I don't know why it took me so long to read this book, it shouldn't have done.
A well written if rather implausible story about a chain of five housebuyers, none of whom really want to move. From old Irene Peacock, being hustled out of her flat and into a care home by an impatient daughter, all the way up to a slightly dim but pregnant Royal mistress, being hidden away by the Establishment.
Their stories interweave in a totally implausible but very engaging way.
