This was given to me for my 7th birthday by some people who noticed I looked like the main character. It's a weird book for kids, a rambly poem and some dense oil paintings, but I've always loved the look and feel of it, the lack of childishness.

I picked this book up at a used book sale solely because of the cover. A wild haired child stared out at me, and I identified with that wild hair.

Turns out, I identified with the pure poetry in the book too, and I think a lot of others will too.
