On the run from a murderous uncle, Katie Beaumont married outlaw Ben Cready the day before he was supposed to hang. They shared one night of explosive passion and for six months, she'd believed herself a widow. Now Ben is back to claim what's his, and that includes the sweet bride he'd never been able to forget.
E. Jamie lives in Toronto, Canada. She has been writing since the age of eleven and hasn't been bored a day in her life since.
E. Jamie stands for hot. Hot sexy stories that make your toes and everything else curl. It stands for passionate tales that leave the bedroom door wide open and leave you begging for more.
She decided to take the plunge into writing erotica for publication (after writing it for free for more years than she should have been. Naughty girl) and was snapped up by Amira Press first.
In her free time she likes to read and counts Paullina Simons, Diana Gabaldon, Julia Quinn, Victoria Alexander, Catherine Anderson and Lisa Kleypas among her favorite authors. She loves to listen to music while she writes and suggests movies soundtracks are some of the best music to write to. She is in love with the TV show Supernatural and thinks Jensen Ackles was born simply to inspire her to write smut. As she is a Days Of Our Lives fan, she believes James Scott falls into this category as well.
She loves to cook as she considers it yet another wonderful creative outlet though much to her chagrin she cannot make soup.
The Outlaw’s Wife, by E. Jamie: 3 “Monica Clean” Stars
HERE’S A UNINTERESTING FACT ABOUT ME:
Monica Geller from Friends* ain’t got nuthin’ on me. I own 6 vacuum cleaners! If there’s a bit of debris, dust, or dirt hiding in my home, I will find it and I WILL VACUUM IT! And when I’m done vacuuming, I vacuum my vacuums.
So, it’s no surprise that I find the lack of personal hygiene in some erotic romances, especially the historical western ones, a tad off putting. Because, let’s face it, the frontier wasn’t exactly chock-full of toothpaste, deodorant, and shampoo! And don’t get me started on the lack of indoor plumbing and it’s effect on bathing schedules! So, yeah! Imagining two odiferous, foul breathed, oily haired people going at it, usually makes my inner clean freak go:
For the record, I DO like dirty romances! I just don’t want them to be, well… like literally “dirty”!
Which is why my inner clean freak was really impressed and grateful to discover an erotic historical western featuring main characters that bathed A LOT! Impressed and grateful enough to give this 2 star novella 1 additional star.

Disclaimer: I bought the book and waited to read it when the synopsis was not clear in my mind anymore. I enjoy more this way.
The story begins in a way that got me chills of excitement even when I didn't knew what was happening at that exact same moment.
I could so easily picture Katie in that scene and it was the grabbing moment for me.
I'm not much to read historical romances but I got used to the world of them during the year. I don't usually look for them but from time to time I found this pretty good stories that are not to long and left me with a feeling of longing when I'm done with them and a smile on my face. This was one of those kinds of books for me and I absolutely loved it.
Ben was what I was expecting for an outlaw like him to be and Katie was very sweet. Even more honestly? She was adorable! And amazing job E.Jamie with the way she developed as a character with Ben until the end. I could see her more sure of herself and her marriage at the end, just how I like it.
The way the story progresses doesn't seem forced or fast at all. The writing was well done and I have to admit that was one of the parts that worries me the most when I read new authors, that the writing it's not up to my likings but it was.
What surprise me a little more were the scenes when the characters let their love shown in a passionate way... Ok, not sugar coating it. The erotic scenes were great!
The fact that I've loved this first book that I've read from this author makes me think that I would love her other works even more.
I am not big on short stories. Even more so in historicals. I thought the author did an ok job relaying the story. There were several questions I think she could answered by the end but that is neither here nor there. Basically the leading couple has a marriage of convienence before he is scheduled to be executed. Little did she know that he would be back later and they would have to get to actually know each other and try to convince him that a normal life with her and a family is the best future for him. He just needs to over come his past, and she needs to deal with her Uncle. The romance is steamy and the writing is pretty good....
Redemption had me hooked from the get go with Katie being scared by her supposedly dead husband. She saw him last at a gallows and here he is standing in her kitchen. Ben has a sweet hardness to him that compliments Katie’s shy but determined demeanor. Watching these two married strangers become accustomed to each other, falling in love in between very hot lovemaking sessions made this book a fantastic read. Ms. Jaime created the perfect romantic western in my opinion!
Very short, only 70 pages long. It wasn't able to fill in all the blanks and left you with many unanswered questions. Maybe if it was a bit longer and able to answer the many questions then it would have deserved a higher star rating.
I enjoyed reading The Outlaw’s Wife for all the unexpected love between the main characters. They really didn’t know each other but a love grew as they made love with each other. They learned to appreciate each other’s positive traits along with their time in bed. I only wished the book was longer as the story could be fleshed out as the characters were developed on the page. It has the potential to be a much longer book with the love scenes keeping the interest high. Great job, Author!
Read this book shortly after it was published, but it still remains on my Kindle as an "oldie but goodie." The book starts quickly with the return of the main H. We then learn in flashback H and h's history. Sorry, I read this so long ago that I don't remember their names. However, I remember that I liked this book enough to read again.
At the time, I found the plot to be familiar and yet unique. We have hte "bad" hero who has done things he shouldn't have, but is on the road to redemption. We have the innocent heroine who is running away from crooked relatives and is at the edge of despair when the Hero saves her. What was unique for me was the twist. He Hero, thinking he was going to be hanged, saved the heroine by marrying her to protect her (since she'll be able to hide with a different name and widows are treated better than single women) and gives her his house. Fast forward to the present and it turns out the Hero was not hanged after all. We then read about these two unlikely opposites trying to go forward with their marriage.
The book and the characters are very straight-forward. There is no period of wishy washiness where the characters consider divorce or anything like that. The husband is back, they are married, and now they are going to go forward as a married couple. I think that is what was most refreshing to me. This couple actually did talk and there was little room for misunderstandings just for the sake of creating drama.
My first historical western romance. This is a really short read. Could probably qualify as a novella, rather than a novel. Actually, the writing was quite good with the exception of the major plot point, which happened without explanation or discussion. I'd like to know how the heroine's uncle found her all of a sudden. But there was no description of that information. We'll never know.
Review Blurb: I appreciated that Katie had been awakened sexually by her husband for one amazing night, only to have it snatched away. No wonder she experiments with herself in his absence, playing over the images of their joining as a means to rekindle the desire Ben ignited within her.
