Summary

One upon a time there was a girl called Opal, she lives in Florida with her father the preacher. One day Opal went to the supermarket to bought some food to her father and she, when she entered to the supermarket there was a man screaming, because he founded a dog, and he was asking of who was it. When she saw the dog, she felt sad because he transmitted tenderness, although it seemed a little tender. When she left the supermarket she decided to take the dog with her to her house and there she asked her father for permission to keep it. His father accepted because she had lost her mother and needed a company. Finally Opal gets many friends in that perfect summer where he remembered his beloved mother.

Theme

The theme is dividing in two parts the friendship and the family. The FRIENDSHIP because Opal withe the help of Winn-Dixie could make a lot of friends that she imagine never to have. And the part of FAMILY is that she does`t had a lot of support from her parents and she see Winn-Dixie like a part of her family.

Opinion

I like very much this book because you can learn how to appreciate your family and your friend, because not all the people have a good ability to have friends.

Recommendation

I recommend it to all ages because a lot of people think that they already know what the value are but they are wrong because some times we forget this important things. Also i think that this book can teach you values such as friendship, solidarity and respect for everyone.
