Sound reinforcement is the use of audio amplification systems. This book is the first and only book of its kind to cover all aspects of designing and using such systems for public address and musical performance. The book features information on both the audio theory involved and the practical applications of that theory, explaining everything from microphones to loudspeakers. This revised edition features almost 40 new pages and is even easier to follow with the addition of an index and a simplified page and chapter numbering system. New topics covered MIDI, Synchronization, and an Appendix on Logarithms. 416 Pages.
Lots of good basic info and a little more technical info. Taking off one star due to a lot of the information now being a little outdated in regards to technology.
This is a very good book. Strait forward: it is approachable - it is written like an owner's manual and therefore, at times, can seem austere or plain but is an ultimate guide to the mathematical/scientific/acoustic means by which sound is reinforced through amplification
I'm finally done! This book has been a struggle, and I spent a lot of time looking terms and explanations up on the Internet but I'm happyI read it. I feel a lot wiser now, and only time will tell if it was worth my time. I am an amateur who helps out at my church.
Old, but good. The fundamentals of live audio, with plenty of diagrams to help explain the theory and practical application of the text. My copy was printed in 1990 and I’m not sure if it has ever been revised. No matter though, this is a standard text. Recommended.
This is one of the best books on sound reinforcement that I've ever come across. Owning this is a must for every sound engineer, producer, and musician.
Read this after I'd already been doing a lot of mobile DJ work. Would have saved myself a lot of confusion had I been relying on this instead of random DJs for sound guidance.
