The thrilling next instalment of the bestselling series by Jonathan Lunn, perfect for readers of Angus Donald, Bernard Cornwell and Matthew Harffy.
Born in London, Jonathan Lunn started writing at the age of fifteen. He studied history at the University of Leicester, where he became involved in politics. He worked for six years as a spin doctor in local government, but decided to leave politics behind and concentrate on his writing. He is the author of a series of naval adventure stories, described as "the Victorian Hornblower", based around the eponymous hero of the first book, Killigrew R.N. (2000). The series now runs to six books, the most recent of which was Killigrew and the Sea Devil (2005). Entertaining and historically accurate, the series is shortly to be re-launched in Italy. He has also written two books under his real name, Daniel Hall, and currently lives in Bristol.
I love Martin Kemp. He's one of us in a way. He's a commoner and he wants his routiers back. Unfortunately for Martin, nothing is ever straightforward and that certainly rings true again. One thing he does have going for him are his friends. Nompar and Centule along with his fellow archer Ieuann. They are a band of brothers. A brilliant series, but if you haven't read Jonathan Lunn before, start with the first book in the series. You won't regret it.
I didn't read all the books in this series but I enjoyed those I read as they're action packed and fast paced. Martin Kemp is an interesting and well developed character, the historical background is vivid and well researched. A well plotted story that I recommend. Many thanks to the publisher for this arc, all opinions are mine
Always leaving wanting more from Kemp and crew. Read the lot and praying for more. Great Author and interesting / exciting action a plenty Highly recommended.
