I've heard about runaway bride, even fiancee....but not runaway possible engager to be. Katie Long has a reputation of being a wild child, but when her favorite cop Chris Marks proposes she flees. Although Chris has a plan of his own to show Katie they belong together forever, he is not making progress. However, chef and matchmaker Suzie has some ideas on how to bring the potential bride around.

This one was a bit of a surprise, Katie is running scared and questioning Chris's real intentions. I chuckled a few times, a true delight of a read. How can you go wrong with a naughty librarian and a cop...

I love this series and its connection to Ms. James’ other series, Falls Mountain Romances. It is a small town so many of the same people reappear from book to book and series to series. Nice to be able to see how the romantic matches develop in the end. In this book we are immediately embroiled in Katie Long’s angst. Her boyfriend and dirty-talking $xx partner, younger-man and cop, Chris Marks has asked her to marry him. But she cannot let go of her dreams, none of which involved staying in Harbor Falls and getting married. Besides, she is writing her novel and that takes priority. Right? Of course, the resident matchmaker is called in to shake things up and get things happening. Is she successful or not? Is there another reason for Katie’s reticence? All will be revealed and a peak into the next book in this well-written, fast-paced romance. I volunteered to review an ARC of this book through Booksprout.

Chris and Katie. A tale that asks an age old question but being a romance novel the answer is unexpected. This follows the trials in all the up and down glory of Chris the policeman and Katie the librarian. With the help of friends and neighbors because this is small town living everything eventually gets sorted in the end.
