What do you do when you find the girl of your dreams?
Lie about your health so you can become the man of hers.

The way Taryn Maddox and I first met wasn’t ideal—I’d almost driven off a bridge and she was meant make any charges go away.

Not exactly the best first impression.

Her, though? She’s incredible. Stunning, smart, and possessing a soft warmth to her eyes, even when standing over the hospital bed of a degenerate (me).

I’ve never been on the other side of that kind of compassion. Ever.

I knew I couldn’t lose her. Not even during the moments she could see right into me and the incredible pain I’m hiding.

It’s only when a threat from her past resurfaces that I’m forced to evaluate whether my secrets are worth more than her life.

I’d do anything for the woman I’m falling in love with—except lose her.

I’m afraid if she ever discovers the truth about me, she’ll become exactly that.

An irretrievable dream.

This was a good read. Easton is hiding something big. He starts to come to terms with it after meeting Taryn. The problem is that she has her own secrets. Thankfully together they overcome their problems and get their happy ending.

Book 4 Players Box Set
I must admit to liking this story least, but if a book can make me tear up - it gets a star just for that reason.
I guess reading a series all at once leads you to expect certain things and the one constant in the previous 3 books was the way the the "players" all rallied around each other which I thought was the biggest spotlight on the series. I love books where the guy friends get into each other's business and even though East was shown in previous books as the quiet one (weird as he is a rock star) the lack of interference from his best buds was a little off putting. OK so this is a romance between Easton & Taryn, co worker of Astor, Book # 2's main woman. I felt they were in each other's presence for 5 minutes and it is love - The main focus of this book is Easton's secret, Taryn's secret (which I thought was ridiculous) and hiding the secrets from EVERYONE. It's only when Astor & Ben find out Easton's secret (cue the tears) that I felt something for this book.

Playing You is an in your face to every critic that says romance is nothing more than a fluffy fantasy. Ketley Allison proves the nay sayers wrong with an emotionally, powerful tale of courage. Easton has a secret that will break your heart. On the precipice of despair, he finds an avenging angel. Taryn knows heartache. Her baggage keeps her strong. Easton is a weakness, she knows she doesn't need. Her head is telling her to walk away, but her heart is intent on changing all the rules. Playing You is heartbreaking, inspiring and unforgettable. Allison proves that when you have something to say, nothing can stop you from using your voice and following your heart.

Wow! … and Wow Again!

If you are looking for a romance that goes beyond the “girl falls for rockstar,” this is for you.

Ms. Allison has done it again. I read book #2 in this series, but with a holiday weekend upon us, I’m downloading the others in this series and settling in with a “sore throat” so I can stay on the couch and binge read!

Easton. Tarryn. Wow!

Easton isn’t your typical rocker. He’s the lynchpin of a NYC based rock band band that is on the cusp of making it big. … except he’s got a secret that he’s fighting to keep from everyone because he knows it’s going to end his dreams.

Tarryn is a high powered defense lawyer, who is friends with characters from previous books. She’s dedicated, sharp, and a true blue friend, which is how she gets involved with Easton. There is a big part of her life that she’s keeping away from everyone who knows her … all for good reasons.

When Tarryn takes on Easton’s case as a favor to her friend Astor, their worlds collide and the secrets they fight to keep that way start to come out. The result is that they both must face their fears and trust in others … and each other.

Amid this story that comes with drama and suspense is a realization that bringing your fears out in the open and trusting your friends causes you to realize just how many you have in your corner. This book tackles challenging subjects … disabilities, abuse … yet brings out the human spirit and the ability to overcome.

Ms. Allison is one of my favorite authors. If you haven’t read any of her books, download this one and the others in the series. You won’t be disappointed.

Easton is a drummer in a rising rock band who has an accident after a concert. After it is discovered his blood alcohol level was above the legal limit, his friend find a lawyer for him. Into his hospital room walks Taryn, a beautiful lawyer. She’s a huge fan but manages to play the cool and distant lawyer. He is completely taken by her. I’m not going to say anything more because you need to read it to find out how the story unfolds.

This is an amazing book! Allison delivers a romantic, steamy, action packed story that pulls at your emotions and keeps you turning the pages. The main characters are expertly developed and seem to pop off the page. It’s a love story about two people who meet and form a relationship in-spite of each of them hiding their life altering secrets. In addition, the author throws in barriers, twist and heartbreaks. It is a fully developed storyline that is simply storytelling at its best. Throw in the sensual hot steamy scenes and you have a winner. I highly recommend this book to those of you who enjoy emotional rollercoaster romances on the steamy side. It is also for those who think true love can exist. Definitely worth the read.

Last in the series about Locke, Ash, Ben, and Easton. Real issues. Heart just breaks for Easton.
Well edited.

Easton has been the quite one throughout the previous 3 books. He is involved in an accident, hence Taryn coming into his life as his lawyer. Easton is facing a life-altering issue. He has been hiding his issue from his friends for years. Taryn slowly becomes aware of what is going on in his life. She has someone in her life that has a similar issue. Will it help her help Easton? Or will she turn her back? Taryn has a larger issue she's been hiding herself. Will Easton be able to help her? Will they allow their secrets to keep them apart? Or will they draw on each other for strength to face the future together?

Each one has been my next favorite. Easton has struggled to deal with his issue by himself, taking the 'if I don't acknowledge it it can't be true' route. When he finally comes clean, his friends, family, and bandmates have to play catch up. Taryn herself has to learn to let others in and help her. This has been a sweet, emotional journey where everyone involved has matured and learned to rely on their friends and family. Looking forward to the journey for Nocturne Court. Enjoy!

I have an issue with this whole series to be honest. I love the stories, but it is really hard to look past and enjoy the story of each character when the timelines are all over the place.
Rock Me Hard (Rex and Harper) reference Taryn and Easton being together already and Jamie being too old for a nanny so they recommend Harper to Rex for his 5 year old. At the end, Locke shows up at Rex and Harper's penthouse looking for advice about his newfound daughter and impending father status.
In Trust (Locke and Carter), Rex is single and his daughter is a toddler and Harper is not in the picture. Astor (Locke's sister) is engaged to Mike. Asher is introduced to Sophie but no relationship has started. Easton and Taryn aren't together.
In Play Me Wild (Easton and Taryn) Harper is not with Rex but Carter and Locke are engaged, Sophie and Asher are engaged with a child, and Astor is with Ben.
This whole series has SO much potential, but I couldn't get past book 3 because the stories don't line up with their timelines. It just needs a good scrub to get the timelines all to line up properly and the books should be rearranged to fall in that time order as you read.

First off, this is book four in a Players to Lovers series. I have not read the previous books in this series and my opinion is that it could be read as a standalone. I enjoyed reading about Taryn and Easton. Both of these characters have pasts and neither one of them is willing to loosen the ropes on their hearts. Easton gets into an accident and needs a lawyer, in walks the beautiful Taryn to his hospital room. Taryn is well aware of who Easton is when she walks into that hospital room but she can be calm and cool. This was a great story to read as the author unfolds the story and discloses the secrets that Easton and Taryn want to keep hidden but eventually feelings change and become more between these two. I loved that this is not a smooth road and the author throws in all kinds of challenges but it is also great to read how these challenges effect the characters and hopefully move them into a future.

This is my absolute favourite genre rockstars, bands etc but it has to have a good story to it and this one Playing You has everything I want in a story and I absolutely loved it, this is in my top 5 favourite stories and it has gone on my to read again shelf. Easton is the drummer of the band he leaves the concert after a hard night rocking the audience he gets on his bike and speeds through the streets but suddenly he is hit from behind and he flies over the bridge it’s lucky they have nets there or he would of died. Easton wakes up in the hospital his band mates are there and they aren’t happy with him then the police walk in and tell Easton that he was over the limit. In walks his lawyer Taryn a single mother who has plenty of baggage that keeps her strong and powering on, there’s an instant attraction with these two but will their secrets keep them apart?. I loved this heartbreaking story two total opposites that are perfect for each other. Amazing story a 5 plus ⭐️ read and I highly recommend this book it’s definitely well worth the read.

Taryn and her son Jamie are hiding from her husband. He's a horrible man. Her son is her life, he's also deaf so she's even more protective of him.

His favorite band features Easton who is hiding a secret as well. When he crashes into Taryn's life, and on their first date things get interesting because he finds out she had a child and he won't reveal his secret so he runs away from her to protect himself.

In the meantime, the husband wants his family back. Can he let his guard down to share his secret with a woman who fits to his life perfectly? Can she and her son get away from a past that won't stay away and will they stop running and let each other in?

Loved the story and now I want to go back and read about the rest of the band. I received an ARC for an honest and voluntarily review.

Playing You is filled with shocking twists that add a lot of drama and challenges. The characters are very interesting and I soon became invested in what would be happening to Taryn and Easton. Taryn's son, Jamie adds a lot of fun moments and tense parental issues.

Secrets riddle the pages. Easton's silence could find him without a drum career with Nocturne Court. He has held a secret since he was fifteen but silence is soon impossible. The most important thing in Taryn's life is her son, Jamie. She will do anything to keep him safe. It might not be enough. She forgot about someone, herself. I can't believe how many times my heart broke. The tears seemed to flow nonstop. I found myself crossing my fingers. They needed a HEA. I needed a HEA.

Deeply emotional romance - bring your tissues!

This is an amazing story of two people who are so wrong for each other that they're actually perfect together. East is the rockstar who can't imagine life without his music, and Taryn is the lawyer who's already learned to live without so much more.

This beautiful love story dives deep into the hearts of its characters as they search for meaning and purpose for their lives. Changes that can't be avoided are met head-on in ways that will rip your heart out before stitching it back together. I loved every bit of it, and Taryn and East are a truly unforgettable couple. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

Wow!!!

I absolutely loved this book! I was definitely enjoying the Rockstar meets determined woman/ lawyer vibe. But then boom! I was entirely slayed! Easton and Taryn just took this book to a whole new level!

I couldn’t put this book down! I loved all the books in this series. However, this is definitely my favorite. There just so much emotion experienced in this book. Plus I love little unexpected hero’s.

Unit dropping any spoilers. So you just have got to read this book! I highly recommend it! It was totally worth the wait! Can’t wait for the next series! I’m hoping more from Harper!

I'm not sure I can explain my love for this book. Ketley has a unique way of building a story and a relationship that makes you want to push the couple together faster yet enjoy the slow lead up. I couldn't help but love Taryn and Easton's chemistry and complete confusion to what was happening with each other, but also in their own separate lives. Messy doesn't begin to explain their issues, yet you want them to fight no matter what. Surprising twists that makes it nearly impossible to put down.

GRIPPING EMOTIONAL read!
An impacting emotionally read with inescapable twists that had my heart racing gasping in shock frantically turning the pages. Well written, intense, a rollercoaster of gripping emotions and impossible to put down. Playing You definitely checks all the boxes because when I didn't think it could possibly get any better I was so wrong as the words hit with a force that was impossible to brace for not to mention the impact to my heart and mind. A must read.

I'm confused.

Don't get me wrong. The stories in this series are good. The time line of each story just doesn't sync up one bit.. That's the frustrating and annoying part of it all.. You've got Locke and Carter together already when they showed up at the end of Rex and Harper's story. Which Taryn and East were already together for? Make it make sense please because they're all like this.

I enjoyed this intriguing rock star romance! It's well written with a very captivating plot. I love Taryn and Easton! Both with secrets these two connect. This is somewhat of a heart breaking story but beautiful love story. I loved seeing how this story developed as well as there relationship. I think this might be my favorite story in the "Players to Lovers" series.

Author that doesn't finish!

The is the second book I've read from this author in this series, I read the book before this one so that's the third book and fourth book in this series. If you like open-ending books read this author, if not look elsewhere. This author is not a finisher!

Surprisingly good for a rockstar romance.
So much more than the typical rocker book.
Easton has a terrible secret he’s been withholding from his band mates.
He meets Taryn when she gets him out of a DUI. She’s a lawyer with her own secrets.
It’s in depth. Full of emotion. Full of passion. Full of life.

my favorite in the series

The heroines in the previous books were very unlikeable. Their many doubts were stupid. I almost didn’t read Play but I’m so happy I did. There was a certain amount of drama, a great storyline, hot sex scenes and a HEA. I really loved the deaf little boy. I’m so glad she did not fight against being with Easton.

Baggage, Uncertainty- HEA

Overall 3/5
Spice 1/5

Maybe this will all make sense at the end, but after reading 3 books in the series it seems they’re written totally out of order. Not only chronologically, but also in terms of character development and timelines, just off.

This book had so much potential and build up and then it just ended within a chapter. So disappointing.

Good

Great inspirational story about not giving up or letting a disability hold you back. Love how this could be a standalone but is so much better if you’ve read the other stories since the characters from other books lives continue
