Olivia Beckett has lived through thousands of lifetimes, dispatching miscreant supernatural creatures alongside her sisters as the mythological trio of Furies. Memories of her past lives begin to appear and haunt her, and she starts questioning everything she thought she knew about her life and her duty. In the midst of a brewing war between the factions of Creatures, Olivia goes against all the rules and falls in love with a human, only to realize he may be connected to her mysterious past. Can she have it all, or will she have to make the ultimate sacrifice in order to stop the war?
This was everything that I was hoping for and enjoyed getting into the Greek mythology elements of this book. The characters felt like they were supposed to and enjoyed getting to know Olivia in this book and the other Furies. This was a strong start to the Olympus Waking series and left me wanting to read more in this series. Shaelynn Long wrote this so well and I was invested in what was going on and enjoyed the writing of this.

Shaelynn weaves a story of intrigue, loss, love, and hope. Olivia's first-person POV takes you into the mind of a mythical Fury dealing with the complexities of her duties and is suddenly thrust into events beyond her control. I highly recommend this wonderfully written story.
Shaelynn Long's Fury's Fate is a quick and enjoyable read. Her "Creatures" are of the supernatural variety that is popular today. However, what held my interest most was that she pulled her main and many supporting characters from Greek mythology. Though there is good character development throughout the book, I did not get as invested in them as I have in other series. It can be enjoyed by both adults and young adults alike, and I look forward to reading the sequel.
Fury’s Fate delivered exactly what I was hoping for- and then some.
Greek mythology? ✔️
A fierce heroine? ✔️
Supernatural chaos?✔️
From the very first chapter, I was hooked. I loved sinking my teeth into the mythological elements and getting to know Olivia and the other Furies. This is a fantastic kickoff to the Olympus Waking series, and it definitely left me wanting the next book immediately.
Shaelynn Long’s writing is smooth, engaging and easy to get lost in.
The story unfolds through Olivia’s first person POV, which drops you straight into the head of a mythical Fury who is used to handing out justice without question- until everything starts going very, very wrong.
Creatures are getting bolder, the rules are breaking down, and Olivia is suddenly wondering if justice without mercy is really justice at all? No pressure right?
Olivia is such a fun protagonist to follow. She’s ancient yet relatable, tough as nails but emotionally conflicted, and refreshingly unapologetic. Alongside her sisters, she’s spent centuries keeping vampires, werewolves, and other supernatural beings in line but when larger forces begin stirring, she’s pushed into situations far beyond her control. The result? Plenty of action, moral dilemmas, and more than a few “oh wow, didn’t see that coming “ moments.
The pacing is strong, balancing- action, character development, and emotional reveals - without slowing things down. The world building is clear and engaging, the magic system makes sense without info-dumps, and the blend of Greek mythology with a modern setting feels natural and effortless. The supporting cast adds tension and heart, and their dynamics with Olivia kept me invested… even when I wanted to yell at them a little.
While Fury’s Fate sets the stage for future instalments, it still feels satisfying on its own. It’s a quick, enjoyable read with sharp twists, a messy and loveable heroine, and mythology that has a real bite. Perfect for both YA and adult readers who want supernatural drama, ancient gods, and a main character worth rooting for! I can’t wait to see where this series goes next!

Olivia is a young woman with a long past. As a mythological Fury, she and her sisters have meted out justice to vampires, werewolves, and other creatures who violate the ancient laws governing their uneasy co-existence with humans. It’s a job she did well and without remorse.
But lately, Olivia has been having trouble at work. The creatures are becoming bolder and more aggressive, as if something more powerful is driving them to rise against the forces that rule their world. At the same time, she is questioning what justice means in the absence of mercy. These questions come together and take Olivia down a path that could change everything about her life—or end it.
Author Shaelynn Long creates a modern fantasy adventure rooted in mythology and with some amazing twists and turns. There were a number of “I did not see that coming and I can’t wait to find out what happens next!” moments in Fury’s Fate. More importantly, Long gives us a compelling character arc. You’ll find yourself rooting for Olivia—and wondering, “How’s she going to get out of this one?”
Fury’s Fate is a sharp, fast-paced modern mythological fantasy that hooked me from the first chapter. The main character is messy, fierce, and refreshingly unapologetic, and the story leans into her anger and vulnerability without turning her into a cliché. I loved how the book blends Greek mythology with a contemporary tone that feels natural rather than gimmicky. The worldbuilding is clear and engaging, and the magic system makes sense without requiring pages of explanation.
The pacing is strong overall, with a good balance of action, character development, and emotional reveals. The supporting cast adds tension and warmth, and the dynamics between them feel authentic. While the book sets up future installments, this volume still feels satisfying on its own. It’s a great pick for readers who want mythology with bite, a flawed heroine worth rooting for, and a storyline that delivers entertainment and emotional depth.
Olivia has been around a while...so long in fact, her memories have gone cloudy. But she knows what she is. Olivia is a Fury, one of three sisters, who have carved out their long lives with the witch blades entrusted to them. Olivia and her sisters are Justice, that is all she knew and all she had ever need know. Until lately.
Now events are happening that have Olivia beginning to question everything. Something that never would have occurred to her to do before. But as more and more unusual evidence piles up so do the bodies.
Fury's Fate is a supernatural suspense, mystery thriller that is chock full of lies, truths, love, hate, justice and redemption. And I would remiss if I didn't mention this book has more than a few turns I didn't see coming.
What a great ride and what an imagination! Kudos to you Shaelynn Long! Fury's Fate is definitely worth the read.
