This volume includes extracts from Edwards private writings and diary, with appendices by his daughter, Esther Burr. This was the first official biography of Edwards, written by his student and colleague. This first reprinting has been retype set with additional information from the original Northampton edition of 1764: Edwards' letter to Joseph Hawley, and "Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God."
