It is Teresa Reasor so you know the writing is going to be great! Strong characters, love, passion, adventure and intrigue create a story that already has me begging for more. I do not think it will be a series but I would love to see more of these characters.
Lady Katherine's uncle forces her to marry a Yankee ship's captain who has been falsely imprisoned. Neither wants to marry but they both want to get out of there current situations. Katherine wants to find the men who murdered her family but society does not support her taking a stand and her uncle wants it all to just go away so she figures that marriage and an annulment will make it possible for her to act on her own. Captain Hamilton just wants to get back to America and his daughter, but there is no way he is leaving without his new wife.
The murders aren't too happy with her efforts and want to stop her no matter what it takes.
Love, mystery suspense all contribute to this charming historical romance. It is well written & characters developed. Katherine is a determined, compassionate young woman. Mathew an honourable protective sea captain. They are cohersed into marriage by a greedy uncle. The marriage provides Katherine freedom from a guilded goal & to pursue evidence against her family's murders. Mathew gains freedom from false imprisonment so he can return to his young daughter in America. Katherine lead Mathew a merry chase as she searches for justice.
I really enjoyed "Highland Moonlight" and was really looking forward to this book and I was not disappointed. A book that once you start you just can't put it down. I wish this author had more books available as I think she is fast becoming a favourite.
