The battle continues at Duel Academy. Jaden beats Bastion to the semi finals, as does Chazz to the new comer, David, but in a Shadow Game, as which has never been seen in Duel Academy before. To Ms. Hibiki, Jaden and Yuki, it has been made clear that what the American exchange students are after are spirit cards. The lose at the Shadow game cost David greatly, and it is now clear to Reggie, the other exchange student, that the mighty spirit controlling David is afraid of Chazz's Light and Darkness dragon. As Yugi and and Chazz take on each other, Ms. Hibiki runs into Reggie, and wants answers. What she gets is a duel. The result of both of these will be shown in the next book. A book of battles, and nothing less, with a nail biting cliffhanger; for the ultimate Yu-Gi-Oh lovers.

Jaden a duelist has to go on its limits and fight other people using his strategy. Also the heart of the cards. Jaden cares about its cards and treat from real well and with respect. His key point to win each duel is by believing in the cards

I think this book might be about believing. In a different way of believing it can be think before you do something with trust in it. Like your love ones in family. To succeed in life you might have at least once or twice believing in someone that they can do it.

I recommend this book to people that love yugioh because the theme would always turn up the same maybe since its always dueling,. Still people that like manga and especially yugioh i reccomended for you.

I picked this up from a Little Free Library, and might not have given it a try were it not for the fact that I just read the Yu-Gi-Oh Official Handbook (also from a Little Free Library), which gave me some idea of the backstory.

Yu-Gi-Oh GX takes place years after the original series and features a next-generation scenario with a group of aspring duelists attending a Duel Academy, one of several such schools around the world dedicated to the Duel Monsters game.

This is the fourth volume, so we're in the middle of things, in this case, a tournament for the honor of dueling legendary champion Zane "Kaiser" Truesdale. The semifinals have come down to Jaden Yuki against Bastion, and Chazz versus David Rabb.

Jaden has to deal with an opponent who has constructed his deck specifically to beat Jaden's strategy, while Chazz finds himself up against dark magical forces as David engages him in a shadow duel where damage causes real pain.

A flashback to ancient Egypt gives a bit more background on the long-term storyline as the stage is set for the finals. Meanwhile, Duel Academy teacher Ms. Hibiki suspects something unusual is happening involving David, but David's sister, Reggie, is aware of her suspicions.

This exceeded my expectations by a lot. First of all, I was impressed with how interesting the book managed to make the card duel sequences that were at the heart of this issue. Even with my (extremely) limit knowledge of the Yu-Gi-Oh TCG, I was able to follow the action and ended up really enjoying these scenes.

The flashback sequence did a nice job of building up some of the lore. This had, admittedly, a lot of characters to keep track of, but I found it surprisingly accessible considering I was jumping in at Volume 4.

Very fast-paced volume!
The duel competition is ON! Fighting for the chance to duel against the "greatest" Zane. Syrus' older brother is cool as a cucumber and impressed with how the freshman seem to be proving their own. Bastion faces Jayden and it's a close match! But of course the main character pulls through. Chazz faces the American Student and has to go into a shadow game with the chance of losing his spirit card. We get some backstory on this mysterious shadow and how he's tied to the Millennium Items and Pharaoh for some nice canon continuation.

It left off with the start of Jayden and Chazz's rematch duel but unlike the OG YGO series, I think these duels are slightly more predictable. This is a lot lighter so far and we're about halfway through the entire series already. So, not my favorite but still cute and simple reads.

The semi-finals officially begin in the Duel Academy tournament. Volume 4 sees Jaden and Bastian have their rematch... only this time Bastian is ready for him. Chazz and David, the American student, face off in a sinister shadow game. The volume ends with the two victors of those duels beginning their bout. I loved the strategies deployed in this volume; as we get enjoyable countermeasures that do not depend on luck of the draw. The art is also a highlight; with many gorgeous double page spreads for those boss monster summons. Vo. 4 delivers on the fun factor, and the duels are well paced. Even if the stakes don't quite soar as high as previous series did.

We finally know about the backstory of the main villain and we do see that it is a character that is related to the events of the Millennium Items and I do like that the two main characters are connected to the main villain through there cards. As we never really got an origin of Winged Kuriboh aside that he got it from Yugi and it was never really explained why it was a spirit card.

This one’s a step up from the last couple. Bastion’s build designed to lock Jaden out of his strategies is really unique and interesting, the art’s back up to par, and all the rest is quite solid.

This book was about kids that are duelist that play a card game for school. in this book it is about the Semifinal of the tourterment. the player in it is one of the main characters jaden, baston, chazz and syrus. chazz plays in a shadow game so for each damage he take he get hurt in real life. then chazz proceeds to win to play jaden in the finals.

i think there isnt really a message in this book. if i were to say there was i would say it is no matter how hard something may get you should still proceed until what you doing is over so in short term never give up. i see this because even when chazz was in a shadow game he never gave up and he won.this would really affect me because anything i do i would never give up until the end and even if you lose you keep practicing. like everyone says practice makes perfect.

i really like this book because it is a graphic novel. it is really interesting and it gets you to keep wanting to read and keep on ready. it really gets me going.i relate to it because i use to play the card game so it is very interesting.

Pertarungan semi-finalnya kayak diburu-buru. Pertarungannya Manjome dengan David harusnya dibuat lebih tegang lagi. Pertarungannya mereka kan penting gitu :s
