Published in 1939, Allan Seager did a great job in his research of the five people he did autobiographies of in this book. Each of these people have played a significant role in the history of the United States in bringing to pass much of the independence we enjoy today.
As Mr. Seager says "These ideas have become as much a part of life in America as the sun or the sky. These ideas did not grow up in America spontaneously like trees. These are a part of our inheritance only because these five people had the courage and strength to spread them."
