I was surprised how quick things move on this Zerlit story... good story, but it felt rushed. Bell seems to be more and more played for comic relief. I don't mind that (his 'competition' with Pucky is pretty fun) but he has to be competent now and then for the story to work and him to be the logical 2nd in command.
I am quite into where the story is going though.. so I guess moving forward isn't a bad thing.
The 2nd part of 'Cosmos' was weird in a different way than the first one... and still doesn't really go too far, but we'll see how it goes. I did like the 'shock short' this time... two competing time travellers going back to the age of mythology.
The book starts with a failed assassination attempt. Surprisingly well written. Rhodan on the other hand succeeds in everything he is doing. In this case he manages to save the Arkonide Empire by establishing a new ruler on Zart. And the Robot regent is thankful.
The dialog with the regent is refreshing, because the robot, a computer really, is presented as quite smart. Not unlike Chat GPT.
And there is development at the Thora front. Very good.
