Emma Darcy is the pseudonym created by the married writing team of Wendy (1940-2020) and Frank Brennan (1936-1995). Their life journey has taken as many twists and turns as the characters in their stories, whose international popularity has resulted in over sixty-million book sales. With more than a hundred titles, Emma Darcy appeared regularly on the Waldenbooks bestseller lists in the U.S.A. and in the Nielson BookScan Top 100 chart in the U.K.

Wendy was born 28 November 1940 in Australia. Her sister was the novelist Maureen Mary (Miranda Lee). Her father was a country school teacher and brilliant sportsman. Her mother was a talented dressmaker. She obtained an Honours degree in Latin and initially worked as a high school English/French teacher. She married Frank Brennan, an Australian businessman born in 1936. She changed careers to computer programming before marriage and motherhood settled her into a community life. She was reputedly the first woman computer programmer in the southern hemisphere.

As voracious readers, the step to writing their own books seemed a natural progression and the challenge of creating exciting stories was soon highly addictive. They were published since 1983. In 1993, for the Emma Darcy pseudonym's 10th anniversary, they created the "Emma Darcy Award Contest" to encourage authors to finish their manuscripts. After the death of Frank Brennan in 1995, Wendy wrotes books on her own. She lived in a beachside property on the central coast of New South Wales, and liked to travel extensively to research settings and increase her experience of places and people.

Wendy Brennan passed away on December 21, 2020. She is survived by her children, grandchildren, and sister, writer Miranda Lee.

A love triangle with 2 of the sides being sisters, 1 side being a hero who "does" them both, 1 side having a child with the hero, 1 side raising the other's child by the hero, and 1 side being dead. Confused yet?

A love triangle can be angsty, although not my favorite trope. I usually find a hero/heroine waffling over who they really love to be annoying and a romance buzzkill. This one didn't work for me at all cuz all 3 sides of this love triangle were obtuse. I've rarely seen such illogical and incomprehensible behavior. I like angst but here's the thing - you gotta like the folks involved, or even just understand them, in order to feel moved by their plight. With all 3 sides here acting bizarrely, all I felt was a big yawn coming on.

Karen - the heroine, I wish I knew ye. No, seriously. What are your thoughts on travel, art, Mexican food? How did I read an entire book about you and still not know anything except that you're obsessed with first David and then Hal? It's all David, David, David. Then Hal, Hal, Hal. Don't believe me? Try this passage: "It was impossible to actually pinpoint the time when her life had stopped revolving around David and started revolving around Hal, but as the weeks had passed her awareness of him had grown until he was now the focus of practically everything she did and thought and felt." Oy! Now I don't expect to find a hotbed of radical feminism in my HP reading but give me a break.

Hal - the hero, I don't understand you. Did you love Karen's sister or not? You said "I never loved Kirsty but I gave her love". WTF does that mean? Why would you stay in a relationship for 6 years with a woman you didn't love? Why did you propose marriage to a woman you didn't love? Who does that? You say you love Karen now, but when did you fall in love with her? I didn't feel it happening dude. And why did you insist from the start on your marriage to Karen being a "full" marriage instead of a marriage in name only? When Karen despite the odds was happy, why did you pitch a fit? Why accuse her of enjoying her new lifestyle too much? She didn't marry you for your money, she married you because you blackmailed her, remember?

Kirsty - the dead sis, oh where do I begin with you? Why did you conceal Hal's baby when you knew he would welcome kids? And then go on living with him after, who does that? If you loved Hal, why did you turn down his proposal of marriage? Why did you lie to Karen about Hal not wanting kids? Why in 6 years did you never bring Hal home to your family to meet? Why did you press Hal to marry Karen when you were dying, how could you "know" they were right for each other when they'd never even met? Is Hal right that you had a death wish, and if so why?

Why, why, WHY??

Re the Wrong Mirror - This is an epic trainwreck and I am very tempted to put this on the so bad it is cultic list. Basically this book completely and utterly squicks me out. I read this a few years ago for seton's bookclub and I swore I would never read it again. Well never say never, but all the Captain Morgan in all the worlds just can't help me tolerate this book.

The book starts with the h waking in the middle of the night and realizing that her mirror image and opposite in personality twin has died. The h is very sad about this, as it appears the telepathic bond the h shared with her twin meant that twin died in great mental agony.

The h discovers the reason for that agony is that four years earlier the twin became preggers by her lover and told the h that her lover did not want the baby. The twin gave it up to the h as she and her hubby at the time (whom she has since divorced when he cheated on her and he was infertile), couldn't have children. As the twin was dying, she told her lover about the child she gave up and told him to marry her sister who is the adoptive mum - cause lovers should always be passed along like parcels when one is on their deathbed.

The H is the twin's lover and they were both war correspondents together. They have been in a relationship for six years and the h thinks the H is a monster for not letting her sister keep her child. The H knew nothing about any of this. He thinks the h is evil, just like her twin for keeping him from his child. The H was seriously injured in the same bomb blast that killed the twin and his father asks the h to take the child to the H, so that he can see his son if he dies - his chances don't look very good.

The h reluctantly agrees and it is mutual hate at first sight. The h and H argue a bit and the H swears he is getting custody of his son, and that the h will marry him. The h is scared, but she figures the adoption papers are good so she goes back to Australia. The H shows up a bit later on and contests for custody based on the fact that the twin put father unknown on the birth certificate - if the h doesn't marry him, the custody fight is on.

He also gets the h's ex husband to sign a statement saying the h knew that the father wasn't unknown. The ex wants the h to remarry him - the h tells him no chance and especially not after him signing that statement. So much for the ex. The h does actually go to her lawyer, but the lawyer does a lot of double speak, so it appears he is in the payoff of the H.

The H has given the h a deadline and she reluctantly agrees to the wedding. They marry and there is a very forced seduction that ends in some pretty angry lurve clubbing. The h and H argue over the twin's death, the h claims the twin died in agony and the H states the twin never loved him.

The H goes back and forth a lot tho - first he says he loved the twin, then he says he did not and only stayed with her so long because the twin had a death wish and took too many chances. (Either way he comes off as a huge egotist, he actually says he did not love the twin, but he gave her love and she did not appreciate it.) The h claims the twin DID love him, so much so that she even betrayed her own sister to give the H his child. The H states that the sister died telling him he had the wrong mirror and he did not know what to make of that.

Etiher way, the H is determined to use the lurve club until the h is preggers and there is plenty of hostility between them outside of bed. Then the h decides she in love with the H and mopes for a while cause he makes it very clear he isn't in love with her. The H's father has to get in on the act and throw his two cents in re the marriage too. The h does become preggers and before she can tell the H, he accuses her of waiting like a viper to get her revenge for forcing the marriage.

The h is outraged that he thinks she is putting on an act and since she is preggers as he wanted, she refuses to let him touch her or she will file for divorce. The h repeats that the sister loved him, her twin always had to be first and she basically insinuates that the twin's death wish behavior was because the twin knew the H did not love her. The H feels bad and tries to make amends with the h, but she isn't having any of it and the tension resumes.

Then the h is called into her doctor's office for a scan but no one will tell her why. There is a few days between the scan and the appointment and the H and h manage to call a truce in the name of mutual support in case the baby has a problem. (I really did not buy that plot maneuver tho, I couldn't see the H being patient enough to wait for two days if he thought there was a problem with the pregnancy.) Eventually the H and h make it to the obstetrician's office and they find out the h is having twins.

The doctor's get all pontificating about the h's mirror image twins she is carrying and the h interrupts them to let them know she knows all about it, cause she is one. The H and h go home and things are going along okay between them. Then the h goes into labor and the H swears undying love and she swears true love back while trying to give birth.

(I am really not sure that confessions of love during labor should count tho, it seems to me that is more a matter of coerced duress - it isn't like the h can really go anywhere and transitional ladies would probably say anything for drugs at that point. -- just sayin')

So now the H and h have twin girls and the H finally gets what the twin meant. Supposedly the twin knew that the H was really the mystically bonded partner of the h but she had to be first, and so she lied to both of them to keep the H as her lover - but graciously gave the h her child as a consolation prize.

Then when the twin knew she was dying, she told the H about what she had done and put it in the worst light possible so that even from beyond the grave she could mess the H and h. The H and h love each other and now have twin girls, since they are parents and the twin is dead, the HEA can move on full speed ahead.

Overall the book is a wee bit confusing, but this is what I think. The underlying theme of this one is that the h and her twin were opposites, with the h being the nice one and the twin not so nice.

Either the twin met the man who was "fated" to be the h's partner, but the twin did not like that and manipulated and lied to steal her sister's man. Or (if the 'fated' mate thing is too outre,) the H is just looking for a look alike substitute for his long term lover, but one that doesn't want to compete in his work environment and will stay home and wait on him and be his brood mare.

The h, since she has always been seekritly jealous of her daredevil sister, is happy to replace her as the H's wife and domestic engineer and so she basically wins it all in the end due to the unfortunate (or not) loss of her sister.

I don't care, I am still regurgitating on the fact that H went from the twin (for SIX YEARS), right to the h and nobody thought any thing of it. That is just way too much EEEWWW for me. Plus the underlying resentments and hostilities and seekrit jealousies between every main character in the book with no direct resolution did not hit my happy place.

This one is brilliant in terms of drama and angst, but no one adult character was very likable, and I still can't get over an H who shags both twins and has children with both of them too. At least no one flipped a coin for the H, which is a small redemption ,and if you like the wrecki-drama, this is definitely one to read. ED's writing is great as always, it was just the content that did not work for me but may just be your cuppa.

Kinda creepy romance. 30+yo journalist H's love for 25yo(?) h not believable & more a transference of his unresolved unrequited-love issue with h's identical twin-sister (OW), whom he dated for the past 6 years until her death. Despite telling h that he'd “never loved” OW but that he “gave his love to her”, he was quite in love with OW to stay with her for 6 years, even though she refused to marry him. His pain at OW's death & her resistance to marrying him was deep. The real angst in this book was not in his romance/love for h but in his never-to-be-resolved love for h's now-dead twin sister. It was pitiful but understandable for h to keep questioning H's love for herself and not as a replacement for her twin. Iffy HEA.

Kinda creepy too was h's clingy love for her son, who she was willing to sacrifice her marriages for just to keep him. Would've helped if we had more info on why h's twin OW kept H's son a secret from him & adopt their baby out to h. Didn't make sense since why OW never broke up with H, even during her secret pregnancy when she told him she had to be overseas for those months. OW died in his arms while on their journalist assignment & only then told H about their son.

Average emo/generalized S scenes. Weird S chem/rom. Lacked fully-fleshed characterization since both H&h's characters seemed to revolve around the aftermath of her twin-sister's death. So, they seem to have become different people due to her death & especially now having to deal with H's secret son with h's twin.

Sexual History:
25yo h is 2-yr divorced from her husband who she married when she was 19yo & was her only other lover aside from H. They divorced because her husband was jealous of her adopted son from her twin sister since he & h couldn't get pregnant due to his low sperm count. But her ex-husband wanted to marry her again, once he found out that H knew that he had a son & wanted custody of him. She wanted nothing to do with him, when he told her that he only wanted their own biological kids and wanted her to give up her adopted son over to H. H wanted a normal marriage with sex & all & insisted on a quickie wedding just a couple weeks after they met. He basically smexxed her in a dubious-consent way @ their wedding night. She resisted his sexual advances, especially after he told her that he wanted to get her pregnant. But she knew it was her lot in her new married life & tried to be limp but liked his smexxing so she orgasmed anyway. She became an eager sexual partner after that. No info on other previous sexual partners & girlfriends H had aside from h's twin sis.

Oh, these vintage Harlequin Presents sure do have the power to tug on my heartstrings. The Wrong Mirror is no different. What a complicated situation to be the mirror image twin sister of a woman who denies a man the right to know his son. Karen has reason to hate Hal. She thinks that he told her sister to abort their child, which she adopts from her sister, Kirsty. Kirsty dies in a terrorist bombing that gravely wounds Hal, and Karen knows when it's happening, through her bond with her sister. When Hal's father appeals to her to allow Hal to see his son on what could be his deathbed, she is not able to say no. When they meet, there is a powerful confrontation, her angry at how he hurt her sister, and he angry at being denied his child. His desire for revenge empowers his recovery. And when he does recover and comes back to Australia, not much time goes by before he comes to her house, and gives her an ultimatum. She has to marry him, or lose custody of her son, since the adoption wasn't legal without his signature.

Karen marries Hal to keep her son, his son. But their marriage is full of passion from the beginning. Soon, Karen is in love with Hal, although she feels that she'll always be second best to him, since she's not Kirsty. How little does she know how complicated Hal's relationship with Kirsty was, and the torment that Hal has because of that relationship.

This was a powerful read. There is a lot of angst in this situation, with Karen losing her twin, Hal being there at her death, and his pain at being denied his son, and dealing with the emotional torment of being involved with Kirsty. I was very glad that this book came highly recommended by a friend on Goodreads, encouraging me to hunt down a copy of this book. The twin aspects were pretty interesting, and they tied heavily into this story. The title of this story is very crucial to the plot, and in a fascinating manner. The Wrong Mirror is an oldie but goodie, well worth seeking out.

"The Wrong Mirror" is the story of Kirsty and Hal.

Let's get the two icky factors out first.
1. Yes he sleeps with identical twins and has babies with both of them.
2. Yes, this has one of those plots where the hero behaves like an utter asshole, trying to separate a child from his mother.

However, what makes the book interesting is the journey of love between the MCs. He desperately wants to know his son, and blackmails his child's mother/ ex's twin to marry him. The heroine loves her son, and reluctantly agrees, having being betrayed by her ex and the law. Their marriage is passionate, but cold- that is until he achieves his goal and impregnates her. The tables then turn, and the heroine takes her time making him suffer. However, a complication in the pregnancy makes them come together. Loads of dramatic births and confessions later, we get a HEA.

Desperate heroine, demanding hero, cute son, loads of angst, passionate lovemaking, sister drama and very Bollywood-ish twin magic, difficult pregnancy and a satisfying ending with a bittersweet message.

Overall, a good read.

"The Wrong Mirror" is a huge roller-coaster by Emma Darcy. With the twin aspects heavily tied to the story, the authors success in opening up the passionate growing love between Karen Balfour and the one man she truly detests, the adventurous Hal Chissolm was a incredible experience. The relationship between Hal and Karen´s twin Kristy had been a truly toxic one, only if Karen knew how Hal had been tormented through it. There is no way in denying that Kristy had been so sick with her selfish love for Hal until her death..and in same ways both Hal and Karen had been victims to it. But the means for Hal to extract his revenge on Karen of denying him his son was exhilarating, and the way the sensual and fire-hot chemistry simmered between Hal and Karen...yeah i just love it all!

I have read three other books by ED, and none of those excluded the savage force like Hal did as a hero in this book. This is a Unforgettable Keeper where ED actually made a very hard trope so much unique! The best book i have read by Darcy so far, and one i will 100% re-read in the future...!

What was wrong with this author.
I don’t know how she could write such a cringing and weird book.
It’s about identical twins with telepathic connection.
Ok, this can be understandable.
The heroine wakes up and feels her twin has died.
Twin gave her son in adoption to the heroine who could not have children because she told her that hero didn’t want children and she loved him too much to leave him. So she left her son. Wtf. She was a reporter and so was the hero. They accepted more and more dangerous assignments until twin was killed.
Before dying she confessed to the hero she had his son and her sister had it.
The hero was deceived.
He never knew she was pregnant and he wanted children, it was her who never wanted to marry him and have his children. He thinks sisters deceived him and now wants his child. So he tells the heroine if she wants to stay with his child she has to marry him. Of course she accepts reluctantly. He wants a real marriage too and other children. A few hours after the marriage he basically forcibly seduces her.
Sex is the best they ever had but of course the heroine is quite grumpy afterwards. I would be too, being forced to have sex with a complete stranger. Why he forced that thing I don’t understand. He could have waited for some weeks for them to know. Never mind, this book is nonsense from start to end.
Weeks go by and sex is always wonderful but they barely communicate.
Nonetheless the heroine falls in love with the hero. Why? She gets pregnant immediately and I could have bet she did since her twin and the hero never had problem to conceive.
Just as she wants to tell him she’s pregnant and she loves him, he has a bipolar attack and becomes grumpy and nasty, ranting and raving about how she and her sister deceived him . I swear I don’t know what that was about. Then after some months of ice age in their house, she starts feeling strange and guess what, she has twins. This weird kind of twins who are mirror twins, who are one the opposite of the other and they are telepathic. Uhm nice. The hero then realizes what twin told him before dying. She asked him to marry his twin because she was the right person for him. He chose the wrong mirror. So, if I’ve got it right, the twin was madly in love with the hero but knew he wasn’t in love with her because he could only be in love with his twin who was the perfect match for him. She felt guilty so she gave her child to the heroine as some kind of compensation for stealing who she knew was her sister’s twin soul, and she felt so bad that she became reckless and unhappy in a suicidal kind of way.
Eventually she died and asked him to marry his sister knowing they were twin soul.
Bizarre? Crazy as a bat? Unbelievable? Cringy?
I don’t know how a book like this could be conceived.
First Husband and hero were awful. Heroine is not lucky with men.
The hero’s cruelty was meaningless and very unusual for this writer.
Some of his antics were not justified. His forced seduction, his refusal to wait, his threats to steal the child by the woman he knew as his mother, his final outburst. The man should be locked in a sanatorium.
And the topping on the cake. Same d..k for two identical twins. How could she? But more, how could he? He says he never compared them but who could believe him? They were identical. Yuck double yuck. No way.
The poor child will be brother and cousin of his two spooky twins, who surely will grow up to be as weird as her mother.
Jeez. I need a drink. Make it double.

Ok I should have a new shelf here sisters sloppy seconds! Yuck! I had to pretend that is was not a real relationship with the sister but just an image of the heroine. Omg was this book just nuts! The whole mirror twin thing was just crazy! I can't believe how she gives her sister her baby then give her her man. Wtf! Did I miss something? If this twin thing mean you share everything? Yuck and it was a good story but man that whole sharing your lover with your sister screamed wrong to me!!! I mean telling your lover to marry your sister please! What??? I have two sisters and I would not want them to ever sleep with my husband of give them my babies! How messed up is that? I have had best friends identical twins growing up and they never ever shared their man. Just saying. It's creepy cause they have the same face and all how do you ever know he is not sleeping with your sister? Come on! Gross.

I’ll start with the “didn’t like” parts. Why did Karen hold the funeral and burial in another country? Why didn’t she bring her sister home? That sort of jolted me out of the story and I flipped back to see if I’d missed something.
For twins who were so close as to be telepathic, why didn’t she understand her sister’s personality traits? I can see that as she never met Hal (and why was that btw?) she would not have any insight into his character, but not having insight into her mirror twin was hard to believe.
And the mirror twin phenomena? 25% of twins are mirror twins, so why it should be a medical, woo-woo miracle is kind of bizarre.
There is a serious ick factor of twins having the same lover. I don’t understand Hal staying with her for 6 years and making major life changes to protect her if he didn’t love her.
I did like the angst, the writing style and in the end that saved the book for me making it an enjoyable read.
I wanted inside Hal’s head. I think more of his POV would have helped me understand (and maybe accept) why he stayed with Kirsty for six years.

If you can get past the male lead having a long term relationship with one sister, then when she dies getting it on with twin number two. Then go for it, oh and they’re mirror twins.
As for me this had the yuck factor

4 Stars ~ Karen and her sister Kirsty are identical twins and share a telepathic bond where one twin experiences the feelings of the other during intense physical or emotional trauma. Kirsty is the extroverted twin, a thrill seeking journalist always on the look out for the next wild adventure. Karen is the homebody, a kindergarten teacher, divorced when her infertile husband rejected Karen's adoption of Kirsty's baby. When Kirsty fell pregnant by her lover and partner journalist, Hal, she viewed it as a gift to her sister and in turn it kept Hal for herself. The sisters promised neither would ever tell Hal what became of the pregnancy, in fact, Karen had never met Hal and believed he hadn't wanted children.

This story opens with Karen waking in the middle of the night feeling her sister's agony and knowing that Kirsty is dying. Karen's frantic and worries how she'll find her before it's too late, as Kirsty is in the Middle East and Karen is in Sydney. In moments, Karen realizes it's already too late, Kirsty's gone and she feels a hollowness that overwhelms her. She waits for morning and she'll make the call to Hal's father who is the media mogul that employed both Kirsty and Hal. Before she can make the call though, Hal's father, Owen is at her door. He comes with the news that Kirsty had died tragically from an explosion in Tel Aviv, and that Hal was also critically injured. But with that news comes more heartache, for Kirsty's dying words to Hal were to confess that she'd given his son to Karen. Owen tells Karen that Hal may not survive his injuries and that he wished one look at the son he'd never known about. Karen's bitterly angry at Hal's lie, for Kirsty had told her Hal hadn't wanted children and Kirsty had to sacrifice David to hold on to the man she loved.

At the hospital in Tel Aviv, Karen shows Hal his three year old son, David. And when Hal asks her why Kirsty hadn't told him about the baby, Karen can't hold her pain and she lashes out, blaming Hal for that decision and for making Kirsty live a life always at risk. Hal bitterly accuses Karen of stealing his son and vows that he'll come find her. Months later, Karen gets word that Hal is back in Sydney almost fully recovered and isn't surprised when he comes to her door. He states his case, Kirsty and Karen had both lied during the adoption claiming that the father had been unknown and this lie shall undo Karen's legal hold on David. He gives her an option, an ugly custody battle where she'll be certain to lose David, or she can marry him and remain the only mother the boy has known. The kick to this is that Hal doesn't just want a marriage in name only, he wants the whole deal, he wants Karen and more children.

I must say that the whole twins sharing the same man thing was a struggle to overcome. Ms. Darcy has Karen internalizing her fears and revulsion that she's only a replacement for Kirsty and wonders how Hal can stomach to make love to her. What makes it work for me from Karen's point of view is that she'd never met Hal before and only knew of him from what her sister told her. As she slowly comes to realize that Kirsty had lied about so many things about Hal, she can see the man buried behind his bitterness. Hal's emotions are mostly kept under wraps with only a few descriptions of pained looks or winces at bitter words, that give us a sense that there is more to this man than the brute he projects. Hal's love for Kirsty was self admittedly luke warm; he loved her but wasn't in love with her, staying with her only because she'd become so reckless in her pursuits that he worried for her safety. The story takes a turn when Hal realizes that Karen hadn't conspired to steal David at all and that Kirsty had loved him in her twisted sort of way.

Ms. Darcy has a flare for creating couples that are soul mates but whose journey of discovery is marred by tremendous pain and misunderstanding. The dynamics of the plot are somewhat over the top, but Ms. Darcy cleverly pushes on and gives a HEA worth waiting for. In a Dear Reader letter for her 100th book, she looks back upon The Wrong Mirror as one of her favourites for the "sheer life drama" and how she "wept many tears living those situations."

There's an undercurrent tension through the whole story, really wonderful. It's so classical, him and her fighting over a new-discovered child but I liked the easy relationship between father and son and grandfather and nephew.

I didn't understand the dead twin and her relationships with hero and heroine. I'd like to know her reasons. Why didn't she tell him about her being pregnant? And why she told her before dying when it's clear she didn't have any feelings for her son. A last loving act for the hero? I didn't understand it.

I liked the hero, less the heroine, I'd like her to have more backbone. She really weeps a lot.

wonderful line:
"And if you ever want to father children, Hal Chissolm, marry the woman first. "

This was definitely different, and the mirror twin stuff was a nice twist. It was a little long though, and the romance only got compelling toward the end. Overall I liked it, but on some level couldn't get past the identical twin sisters -- how do we really know that Hal loved Karen and not Kirsty? And it was pretty sad that Kirsty died feeling unrequited love toward Hal. Anyway, worth a read for the unusual plot if you're in the mood for an older HP.

Not sure what to say about this one. Enemies to lovers?
Blaming each other for their losses. Getting involved with your deceased twins partner? Lots of angst.

An HEA but did not ring true.

I read this as a homage to Emma Darcy (RIP to my beloved small format author who I credit for turning me into a romance devotee). I still love her writing style, with her spare language, intense bursts of emotion, and vivid Australia backdrops. This particular story feels super dated with a heroine who starts out helpless and weeping, pitched against an angry bully of a hero who says things like "Taming you will now give me so much more satisfaction." The bully sex is followed immediately by realization of love, truly disturbing from modern POV. She feels shamed by displaying enthusiasm in bed and quits work when he tells her to, sigh. Made me realize how far we've come in thirty years. Avoid, if old school romance is not your cuppa.

I was obsessed with this romance in high school, mainly because I thought the idea of mirror image twins was very cool and I really wanted to know if they existed. I ordered it as an adult and read again today and a few years ago when I found it used; it is weird but I still like the book.

One of my absolute favourite books. I have read it more than once and plan to read it again at some point.

I think this author has an unhealthy twin obsession! I checked this book out deliberately after I read (or rather attempted to read) another twin book of hers, and I don't know which one is worse!

Mirror image twins! Dr. Know-it-All telling the MC the twins' personalities and how they'll act before they're even born! "Be sure one sits on the right side of the other, because if they sit on the wrong side, it'll be traumatic!" Unbelievable!

Treat twin children like individual people they'll act like people! Treat them like medical specimens (or sideshow freaks) and you deserve whatever you get!'

Naturally, the h is also a twin, with a psychic connection to her late sister, who sounded to me like she needed to be on meds! NOT because she was a twin, but because she was unbalanced in some ways.

I never understood why people get so loony over lookalike siblings; twins, triplets, whatever, they're individuals, not two halves of a whole, one third of a person, or some other nonsense!

Don't dress them alike, it's not cute, it's DUMB! Different clothes, different hairstyles, and above all different personalities, reinforce differences, don't downplay them!

Who knows how much damage was done because people chose to act like idiots!

Well, I'm off my soapbox now! I'll just add that the "romance" between the H and h was not worth reading this book for. Considering the h's crap ex, she sure was a loser at picking men!

Sabah evine ulaşan kişi Kirsty'nin sevgilisi Hal'in babasıdır ve onunla birlikte yola çıkarlar.

This book had a unique premise: a pair of mirror twins who get involved with the same man. The twin theme was interesting and present throughout the book. And yes, there is definitely an ICK factor that two sisters had a sexual relationship with the same man. Kirsty, the h's twin, dies at the beginning of the book. What really bothered me was the length of her relationship with Hal lasted six years until her death! Two months after Kirsty's death, Hal gives Karen an ultimatum that she has to marry him so he can have custody of his child who was adopted illegally and she's been raising since birth.

Emma Darcy doesn't do a good enough job of

I have to say I will never forget this book. It's not a favorite but it was interesting.

Ok, so i am a female identical mirror twin myself (I’m the first-born/left handed one.... sis is the second-born left handed one).... while the ESP angle may be a bit over-played, i agree that it is a thing, under extreme conditions... but not always.

As a twin, i had some real issues thinking one twin could adjust/adapt to loving the same man as twin sis.... couldn’t happen for me.... but i might/could see where with certain twins (in my humble opinion, this scenario would be most likely with non-mirror twins), i could see this.

I could also see how the first twin might have fallen in love, but known/sensed that it was actually her inverse/mirror who was the true match.

Truly original story/plot angle.... and in terms of mirror twins, VERY much on target/plausible.

I generally hate one man + 2 sisters plots, especially as these two are twins and he has/had sex with both of them (not at the same time, obvs, HP not KU) but...whether it's because one died and was no threat? I could just about cope with this. My daughter has a friend who's slept with 2 brothers and is now long term with one of them and I'm thinking that must make for quite a dynamic around the xmas dinner table. At least our h, Karen, will not have to face her twin, Kirsty, over a turkey. It's all pretty nuts and the H Hal, is a bit of a moody git (grimace- not my type, prefer more emotional continence). She's a bit of a cipher but nice enough. A bit pedestrian but still very readable.

Intense and emotional, just what I wanted, not graphic. I’m not sure when he fell for her or what his black moods were about, or how he reconciled attraction to twins. I think he hated that he had forced her to marry him, as in his comment "You're married to a man you don't like, forced to share a child you don't want to share and you're playing a waiting game." He can't believe he's happy, that she's happy despite being forced into marriage. He's terrified she'll somehow turn the tables on him.

The H had a 6 year relationship with the twin sister, was literally with her up until she died then married the h for the kid a couple weeks later and started sleeping with her straight away…a bit too icky for me.

I didn't like that she married her sister's boyfriend but the plot twist in the end was amazing and I ended up liking the book. Very easy and quick to read.
