Unlike some other reproductions of classic texts (1) We have not used OCR(Optical Character Recognition), as this leads to bad quality books with introduced typos. (2) In books where there are images such as portraits, maps, sketches etc We have endeavoured to keep the quality of these images, so they represent accurately the original artefact. Although occasionally there may be certain imperfections with these old texts, we feel they deserve to be made available for future generations to enjoy.
Pitman Benjamin Potter (1892-1981) was a pioneer of the study of international organization.
He was a professor of international organization at the Graduate Institute of International Studies in Geneva from 1932 to 1941, moving to become Grozier Professor of International Law and chairman of the department of international relations and organization at the American University in Washington from 1944 to 1947, where he later served as dean of the Graduate School until his retirement in 1957.
