My Omega life was on a carefully planned path until my sister and best friend kidnapped me for my bachelorette bash at a strip show.
One thong to the face later…I have a scent match.
Here's the catch: the thong owner is part of a sold-out traveling show, and I'm already engaged to someone else.
But rules be damned. Fueled by an erratic oncoming heat and a determination to follow my instincts, I flip tradition the finger and hit the road to chase them across the country. After all, if Prince Charming can find Cinderella with a shoe, surely the same can be done with a thong. Unbeknownst to me, Fate has more in store – not just one scent match, but three who will reshape my path in ways I never saw coming.
Embers & Effigies is a standalone novel in the Fairy Tales with a Twist shared world. Every book can be read on its own. This is an omegaverse reverse Cinderella retelling with no third-act breakup, minimal angst, and lots of shenanigans. Some situations are only for adult readers.
Buckle up ladies, and prepare yourself to go on a crazy ride with this book. Where most books in this series take the fairytale on a darker road, “Embers and Effigies” is more like a rom-com Cinderella retelling with an absolute hilarious take on the fairytale and a lot of laughing-out-loud moments. There’s a glittery thong instead of a glass slipper, a princess charming on the hunt for her men, a hilarious fairy-godmother scene with a chariot I couldn’t imagine in my wildest dream, and so much more…
So yeah; I absolutely devoured this book. Even though this is the first omegaverse reverse harem by this author, and lighter than most of her previous books, it still breathes that same feeling I get in every book she writes. The characters are relatable and feel like realistic people I’d love to get to know in real life, the storyline grabbed me from the start, and the ending made me truly sad to say goodbye to these characters. Even though this is a standalone, there is so much potential for new books with some of these side characters! I would love to see Julie again, perhaps in her own pack with Cole and Zeke, and I’m definitely fascinated with Beau as well. The only problem is I keep on saying that after every standalone or series Mila wraps up, and I hate picking favorites, so let’s hope she’ll still be writing by the time she gets to the age of eighthy… She’ll need all that time to keep on breathing life into all the ideas she puts in my head with all those amazing side characters.
I could wrap up this review saying you will love this book if you like contemporary omegaverse stories with a rom-com feel and a HEA, especially if you want to see some male strippers in action, but I don’t think it matters what you usually like; you’ll love this book either way!
"This is for LOVE!" That line will live rent-free in my head. I laughed out loud, and it melted my heart. Lol. Zeke was pretty awesome.
Anyways, Hana and her guys, EZ, Christos, and Ace, were the perfect match. I love how Hana stood up for herself and chose a good path. She didn't do it for her parents or even the guys—Self-love and following your heart for the win.
This story made me laugh out loud many times. The spice was great, and the characters were likable. Excellent read and I hope to see more of the other characters.
couldn't even tell you how i came across this book but i'm so glad i did! it has a little bit of everything and the writing was good.
this was easily one of the funniest books i've read in a long time. it all begins with a sparkly thong landing in the fmc's face and how it changes her life. i couldn't stop giggling and the men are all so lovely (yes, i swooned)
"Imperfect and messy but full of love and laughter."
Hana has spent all of her life and even most of her early adulthood thinking she was an Alpha. The traits were all there. So when she presented as an Omega, everyone was shocked, including her parents. Now a ghost of her formal self, she is following a path she has no desire for. Engaged to a man she barely knows, as part of a business deal, her sister and best friend decide she needs a bachelorette party. Only, what Hana gets, is MUCH more than she ever thought possible.
When Lana and Halie take Hana to Beasts of Bacchanal strip show, she soon realizes how hot and bothered this is all making her. When the main group comes on, Boss, Eros and E-Z are smexy gods that become every girls fantasy. Soon, theirs stripping and lots of skin, but when Hana gets a thong tossed her way, the scent is something that makes her pupils wild and the word, "MINE" is the only thought process that she can make.
After going back and forth to live for her duty or her happiness. Happiness wins and soon she's on an adventure to follow the Beasts of Bacchanal until they realize they are her scent match. The ups and downs are a struggle but the people her and Halie meet along the way form life long friendships that I only want to learn more about.
When Christos, Ace and Ezra realize their scent match is out in the crowd, it becomes their mission to find her. When they do meet Hana, will it be love at first sight? Or will she be taken away in handcuffs for stalking the very men she's fated to?
I really enjoyed this story! I both laughed with our FMC and felt her inner turmoil on how her life turned out. They guys were a breath of fresh air and I enjoyed their chemistry with each other as well as with Hana. Hana's character growth was amazing and I loved how she stood up to her parents at the end. Their were soo many parts I enjoyed in this book, but I don't want to give too much away.
I loved how the author related Cinderella's missing shoe to a Strippers missing thong. Pure gold.
While I am not normally a fan of MM, this author did a great job not overdoing it and keeping it equal and tasteful within the storyline.
*Overall 5/5 *Heat? 5/5 *Fast/Slow Burn *Multiple first person POV *MMMF *3 months later Epilogue *Ends on HEA
Originally, I bypassed this book when scrolling because the cover gives off paranormal vibes but when I saw it come up under Human OV and read the blurb I decided to give it a go. The blurb gave off fluffy, romcom vibes so I wasn't expecting to like it as much as I did, muchless love it in the end. Whilst it is lighthearted, and there was some funny moments - it's also really hearfelt. There was a really good balance. I read it in one go (okay, I was working and so reading little bits at a time at work but the moment I finished, I was locked in lol)
I loved that there were no unrealistic characters or plotlines. Yes, the fmc and her family are apart of 'high society' that had their beliefs rather...judgmental. However, in the end, her parents chose their daughter over the high society norms. It did take them a little bit to wrap their head around it and they're not entirely comfortable in the setting her and her pack, and their friends, share but they're open to it.
I also liked that Brent wasn't some big villian,
Now, there was one inconsistency in this, though it was small. At the beginning she says that she was 22 when she revealed at her graduation and 'current day' is three years later but her birthday was her 23rd birthday...other than that, there wasn't any errors I noticed.
I loved that story! In general, I'm a huge fan of Omegaverse and fairy tales. So, when I came across that story, I was intrigued. I had to read it. The premise alone was promising and sounded like fun.
Within the first pages, I was hooked. Read it straight in one night. Just couldn't put it down.
Hana, our FMC, was a great character (the guys of course too!). Despite the story being more light with funny moments throughout, it wasn't only fun and surficial. It had a lot of depth either. Every character had their own hang-ups and issues. Even the side characters were interesting. I hope there will be stories about some of them too.
And the chemistry between Hana and each of her guys was amazing as well. During the story, all of them grow and nothing was glossed over. We see everything. From the start to the end with a little epilogue.
Really great book. I can recommend it. It was a hilarious twist on the Cinderella tale, and I had so much fun reading this.
The only “error” I stumbled over, and therefore wrote down, was in the first few pages. A little inconsistency or that confused me- It was said Hana is 23, and that she revealed at 22 at the university graduation, but then one page later it is said, that the one moment, that changed everything was three years ago.
But that was the only time. Otherwise, it was great and without any issues for me.
This was actually my first time reading an omegaverse novel, and I enjoyed it way more than I thought I would! I’m not sure if that has more to do with the overall story, but regardless it was great! (My brain just automatically associates alphas/betas/omegas with wolf shifters, and I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to correct that way of thinking - but I’m gonna try! 😂)
Hana always thought she’d be an alpha, but she emerged late as an omega and has since been living life as a shell of former self. When her best friend and her sister take Hana out to a male strip show for her bachelorette before her arranged marriage, the last thing she’s expecting is to find her scent match by getting a thong to the face from one of the headlining male strippers. There were a few things that happened which led Hana to make what would soon become one of the best decisions of her life - she needed to hit the road and track down her scent match!
This was such a fun story with many laugh out loud moments! (And a few spicy scenes too! 🥵😉) It’s the first time I’ve read a reverse Cinderella retelling, and in my opinion it was perfection! 🙌 I’d actually love to see more from this world in the future if the author ever decides to write any spin-off novels for some of the side characters!
I truly loved this story and I honestly can’t recommend this book enough!! ❤️
*why choose *contemporary *multi-pov *fairtytale re-telling (Cinderella) *omegaverse *elite society *male strippers *self-discovery *established harem (3) MM *mid burn 🔥 *standalone Ooo such a different telling! So this is an Omegaverse retelling of Cinderella, where it’s Cinderella chasing her men after a thong 😂 Trapped in elite society customs Hana is stuck…yet her bachelorette party brings sooo many questions to her life, and possibly all the answers she needs to truly become herself 🥰 chasing a thong around the county to try and identify the alphas who make her omega come to life she goes on a journey of self discovery too, casting of the chains her family and background have placed on her😄 The alphas, Christos, Ace and Ezzy are male strippers on the verge of giving up finding their omega but once the meet Hana all bets are off as these alphas instantly fall for our girl, although she isn’t about to make it easy as a non-typical omega 😅 but boy when they get together are there fireworks, especially in that heat scene!! 🔥🔥 yes it’s as crazy as it sounds and a great fun read! 😄
Embers and Effigies is a fun and hilarious omegaverse that spins a “Cinderella” retelling to a whole new level.
Where princess charming hunts for the owner of a glittery thong, and finds the alpha strippers of her dreams.
Hana feels it’s her duty to do the right thing and marry for the sake of business. When her girls, decide to kidnap her before the wedding, Hana’s life changes when a glittery thong hits her face. Now the hunt is on for the owner of the luscious scent she can’t get out of her nose.
Christos, Ezra, and Ace make dreams come true. Whether it’s by dancing on stage or giving a certain omega the boost she needs to fight for what she wants. These guys are what book boyfriends are made of. I absolutely adored them and how supportive they are of each other and Hana. No alpha posturing, just a refreshing sweetness to them all.
I freaking loved everything about this book. I devoted it in one sitting. Not to mention the men all have a special place in my ♥️.
Lots of spice and everything nice! This book is absolutely worth the read.
Hana is a late bloomer. Everyone and herself included thinks she’s going to be an alpha. Turns out everyone was wrong. She emerges as an omega. What’s a girl to do when her whole like turns into a dumpster fire? Well for Hana it’s to hate being an omega. She can’t go into business anymore. Her life is so over or so she thinks. Now she’s just playing the part of a dutiful omega. What does that mean? Going along with what her mother and father say. Marrying an alpha she’s doesn’t know to help her father out. Then her life takes a turn for the better. Her sister and best friend take her to a strip show. At the end she ends up finding her mates. They are part of the show. No way would her parents approve. But she’s bound and determined to find and meet them. Now it’s time for an adventure. Hana and her best friend Hailey go off in search of Hana’s mates. Will they find them? Will Hana get to meet them? Will she join their pack even though that’s frowned upon where she’s from? Check out this cute Omegaverse story.
Wow, im in love, Christos, Ezra and Ace are what dreams are made of! But I am getting ahead of myself, let's start at the beginning. The FMC, Hana, is so incredibly relatable, I can empathize with thinking your life is on track going in one direction, only to have the rug ripped out from under you, then "going along to get along" for a few years before finding myself again. These 3 men brought out the strength and authentic Hana that had been locked away under the pressure of living up to expectations and I loved each one of them for their personal actions that brought Hana back to Hana. Now for the humor, sweet love and friendship. If we do not get a book of Jule and Cole I will be sorely disappointed! The sexy times, yaaasssss please, my only complaint, there was not enough! Ms. Sin hits it out of the park with her smexy scenes and it always leaves me wanting more!!! Just like the friends in this book, they all need a spin off!!
Hana always thought she would be an alpha but when she emerged as an omega it felt like the end of her world. She lost herself for awhile.
Her sister takes her to a strip show for her bachelorette party for her arranged marriage by her parents. Hana never thought she’d find her scent match by having a glittery thong thrown on her.
She and her friend decide to follow the strippers tour across the country in hopes of getting close enough to her scent match. She finds new and old friends along with two other scent matches.
Ace, Ezra and Christos had given up hope of finding an omega for their pack. When they finally meet Hana, they are terrified that she won’t like them and their already established relationships within the pack.
This was a fun little read. It had laugh out loud moments along with just a bit of drama. But it ended with a HFN after it’s all said and done.
This was an ok book set in the omegaverse. Hana is a late presenting omega who has been set up in an arranged marriage and is depressed. She’s dragged to a strip show by her sister and friend where she ends up finding her scent match, it’s one of the strippers. The stripper, Ace, is part of a pack that includes Christos and Ezra. Hana isn’t able to talk to Ace though and they leave town for their next show.
The premise of the book was interesting with Hana ditching her life and hitting the road to find the men since they’re scent matched. Once they find each other things get pretty predictable though. Hana goes through her heat with the men, spicy times ensue, and they end up falling in love. Things with Hana’s family seemed resolved too easily and I doubt they would have been so accepting after how they acted at the beginning of the book. I didn’t dislike the book, it just wasn’t anything amazing.
💜EMBERS & EFFIGIES💜 By Mila Sin Twisted Fairytale Cinderella Retelling Hana grew up thinking she was an Alpha only to emerge as an Omega. Feeling lost in her ways and dreams she finds her self engaged care of a business deal her father lands. During an unexpected night away with her sister and bf whom drag her to a strip show she finds her scented mates in the 3 Alpha strippers. This book navigates Hana tracking down her Alphas thru a series of events( Christos, Ace and Ezra) and then working out how their lives together will work. Great book I really enjoyed it only negative I have is that you have to wait til nearly half way thru the book for them to finally meet and with it being a standalone for me I need this earlier, after that it gets so much steamier and hotter. Makes sure to read triggers also.
Embers & Effigies was a different type of story than I am used to reading from Mila, it she easily drew me into this tale! Who could resist reading after seeing a TikTok about an Omega who finds her scent match catching a stripper’s thong to the face?!?
That said the story was funny and pretty lighthearted! There were some issues to revolve surrounding a community with archaic values and expectations. The way those issues played out in the story was honestly great. It wasn’t a perfect resolution which made it much more relatable and realistic.
The guys were different but worked oh so well together! The way they cared for not only their omega and each other but also the other dancers and side characters was incredibly moving. I adore them so much!
I hope we get to see more of the side cast of this story in their own books!
What a great twisted Omegaverse Cinderella story! I loved how this story developed, starting with poor Hana struggling through her life after coming out as an omega. When she finds her scent match after being kidnapped by her best friend and her sister and taken to a strip show, Hana needs to break away from her family and goes on a road trip to try and find him. Lots of fun and chaos along the way ends in her meeting not just one but three scent matches in Pack Bakas. I loved how the characters all were developed in such a fun way, and there were lots of laughs along the way. This was another great book by this author, and her first omegaverse one, which has turned out great. A thoroughly enjoyable read, and I would love to see some spin-offs with some of the other characters!
this was my first ✨ spicy ✨ book… needless to say this genre has sucked me in *no pun intended*
I’m going to keep this short; EZ and Boss know how to make a girl blush. Hana and Hailey are truly such an iconic duo and reminds me of my relationships with my friends, except I’m Hailey, not Hana. There were times Hana did kind of drive me up the wall with her stubbornness, but once she finally left home I started to come around to her and understood her mental manipulation that happened her whole upbringing. The spice made me put my book down for a hot minute and take a lap… just needed a minute to process 👌😅 ESPECIALLY starting at chapter 28. JUST. READ. IT.
My grandma wants to read this too, love you Grammy, have fun 😅

First of all, let me just say I am not usually one for retellings of classic fairytales, but boy, did this author prove me wrong! This author also does a wonderful job of pulling you in to the story and making you root for everyone to get a hea.
It has everything you could imagine, sweet funny, and cinnamon roll characters.
A couple of outrageous side kicks and a perfectly imperfect happily ever after.
Highly recommend and look forward to having the author expand on this world because they brought so many side characters to life that you just want to see them find there own prince/princess charming and a pack to love.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Embers & Effigies by Mila Sin is a quirky, bold retelling of Cinderella, set in an omegaverse world filled with humor, heat, and unexpected twists. The heroine’s unconventional journey—following her instincts rather than tradition—leads to a fun, adventurous road trip full of steamy romance and new relationships. The dynamic between the heroine and her three scent-matched suitors provides the heart of the story, with lots of playful moments and sizzling chemistry. The tone is lighthearted and fun, with just enough drama to keep things interesting. This is a great read for fans of reverse harem romance with a touch of whimsy and a lot of spice.
Mila knocks her first omegaverse out of the park! And it all starts with a strip show and a thrown thong. Crazy, right? What I love most about omegaverse is that each author is able to put their own spin on things, and Mila’s spin is one I adore. Hana is an interesting character who drew out so many feelings from me. She goes through quite the journey in this book. I’d read anything Mila writes, but there was just something special about this twisted Cinderella-inspired story. This is definitely one I will read time and time again.
Mila Sin has brought us another great read!!! With this whychose novel we get to see inside the omniverse world of Alphas and Omegas with Betas in the mix. Hana felt she was doing the right thing by going into a business type marriage with no love involved because she was raised to serve a duty to her family, till she went to a strip show and got hurt in the face with a flying thing that just so happened to be her scent match. This started the adventure of a lifetime and will ultimately change her life forever. There will be decisions she has to make for her future and rhe life she wants to live. She will make new friends and find a few long lost ones.
Embers & Effigies is a standalone novel in the Fairy Tales with a Twist shared world. Every book can be read on its own. This is an omegaverse reverse Cinderella retelling with no third-act breakup, minimal angst, and lots of shenanigans. Some situations are only for adult readers.
So I was in a book funk prior to starting this, and this book is not my kind of book at all. Omegaverse, strippers heck I've still not watched whatever it is called with Channing Tatum and I love Joe M. But totally not my thing. Yet I devoured this book.
It's a bit Cinderella, a bit Thelma and Louise and frankly a bit nuts in places but certainly an enjoyable romp that made me laugh out loud in places.
If you fancy something light hearted, slow burn yet spicy this is definitely worth picking up.
Omegaverse, with a cinderella retelling and an overall fun storyline. Full of humor, adventure, drama and spice. From the first chapter it grabbed my attention. I quickly started to love Hana. She has a lot of weight on her shoulders. Her heart or her duty?. Christos, Ezra and Ace were her matches. I loved them equally as well. The trip all our characters take to reach each other is quite the crazy ride! Overall great read with a HEA!
I feel like Mila Sins books are hit or miss and this was just a miss for me. The plot was okay but the writing just dragged so much and I didn’t really enjoy it. I can’t say I really cared for any of the characters and I skimmed so much at the beginning because it took so long to get to them all togegether then the last 20% also kinda sucked. I should’ve dnf’d but i wanted to like it but it just wasn’t for me.
This is an Omegaverse retelling. One wild night leads to stalking. Hana’s sister and best friend “kidnap” her to attend a male review performance. This leads to one wild ride where Hailey and Hana end up stalking the male trio. Hana makes some new friends along the way and my personal favorite is Julie.
I would like to start of this review by saying I was up late at night laughing my behind off at this story. This book is basically a rom-com Cinderella retelling and I am HERE FOR IT. The guys Boss, Eros, and E-Z are awesome. I hope we get more from a few of the side characters in the future. Another job well done by the great Mila Sin.
