Prose: Modern Fantasy
This book is very much intended for younger grades. Talks about a child (a little critter really) helping their sick mother prepare for the arrival of their grandparents. Child has good intentions but ultimately makes more of a mess.

Little Critter knows mom is sick and grandparents are coming after lunch to help out. But he feels he can help mom out before then. And he does as only a small child can. Many repetitive words so the beginner readers can feel confident in reading.
