Rate this book
From the front flap of this 390-page book: "Millions of people around the world use herbs to improve or maintain their health. The need for professional herbalists has never been greater but available texts are often outdated. The Second Revised Edition of the 'Textbook of Modern Herbology' is a straightforward introduction to the holistic form of herbology practiced in Australasia, Europe, and North America. A student working in the classroom or by correspondence, can now learn the basics of a truly modern herbology in a single book. Integrating physiology, anatomy, biochemistry and botany, the Textbook blends traditional and scientific knowledge as a foundation for effective herbal use. The Textbook reviews each of the major systems of the body and the primary herbs appropriate for those systems. Designed for the first year herbology students and the serious general reader, the 'Textbook of Modern Herbology' provides an excellent grounding for further study and practice."

the emphasis on biology and physiology was awesome. prob like 75% physiology / studying cell types and the rest herby stuff.

just generally in herbalism or other natural medicines - unfortunately - the alt right/anti vaccine pipeline is so real, which is why science at the forefront is so important. while there was no discussion of vaccines or this pipeline phenomenon i mention, the book works to ensure students of the program appreciate modern medicine and study correct, up to date, peer reviewed science.

health is holistic and interdisciplinary and natural medicine can be completely compatible with allopathic medicine. great textbook
