Good introduction to Antartic explorers. Breeches on some subjects not mentioned in biography's. Good start to venture out more into the detailed descriptions of the journeys described.

This is a fascinating book telling the history of the discovery of the south pole. It is a wonder these Englishmen did as well as they did , since they truly laced common sense. The Norwegians claimed the prize simply because all the British would not use the advice they asked of them.
