The book was clearly written for a young adult/youth audience, but I loved it even as an “older” adult. There were so many analogies I have already shared with others who are experiencing their own seasons of feeling like God is far away. Highly recommend. (Also… It’s a super easy and quick read. I read one chapter each night when I crawled in bed.)
Really good book, Jeanne. As a lonely person, I gathered integral pieces to my life puzzle with your insights as how God has me set apart and how I should grow in Him. I really enjoy how Jeanne expresses herself.
Easy read. But hard content to swallow in a good way. Makes us realize as humans that silence and loneliness are not necessarily bad if used in the right way.
Jeanne Mayo is one of the best christian writers that I have read. She places words in a way that packs a punch to each sentence. I recommend this book for any teenager or young adult who is going through a rough season in life of not hearing God's voice. She's blunt at times, but I would rather an author be real than to just candy coat everything!
Great book with simple truths about why God sometimes feels far away. I believe this book was written more for the younger set. I would have liked it more had it had more theology and Bible verses included.
