Private Investigator Margot Harris is hoping she doesn't have to clean up messes made by the local politician's son she has been helping lately.

However, she is drawn into a tantalizing mystery when YouTube star Cassie Cole uncovers an old, unsolved murder that may be connected to the politician himself. Despite her initial reluctance, Margot finds herself embarking on a wild goose chase to uncover the truth.

A possible witness is a man who is suffering from dementia. But when the same witness, whom they thought was unreliable is brutally murdered, Margot cannot ignore it anymore.

The two decades-old deadly conspiracy is suddenly a very real present-day threat.

Will Margot get to the bottom of it before it's too late?

Margot is after curious case of a murdered ex-call girl, from something like 20 years before, account told by an old guy who lived in an asylum for old people.
The old guy gets himself killed, and Margot, though not intendedly, finds her in some trouble, being shot at, knifed at and other means of killing her.
She's tough and a bit lucky enough to dtand the trials and find the killer and person ordering killings is the supposed killed girl !
Well, this one is in police custody, now. But things lead to ... the beginning of the next episode.

Margot never gives up.

Margot is one tough gal who knows how to take care of herself. She's a former cop who got into trouble due to a temporary lack of good judgment. Now she's a private detective and a good one. The bad guys tend to underestimate her, to their regret; she's not afraid of much. I've read books 1 and 2 before this one. Each is just the right length to be an entertaining and exciting read that really kept my interest. I plan to read this series to the end.

I love how more creatures come out of the woodwork with a little prodding. It's even better when they act first and think later. Lol. Margot's tenacity and intelligence were magnificent. What courage!! The action, drama, danger, and suspense kept me turning pages, and I couldn't put it down.

Another short story in the series. I read this one in one sitting. Margot is back to being a tough gal, which is my favorite part of her character. She definitely doesn't back down from a fight. I really liked this book. Even though it was short, it felt more complete than the 2nd book. Another good mystery solved.

I received an ARC copy of this book and this is my honest review.
