Upon assuming his new role as Spanbrook's chief mage, Khaldun discovers an ancient artifact that Nyro, the great necromancer herself, left behind. The object is still linked to her, and through it, she communicates with Khaldun, enticing him to liberate her. Syllith soon learns that Nyro is behind Fosland's renewed military aggression, and that there's a traitor at the university. Before long, all of northern Maeda is dragged into war, but is it only a diversion, providing the ancient evil an opportunity to escape?
Sorcerer (The Mage Saga Book 3), my eighteenth read from author Ken Warner, the third in his Mage Saga. After reading Mage's Bane & Wizard (The Mage Saga #1) I was hooked and this book continues seamlessly from Witch (The Mage Saga Book 2). The series is a fast moving, long read. In this book I'm reminded of JRR Tolkie & C.S. Lewis and the influence the Great War had on their writings. “I received a complementary Kindle copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review." The gifting of this book did not affect my opinion of it. I look forward to reading Sorcereress (The Mage Saga Book 4) next. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).
Sorcerer like it's two predecessors was full of twist and turns. One moment it seemed like there was no hope for the protagonists and other times it changed to them having the upper hand then yet again hope disappeared and resurfaced. I enjoy how Mr. Warner constantly kept me wondering and needing to know what happens next. Now I have started the 4th installment of the saga and look forward to seeing what happens next.
I really enjoyed this the third book in the series. Gripping from start to finish and the characters that are left seem very real. Looking forward now to starting book 4.
