Nell has an unexpected reunion with her only real school friend, Morgan, who is now a successful novelist. Morgan invites Nell to spend a weekend in her remote country home, but when Nell arrives, Morgan is missing. The house sitter is unwelcoming, but Nell's car has broken down and she decides to wait, both for the car to be fixed and for Morgan to return. But she's made uneasy, both by the neighbors and by the neighborhood. The former seem to be trying to find out something from her; the latter reminds her of the setting of a frightening, recurring dream. Very atmospheric, but a bit too supernatural for me.
