After fifteen years, life gives me a second chance with my first love. But he doesn't know we have a son.
I struggle to create a stable life for my boys when I see Keyon.
A towering presence with broad shoulders, strong arms, and a common-sense-melting smile. His laughter carries across the room, and I can't breathe.
He's back.
Suddenly, I'm hot, clammy, and scared.
It's been fifteen since I last saw him, and I still get butterflies. One look from those dark eyes and my body remembers everything.
A flame rekindles.
There is no way I can face him.
I betrayed him. The only man that made me feel safe and secure. The man who owns me, heart and soul. And now he's trying to create a new life after a medical discharge from the military.
My fifteen-year-old secret could turn his world upside down.
I promised to move on. But I never promised not to have our son.
Life offers a second chance, and I want it, but I need more than unforgettable nights. I need to know if Keyon accepts that our son needs his father and that he’s about to be a father again.
A quick read with several editing issues. Somethings were good and some not so much. Keyon was definitely a standup good guy all around who got hooked up with a group of bad friends who let him on the hook. The Marine Corp turned him around. Back home his childhood sweetheart Zari is with his arch enemy and guy who set him up. Seeing Zari, Keyon realizes he still loves her and wants to be a part of her life and her sons. Zari has a lot to tell Keyon while dealing with her own demons of why she accepted certain relationships and situations which her boys witnessed. Without adding any spoiler alert details, I wanted to like it little more than I did.
Kenyon and Zari had a lot of love and history. They find themselves with their second chance with each other after fifteen years. Along that reunion comes family friends ride or dies.
He went to serve our country instead of jail. He comes home a man suffering ptsd. He finds a purpose and more. He finds the one woman he had loved forever. She brings him a family and love that he did not think he deserved.
There were bad guys. Fist fights. Gun shoots. And a little payback.
Daja wiles brings us a book where we are shown two different type of men that have become a part of not only zari's life but her kids as well, which is part of what I like about this book as well as the fact that when Jules realized he was still I love with zari and wanted a life again with her he knew that Included the boys as well. We are given a situation where PTSD is touched on but more so we meet the strength and power of brotherhood. This is a great book for single moms especially those that may thing men like cade are all they deserve .
Back to the Block, while not aptly named, was a really good read. Keyon was home from a long stretch in the military after being discharged due to PTSD. Meanwhile his teenage love, Zari has been struggling as a single mom. Zari deserved better than Cade’s tail, but in the end he got just what he had coming. Zari could have had help if she had just contacted Black or Rick. No sure why she didn’t, that was crazy.
WOW! I loved this story so much. Zari made some bad decisions in her life but thankfully she learned from them. Keyon also made bad decisions which landed him in the Marines. Learning to become a man, it also subjected him to devastating situations that will haunt him in his dreams. After reuniting after 15yrs. Zari and Keyon pick up where they left off. Alot happens before they get their happily ever after but that's their story. Great read.👍🏿
Good read a little slow but Keyon was going through something trying to acclimate after civilian life and cope with ptsd now Zaria was in constantly in mommy and survival mode dealing with Cade and her oldest done suffered because Cade was no good he deserved to be under the jail loved the BMC ladies would love to read their stories
Keyon just got out the Marines and back home after 15 years and he sees the one that always had his heart Zari, what he didn't know was she also has his son. They rekindle their relationship but her abusive ex who has an issue with Keyon tries to cause problems. This book book🔥🔥🔥🔥, it was great just like all the others in this series.
I'm just glad she finally told him that Jules was his son... Her ex got what he deserves now he's spending the rest of his life behind bars the fait he tried to do to Keyon back fired..
I like the support system she had He came back to fix what once was destroyed...
It's been a long time since I've read a romance that I could actually relate to. This story is romantic, sexy, adventurous, family oriented and is written in a language that I understand. There are parts that made laugh and other parts that made me want to cry. Thank you, Daja Wiles for sharing your very creative imagination with us readers.
A good read with a second chance for love. With the past these characters lived through, they never thought they would be together again. With a storyline that has a few twist I definitely enjoyed their story. They both needed each other in their lives. I am loving this authors writing style.
Good read. Whenever characters from the military are depicted they have similar issues of people who were incarcerated. I never realized how they couldn’t even be there for their families. Cade had so much impact on Keyon’s life even in his absence. I’m happy for the second chance Keyon and Zari got.
This story was everything 🙌🏽❤😍♥💕awwww love this couple I couldn't put it down one of my favorite ❤yesssss the love they had for each other love all the characters except caden loved it ❤
It was a nice Saturday evening read. I can appreciate the story. If you're looking for something with a decent storyline to finish in less than 3 hours, I'd recommend this book.
This was intense. Especially dealing with a man like Cade. It also gives in insight on when my boys get to their teenage years. I loved their story and finishing their way back to eachother.
Soulmates when two people are meant for each other nothing the enemy does can keep them apart. It’s like trying to place a puzzle piece where it doesn’t belong.
