one. They were a couple of times that I actually flinched which is rare. The end left me hoping that there will be a part 3? When it comes to Stuart Bray there is never enough!

In Stuart Bray’s follow up to the highly acclaimed pieces of June, I see greatly improved efforts regarding the editing up to about the halfway point, at which I highlighted the rest of the typos I spotted just in case the kindle version is editable. (I’m not sure whether or not this is helpful?) Mostly it is comma placement, incomplete and run on sentences, incomplete words, words that need pluralized, a couple of sentences that weren’t proofread which contain both past and present participles/adverbs, possessive nouns missing their apostrophe’s, spelling errors or incorrect homonym usage. The main issue I took with this was that the grammatical errors were much more distracting in this follow up. At times, the grammar and mechanics made it near impossible for me to read the story rather than focus on them.

TW: if your trigger is violence on children, don’t even open it. June seems just as depraved in this follow up as the predecessors who initiated her debut into the world of underground adult videos, if not, worse. Not unlike the first novel, June’s survival instincts and eye for odd coincidences seems nearly non-existent. Parts of the beginning of this book reminded me of serial killer David Parker Ray, also dubbed the toy box killer, which I can appreciate. I’ve always said if I was going to write some version of a lm extreme horror novella, it would be with creative freedom and loosely based off of the Toy Box killer, as there is a lot to unpack there, and plenty of room for gruesome creativity. I’d be interested to know if the intro character Bobby was loosely based on that sick fuck. I think it was the gynecological chair and weapons of torture that led me to think this might be the case.

I’m gonna say it. I absolutely loathe Maddie’s character. I found her unnecessary to the story arc. Easily the most unlikeable character in this work of fiction. Idk. Maybe I have some sort of fucked up soft spot for June and that’s why. Regardless, if Bray’s attempt was to illicit a strong hatred for this particular character, he succeeded with me.

Wondering if we can look forward to pieces of June 3, which I anticipate, and will most certainly read. Good stuff.

Ok things somehow were even more diabolical in this second book!!

The punctuation and errors were way less compared to Broken Pieces of June, so you can stay focussed on the story.

It was interesting to see more characters introduced that played major roles in the underground film world that June is a part of.

This is such an extreme book, so be very very aware that there is nasty stuff amongst the pages!

This book has so many cliches and is littered with typos in the kindle version. It’s trashy, it’s bloody, it’s violent. You can tell Stuart Bray thinks he’s really clever for the amount of twists he forces on you near the end of both this book and the first. It’s cheap shock value horror, but I can’t say it wasn’t an entertaining read.

June wants control and is a force to be reckoned with. Leaving off where the first book ended, we get a closer look at the influence of illicit crimes that shaped June into the killer she’s become. I think June is a complex character that highlights a hidden layer of female rage.
This book is a lot more graphic and disturbing than the first one.

I’ve seen some reviews from people saying that they’re confused to what happened to her character between both books. She went into the business unknowingly at first. But, the temptation of cash kept her going. Eventually transforming her and adjusting to becoming a full blown killer. Such extreme trauma that pushed her to do the same to others.

I was really hoping to see some kind of development in her twisted, fucked up relationship with Lemuel. There are signs pointing that he cares about her in some way. If he didn’t he would’ve dealt with her already.

As fucked as it is, I really wasn’t expecting multiple depictions of child death so be warned if you’re looking to get into this book/series.

I took a star off because I kind of disappointed with the grammatical errors and lack of capitalization in some names/places. It was like this in the first book as well. Unsure if it’s because I’m reading it on my kindle but, yeah. Mildly annoying. I will say I am fond of the text change when characters other than June are speaking.

Excited to read the last book of the series, will be posting about that pretty soon.

Dearest Darlings of Darkness,

Soooooo, let’s spill some tea, shall we? Broken Pieces of June, Book 2: White Trash by Stuart Bray—where do I even start? HOLY MOLY. This book took the chaos of Book 1, flipped it, shook it, and then dunked it in a vat of depravity. I mean, WOW. Diving back into June’s story was like willingly walking into a dumpster fire—you know it’s gonna burn, but you just have to watch. And, darling, before you even think about cracking this one open, check those triggers before they come for your soul. Consider this your friendly warning.

Now, about June… Sweetie, she’s either the unluckiest woman alive or the most cursed fictional queen ever written (Book 3 better clear this up for me!). From dealing with Mr. Black and The Freak to the next level of hellishly depraved characters, she somehow rises above them all as the undisputed Snuff Queen of the Century. Or does she?! Stuart Bray loves to keep us guessing—and gasping—and I ate it up faster than a Snickers bar on a bad day. And yes, of course, we’re left dangling off a cliffhanger because that’s what Stuart does.

Can we talk about The Freak for a second? Depraved? Check. Irredeemable? Also check. But you know what? His story is just as captivating as June’s, and I hate myself (but not really) for loving it.

So, read it or don’t? Your choice. I, for one, am addicted to the madness, the chaos, and the glorious trash fire that is June’s life.

Yours in glorious insanity,
E

⚠️ Trigger Warning 🛑 Extreme horror at it’s most brutal. If it hurts me to read, you better watch out 🤢🤢🤢

OMG—Bray does not hold back. June is found broken, bloody, and lost. And then—unfortunately—she’s picked up by a wannabe snuff photographer who’s as amateur as they come.

She’s trapped, but quietly plotting revenge on this twisted hillbilly family. On the bright side? Thanks to this man, she can no longer feel pain. (Her revenge may or may not involve someone getting dropped on an upturned lawn mower 😵‍💫)

I had to put the book down AGAIN and seriously question my reading choices... but you already know I went back for more.

June spirals deep into the extreme dark world of snuff films. She acts like a queen—and expects all other “actors” to bow down. In some twisted way, she is royalty... but only because of the horrific things she’s survived and the fact she was left for dead.

Her morals? Gone. If the money’s right, she’ll do anything.

And now—The Freak is back. And he’s brought his 16-year-old daughter, who’s been training to join the family “fun.”

💥 The added side drama has me hooked—and some moments left me breathless. Even June, our Queen, was speechless. (Puts book down again)

So sh*t goes down, June drops her guard just as you think everything will be smooth sailing. Epic twist ending if you ask me !

Book 3 here I come 😊

In my house, we support crazy FMC. But this book had my questioning who was crazier..me or June. In extreme horror the unreliable narrator trope was SO hard for me to follow along. Given everything that I read in this genre is balls to the wall nuts.

I had to sneak a peak at Goodreads to try to figure out if I missed a book because where 1 left off did not match where 2 started and it REALLY confused me. I will say taking a peak made it clear by the author that the third book would clear it up but DAMN getting through that second book was HARD

SPOILER!!!!!!!!!!!! WARNING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have always liked the way S.B. protects his readers from certain triggers. Specifically in this series anything that had to do with…babies…it was always a story being told and not an active film being shot. Ex: Donkey Show, how the victim of Zombie Bitch got into the freezer even the daycare movie. While he could have ran us through the nitty and gritty of it all it was still a memory of Junes…not a run through of the movie being made. Yes they still happen but I would have had to put it down forever if they were active film scenes, and I do appreciate that about this author.

Brutally brilliant

This is one brutal, horrific read. It follows on from the 1st book where June gets horrifically brutalized by the freak. But things then start to become even more twisted. There is lots of violence, blood, and disturbing scenes, that have your stomach twisting and horror pour over your soul. But that's the business of the freak and June and their associates. June is the queen of snuff or so she thought but there are new.characters on the scene. Things become complicated, and June has no idea who she can and can't trust. She has good instincts though, or does she? There is no holding back in this read and it is one of the most violent books I have read in a while. It is packed from start to finish with no stop action, but hat goes with a brilliant storyline. It's definitely a book you can't put down til the end. Recommended fully! Be aware this is an extreme horror and those with weak stomach and easily offended, this may not be a read for you. For all those whom love the extreme horror reads of fiction! You will love this set of books. Enjoy!

Most of the time when I am being a total bitch it goes unnoticed because I tend to play it off like I genuinely care.
Total same. Anyway, if you have any child death issues watch out lol. This one goes hard on the small human death. Highlight of the book: learning The Freak's origin story!!!! Loved everything about Freak in this one. Also learned more about June - wow, she had it rough.
Looking over at Bobby’s son cracked me up. I could not help but laugh seeing him squirm while also being covered in chunks of his little sister. It was the trivial things I enjoyed in life.
😂 Also, June enjoys the little things in life.

Stuart Bray picks up where book 1 left off with June surviving a near-fatal situation. June’s will-to-live is driven by her getting revenge on those who wronged her.

But almost immediately June’s need for help finds her in a situation she’s doesn’t want to be… in front of the camera instead of behind it.

Throughout book 2, June’s ability to creatively dish out to unspeakable torture to others is fueled by revenge.

June’s rage clouds her decisions of trust, which leaves her vulnerable to those wishing her harm.

The level of brutality in book 2 is top notch. I had never heard of the “blood eagle” the Vikings used & when I saw what it looked like I couldn’t get the visual out of my mind.

The story continues...

This one is a marked improvement over the first and I found myself eager to continue the story, if only to find out what happened with June.

June is a solid main character and the horrors shes gone through (and participated in) improve the story. I'm excited to read the next one and find out where we go from here.

The violence was brutal, although understood. We also get a bit more information about Lem, including some of his family. They, naturally, met an unfortunate end, I'm sure.

Good stuff and I'm glad I took a chance on the second book. Onto the third...

4.25 out of 5 severed thumbs-up.
