I was so in love with the writer and the book, but was disappointed at the ending. I read so much and couldn’t put it down and told my daughter every bit of the storyline as I read along. Then I felt the ending was closed with less grace than I expected. I could think of four ways to end the secret love that has been carried through the whole book. I also secretly hoped Mazie would meet and change John’s future plans as well. I think it ended with a few loose ends. A full family moment at the end to celebrate the engagement-that actually never happened. He never popped the question. Where would they live? I still give it 4 stars for being enchanting and keeping me up too late at night.
