About the author

Yukito Kishiro (Japanese: 木城ゆきと) is a Japanese manga artist born in Tokyo in 1967 and raised in Chiba. As a teenager he was influenced by the mecha anime Armored Trooper Votoms and Mobile Suit Gundam, in particular the designs of Yoshikazu Yasuhiko, as well as the works of manga artist Rumiko Takahashi. He began his career at age 17, with his debut manga, Space Oddity, in the Weekly Shonen Sunday. He is best known for the cyberpunk series Battle Angel Alita.

Alita is back! But... as neko-Alita! Yes, she seems to be stronger than ever but she has a tail and all she does is say meow meow. Oh, wait, she speaks normally. But she does have a tail. But that's really an only plus in this book, otherwise this fantastic series is quite clearly deteriorating. With all boring karate talk and neverending parade of karatists, I really hope the Z.O.T.T. is finishing soon... yaaaawn...

Sigh... Last Order no es tan genial como lo fue Gunnm en la primera serie. En esta continuación, seguimos las aventuras de Alita, la trama es interesante, los personajes nuevos también son muy buenos, en especial me encanta Sechs que es la versión masculina de Alita. Pero igual ya se perdió algo, aunque reconozco que el esfuerzo del autor por continuar la serie es muy bueno.
No estoy nada desalentada a continuar, la acción sigue así que yo también.

More fighting. Alita is back but has a cat's tail now which doesn't quite fit with the style. Karate Planet is just a silly sidebar in this story.

Этот том можно условно разделить на две части: 1) когда используются самые избитые ходы и 2) когда просто скучно. Кое-кто трумфально вернулся из небытия в 100500-ый раз, на этот раз прокачавшись до космического уровня. Какие-то рандомные чуваки дерутся за право занять место в команде. Опять карате, теперь со схемой развития разных школ. Господин Подбородок, которого по праву можно считать антагонистом серии Last Order, получает предысторию в духе плюнуть и растереть.

Круто же, когда протагониста долго прижимают, а потом он бац! встает с колен и раздает всем обидчикам пинки и т.д.? Автор Алиты подходит к этому словно пишет книжку для дошкольников, где в один шаг герой из изгоя превращается во всесильное существо, что на ходу может менять законы вселенной (хотя ничто не предвещало). И если бы это сопровождалось какой-то моралью, но нет – персонаж только упивается собственной силой и работает кулаками, иногда выдавая адское клише исключительно ради того чтобы потянуть повествование.

Серьезно. На этом томе турнир должен был успешно завершиться. Вместо этого герои придумывают причину для продолжения, в духе «давайте еще подеремся, потому что у автора контракт еще на 7 томов». Они выглядят кусками картона, что бесконечно дерутся без определенной цели. Все забыли о Лу, о Каосе, об Идо. Даже о хакере. И о небесном городе, и о городе-помойке. Потому что надо еще помахать кулаками, и сюжет вовсе не обязателен.

If you are a big fan of Karate, boy is this the book for you.

So first thing, Alita is back - finally- and for some reason she now has a cat tail. Which is kind of visually interesting, but doesn't really fit the tone of the book. It seems kind of "cutesy" when the rest of the book is violent, pessimistic, and harsh at times. However, it was still cool to see Alita back, and to see her almost nonchalantly brush aside her enemies attacks. It seems she has a serious powerup from when we last saw her, and I cant wait to see her really let loose.

However, as cool as it was to see Alita, most of this book has to do with the Zot tournament, and even more so - the martial art of Karate. For some reason Yukito Kishiro leans heavily into the Karate aspect of the story, with a literal Karate war breaking out in the Zot tournament. We have the history of Karate, different Karate styles being introduced and explained, Karate as a philosophy... i mean this thing is a Karate ad if I've ever seen one.

Overall, this book got us back on track, but a lot of the details definitely bogged it down. Hopefully Kishiro will keep us on the path back to greatness.

Pretty good Sci fi manga series, really good awesome art and action scenes but the overall story wasn’t that great 😁✌️❤️❤️

Suite des aventures de Gally, même si elle n'est pas le personnage central de ces volumes : tout d'abord la fin de l'histoire du dernier vampire, puis la suite du tournoi du Zott, où elle n'est pas (encore) présente.

Cela me fait penser irrésistiblement à Dragon Ball ! Tournoi d'arts martiaux, personnages affrontant des adversaires de plus en plus forts, et eux-même évoluant radicalement, quitte à mourir (et à ressusciter) pour cela !
Bon, c'est aussi la trame de nombreux manga shônen, comme Yû Yû Hakusho... Mais DB est une sorte de fondamental dans le genre.

La principale différence est dans le scénario, résolument hi-tech / SF, mêlant ultra-violence et intrigue politique ; dans le personnage principal : dans DB, les guerrières sont rares, et loin du niveau des guerriers... ; dans le dessin, toujours aussi fin, dynamique, puissant.
L'auteur mêle émotion et complexe histoire du système solaire, humour parfois grotesque et politique de haut niveau, etc.

Impression et plus fin qu'il n'y paraît.
