Love or Music… Which should they choose and what price do they have to pay?
Felice, Kit’s sceptical best friend, doesn’t believe Kit and Tully woke a sleeping god and were offered a choice…
Instead, she’s looking forward to the year ahead, where everyone’s wish is about to come true. Felice has got a coveted place in art college and, just as they dreamed of in school, she and Kit are going to share a cottage in Dublin. Tully is back from a UK tour, while Spike has promised to chaperone Kit around Trinity and orchestrate a brilliant social life for them all. What could possibly go wrong?
But when their best-laid plans start to unravel, not even Felice can deny that the fateful choice might have consequences for them all…
Another lovely short book in this great series about love and friendship. Kit and Tully's relationship definitely took a bit of a backseat in this one as we follow Kit's best friend Felice, but we do get to see a bit of what happens to them after the events of the last book and it doesn't seem odd if you go into it knowing this book is more about getting to know Felice. I did really like getting to know her more and seeing her true perspective on things, not just what she says to people (although it's often not that different haha). Seeing what her life is really like made it a lot easier to see why she asks the way she does in the earlier books. I still love the nice short chapters and Mocha's writing style and I can't wait to see what happens next for this group of friends!
Thank you to NetGalley and the author Mocha VonBee for an ARC copy of the book so I could write this honest review.
“First Album” by Mocha VonBee is the third book in the Kit and Tully series. This book is told from Felice’s perspective. It was very interesting to learn more about Felice and her family and to see how she thinks and feels! This story provides great insight into how Felice sees herself and how she wants to be perceived by her family, friends, and other people around her. I now feel that I better understand Felice and I like her character even more now. I also enjoyed revisiting our other friends: Kit, Tully, and Spike and getting to know the new characters. Especially Danny! He seems like a kind person and someone who truly cares about Felice and her well being. Although I did disagree with his opinion of keeping something a secret from Kit. I look forward to learning more about Danny as a character and to seeing if he really is as good and kind as he seems. My heart goes out to Kit and Felice for all of the personal and emotional struggles that they’ve both gone through! I hope their friendship will continue being strong and that they will stay emotionally close even as they continue to forge new paths in their lives. I also hope things go well for Spike! The author continues to do great work further developing the three-dimensional characters we know and love and introducing new ones. The series continues being mysterious, compelling, and lots of fun to read! With well written three-dimensional characters, 1990s Irish setting, friendship, love, secrets, art, music, and Celtic Mythology. I highly recommend this book and series! Thank you very much to the author for providing me with a digital copy to read and review honestly.
First album is the 3rd book in the Kit & Tully series by Mocha VonBee. I loved this easy to read YA romance novel. Mocha is a brilliant writer and I really enjoy her writing. I loved how the novel was short enough to read in one sitting and how you get to know the characters. I also loved that the chapters are short, which makes for easy reading. Mocha has done it again with another brilliantly written, easy to read novel, which I highly recommend. I can't wait to read more by the author. 💖I received a ARC e book copy of the book in exchange for a honest review.
Another great addition to the Kit and Tully series from Mocha. Thought I missed Tully as our main narrator when reading the second book I actually liked reading from Felices point of view for this book. I think it's because the story of Kit and Tully wants the focus but was there in the background. Also Felice wasn't my favorite character in the other books this book gave her a lot of layers. This book also reminded me of things that happened growing up, like the shut down of video rental shops. It's definitely a great nostalgia read if you grew up in the late 90s early 00s like it did. I can't wait to see what happens in the next book in the series and who we follow for that one.
"Love or music," Spike murmurs down the phone, "you can't have both."
This is a cute series. This one took me a moment to get back into since it's been a while since I read book 2. There's a huge cast of characters and it took at least the first 25% for me to remember who was who and who was where but I soon got it all straight. Cute characters and an interesting group of friends - one set making it in the music business, the other at college. But all are juggling home drama and typical early adult ups and downs.
We didn't get a lot about the wish but it set it up nicely to, hopefully, get more in the next one.
A huge thank you to the author and publisher for providing an e-ARC via Netgalley. This does not affect my opinion regarding the book.
The multi-point of view from different characters gives such a refreshing perspectives on Kit & Tully's universe, their relationship and stand regarding them. Having Felice's POV in the 3rd novella of the series is a pleasant surprise itself! She's the least favorite character for me throughout the 1st and 2nd book, but the 3rd book changed everything as we dive close into what happened in her mind and her life. There's a lot of layers discovered, and I'm glad that she got the chance to be the narrator.
First Album still consists of whirlwind of romances, music, and the involvement of the Celtic god/myth itself in stirring Kit & Tully's path of life--where all the main characters now have gone separate ways. It also tells us more stories about Felice's family and her internal conflicts regarding her choice of art college, family, and navigating relationships with the boy she met at art college or the singer of her previous obsessed band member.
Once again, Mocha Von Bee has manage to write an interesting novella that still filled with mystic, magic and makes you second guessing everything wanting for more!

Thank you NetGalley and Indie Ink for allowing me to read this ARC for my honest opinion.
This is an interesting continuation to the Kit and Tully series from Felice's perspective. Felice tells her side of the story of how everything started and how everything is going. Though short, it sucks you in, and you want to keep reading to find out how Kit and Tully's story will end.
First Album is Book 3 in the Kit & Tully Series and is told from best friend, Felice’s point of view. Just as they always wanted, the friends are finally together in Dublin. On the surface, it all looks idyllic, but Felice is close enough to them all to notice when the cracks begin to appear.
First, Spike rushes into accepting an exciting offer, and Felice, never one for caution herself, wishes he’d pause to weigh up the risks involved. Then she’s worried about Kit, who’s struggling to settle into law, and whose fear of being side-lined by Tully’s increasing success, is not unfounded. Finally, Mac Whitehead, a dangerous force of threat and temptation, is still around, lurking in the wings.
But all that fades into the background, when Felice’s personal circumstances take a change for the worse, and threaten to derail her hopes and dreams…
Sceptical as ever, there are moments when she can’t help but wonder about Aonghus, and whether the choice Kit and Tully made, affects them all…
