I, Shana Berrie, am my sister's official navy "parenting plan." That means I'm in charge of adorable Jazmine until my sis returns. But—surprise!—nine-year-olds have lots of opinions, including ones on my love life (or lack thereof ). Now she's trying to set me up with our family friend, Adam Kennedy. Excuse me—Lieutenant Commander Adam Kennedy. So he's great looking and very helpful (if dictatorial), but I am not in the market for a navy husband.

really... I felt it was a solid 4 to 4 1/2. I am saying this because when I compare Navy baby to this book... that is how I came up with its rating. Navy Baby was an awesome book in this series. I had a full review for Navy Babyin the series but lost it when I jigging around my shelves in Goodreads. Will eventually post another.
Lost a more complete review to this one too. oops again at the same time when working shifting shelves around.
The final book in the Navy series. Ali who is the Navy tragically lost her Navy husband. She Here assigned to ship duty for 6months. Her daughter must live with her sister. I adore Jazmine. A procotious 9 yr old. Way too smart for her own britches. Don't worry no steamy sexual parts like in the 1st five.
I enjoyed this story. It was a great girl meets boy story with the help of girls niece. After a bad breakup Shana moves and on an impulse buys an ice cream/pizza parlor. Settling in her new life she gets the call from his sister that she’s heading out to sea for the first time for 6 months. Her daughter Jaszmine needs to come and live with her. Reluctantly she has her come What happens is them trying to settle in a routine and not having the time she feels she needs to Jadzmine invites her Uncle Ryan. While on sea her mom falls for her Lt Commanderand how throufh emails the sisters come together and love envolbes for both. Great story!
Navy Husband is by Debbie Macomber. This novel deals with being married to a naval officer and losing him and falling for one. It deals with Naval families having to leave their children behind when ordered abroad. It is a very good book and easy to read. Shana has her life in an uproar. She broke up with her boyfriend after five years, decided to leave town, spent her savings for an ice cream/pizza restaurant, and moved. She hopes she made the right decision, although she knew the decision to break up with Brad was right. As she is getting ready to start her life as a business woman, her sister, Ali, calls to let her know that she is bringing her niece Jazmine to live with her for six months while Ali is at sea. Shana had agreed to be guardian for Jazmine years before but that was while Peter was still alive. Now his death changes things. However, Shana has to live up to her agreement. Can she handle a nine-year -old who is being left behind? Ali’s husband Peter had a best friend, Adam Kennedy who was a great friend to both Peter and Ali. He had agreed to be Jazmine’s godfather and took his duties seriously. He had agreed to keep in touch with Jazmine as much as he could and provide her backup when he could. Although he can’t keep Jazmine on his own, he can take time to drop in and help Shana out. That is, if she wants his help. Torn between her feelings and what is best for Jazmine, Shana allows Adam into her new life. Just how far will he come into her life?
Debbie's romance stories are great reads for relaxing and dreaming of the perfect love story. The two sisters, Shana and Ali, remind me of my own sister. The Navy references remind me of my life as a Navy brat and AF wife. That only made the story more enjoyable to me because it was relatable. Little Jazmine is a character with her child personality and grown up intentions. She somehow manages to get both the sisters married off in her mind, long before anything ever happens. But happens it does. You just have to read this to see what and to whom. Fans of Debbie's will not be disappointed!
This was absolutely adorable. I loved the characters, the settings, the tension, the anticipation. It was just amazing. I found myself actually missing the characters as if they were people days after I finished the book.
I only have two things I would’ve changed. First is for a 9 year old, she seems 27. And although she is supposed to seem mature, I still feel like she should’ve actually been able to be 9. And second, the ending was so fast. It was like 3 pages and they were married and pregnant. Like woah. It has only been a couple months. Slow down now.
But those are my only two things and they were minor so 4 stars.
This was a pretty good book. It started out a little slow but as I kept reading, I started to like it more.
Shana's sister is called to duty as part of her Navel responsibility and will be gone for 6 months. Her husband died 2 years prior so Shana is the only person available to watch 9-year-old Jasmine. Shana has just changed careers and cities and isn't sure she is ready for the responsibility of watching a nine-year-old. Jasmine's Godfather, Adam, is off on sick leave and is a big part of Jasmine's life.
Jasmine is sure that Adam and Shana should be together, and it works out in the end.
A quick an easy read. Shana breaks up with Brad, her male friend of 5 years and decides it’s time for a fresh start. She leaves her job, moves to Seattle, and buys an ice cream-pizza shop. Then Shana’s sister calls to ask a favor. Ali, a navy nurse, has been called into service on the USS Woodrow Wilson and she needs a someone to watch her 9-year old daughter Jazmine, for her 6 month tour of duty. How will she handle it all? A move, learning to run a business, taking care of Jazmine and why can’t she get along with Jazmine like Uncle Adam?
This was a sweet story. After reading this entire series, I felt the love between the characters but every story was filled with fast marriage. I still loved the books. With this one, I feel with the involvement of Jasmine she should have been a little older then 9 for how much she was involved in all these relationship. I have children this age and I would have seen the involvement if the child was more like 12 but all in all it was a cute story.
Nine year old Jasmine is staying with her Aunt Shana while her single mom Ali is deployed in the Navy. Jasmine is a funny, quirky, intelligent young girl who is trying to set her Aunt Shana up with the best friend of her deceased father. Jasmine keeps this book funny and upbeat with her undercover activites the get them together. Fun read.
For me, Debbie Macomber's more recent book series are much more satisfying than her earlier series. Navy Husband is an early work, a quick read so light on anything bearing reality, it nearly flew away into fantasy land. I'll skip the rest of the Navy series, because Debbie, your Rose Harbor series has spoiled me!
As an Air Force wife (22 years retired) I really appreciated this Navy series. The problems are common to all branches of the military and the author made me laugh and made me cry. How appropriate to finish this series on Memorial Day.
This was a fun and great read! I love Debbie Macomber's stories, and this one is great! Another sweet story of overcoming hurt and finding true love. I believe I have read most, if not all, of the navy series now. Well written and engaging. Love them!
Second couple Frank and Ali better than main though. This book could have more details I think. The romance shows to us respect for child opinion ...But thanks to the author for relaxing, easy reading love story🤘!
Shana dumped Brad, quit er job and moved and bought a pizza and ice cream shop. Ali s deployed for 6 months and sends her daughter to live with Shana. Both fall in love. Loved the daughter Jazmine. Spunky and precocious, hard to believe she was only 9
Always count on Debbie Macomber to write a great escapist story when I need a mental /emotional break from heavier stuff. Read this in a couple hours and enjoyed it.
This was a wonderful story, very well thought out and presented. The story showed how our human nature can cause us to lose someone we love of we let pride rule over us.
