I have started reading this book knowingly that it talks about crystals/minerals from the New Age perspective --it's the subtitle of the book after all-- cause I wanted to see how far it would go. Interestingly, I am happy to learn new things about geology mentioned in this easily readable book, plus, an analytical explanation of how crystals are formed at the atomic level. In fact, they are so well presented and explained in simple english, that the title of the book could also be "Crystallology for Dummies (from a metaphysical point of view)". Mineralogy terms, crystals classification, the different environments of crystal growth, mining and extraction of crystals etc. All of them with their drawings and figures; so much valuable information, clearly written. Very important read for the novice enthusiast of minerals/crystals. I have learned so much from this book, which --I will repeat again is well written-- and from a person that is quite sensitive to the subtle energies around him. The author is both a scientist, geologist and a psychic mystic.

The subtitle of the book is: "Crystal Consciousness and the New Age", but the author has changed that in his new edition of this book: "Cosmic Crystals: The Ultimate Course in Crystal Consciousness" (no New Age involved this time). At the New Age information related to crystals, the author is mentioning Atlantis couple times. Now. Atlantis was mentioned by Plato himself and personally I am not disregarding this idea of that ancient civilization that sank in the bottom of the Atlantic ocean. But, here we have the New Age version of the Atlantean civilization and behind that we find again madame Blavatsky and the Theosophists. At the end of the book there's even more detailed information about Atlantis and the hypothetical life existed there, where the author is mentioning the priesthood, that they removed the large crystals etc. So, this whole part (about 5-6 pages) leaves a strange sensation in the gut and it kind of belittles the informative, interesting and valuable information about crystals and the finely sensed energy, that I read at the previous chapters of this book.
Conclusively, a very good book for someone who wants to learn more about the metaphysical aspects of the crystals and the Mineral Kingdom. Thus, the exact rating for this book would be 3.5 stars.
