I recommend that all rabbit owners should read this book. Even though none of us are dummies it is very helpful! Every time I have a question about my rabbit I turn straight to this book!
This book was very informative and helpful when I bought my first rabbit. I wish that it emphasized more that rabbits do not make good house/ small apartment pets, they are very messy and need a lot of space to play outside. I think people buy baby bunnies because they are so cute, but don't realize the long term commitment that is required to properly care for a rabbit. They are happier as outside pets.
An excellent high-level overview of bunny care. I would have personally benefit from a deeper dive into some areas around health and illness prevention; but, it’s not bad given it’s target audience. There’s something new for everyone in this book and it will be a handy guide for first time bunny owners.
Do note that this book is geared towards North Americans and a lot of the resources may not be useful for UK/EU audiences.
This taught me a great deal about rabbits! Some of the information about rabbit breeds is a bit outdated, but this book is very user friendly and I would still highly recommend it. It has loads of great information and is pretty complete.
This was so poorly edited, it drove me up the wall. "Un do stress?" References to information being in chapters when it actually doesn't appear in the book at all? Seriously, these are basic things the copyeditor should have found. It's an updated edition, and obviously things got moved around and taken out/added, but it was poorly tracked. Professionally, this kind of thing makes me despair.
As for being an intro to having a house bunny... it was okay. Very basic, but covers several areas like health, basic startup, diet and nutrition, and so forth.
i am going to get a rabbit very soon. i knew absolutely nothing about the care of a rabbit or anything even down to what any of the breeds were. now i feel very prepared to take a new fuzzy little member into my home and i have every confidence i will be able to thoroughly care for him/her in the right way. THANKS!!
I read a number of books before getting my first rabbit. This wasn't one of them, but I wish it had been. It's really well organized, and packed with answers to the questions you're bound to have. Even as a more experienced owner, I learned quite a few things.
Another great book in the familiar Dummies series :) Good information, presented with a mix of humor & fact, in an easy to read & understand format. What's not to like?
