Tachibana Higuchi (樋口 橘, HIGUCHI Tachibana), born 1976-03-16 , is a Japanese manga artist. In year 1996, she first made her debut work in Bessatsu Hana to Yume's 5th issue, entitled 5 Gatsu no Sakura (『5月のサクラ』?).
During an interview with Tokyopop, she gave a detailed account of how she started as a mangaka.
"I first submitted a manga story a while after I graduated from high school. Up until then I was studying for the entrance examinations for the Art University, and as part of that, I sometimes drew manga and four-panel strip comics for fun.
"Because I was conscious of the fact that I had started drawing manga in earnest at a later age, I think my progress during the beginning on drawing and storytelling techniques was fast as I frantically tried to absorb everything I could learn about creating manga. After the serialization of the story began, as I got busy, I was so desperate to submit it on time that I feel that the drawings probably haven’t improved much compared to before. During the serialization of the manga, I think my story telling techniques improved more as I concerned myself with how to catch the attention of the readers, how well one can incorporate what the readers are seeking into the story."

La tensión durante todo el tomo... La sensación de que en cualquier momento todo se va a ir al garete... Unmatched!
Ha habido momentos en los que he querido quemarlo todo y el grupito este de las flores me ha parecido una secta PERO la aparición del Persona ha hecho que se me pase y centre todo mi odio en él. No tengo ni idea de qué va a hacerle al Natsume y me da mucho miedo, al igual que el panel final donde este encuentra a la Nobara pero no puede ser?? Pq ella está fuera hablando con Tsubasa y Misaki??? So who's that?? A menos que haya vuelto a entrar o la hayan secuestrado, sea como sea esto es una encerrona como una casa.
Por otra parte el capítulo extra me ha gustado pero otra vez el fucking persona dando mal rollo, porque evidentemente era él, quién se cree, el payaso de it?? Necesito que me expliquen el lore de este tío y que narices hacia ahí. Dejándose de lado ha estado bien ver como se conocieron los de bachillerato y ver cómo conocieron a la madre y el padre de la Mikan :((

Hodnotím 72% Jazyk: Aj
Pěkná kresba, které se dá bohužel hodně věcí vytknout. Občas měly nějaké části těla divnou velikost, jež se prostě nedala přehlédnout, protože to bilo do očí. Také se zde vyskytoval výškový nepoměr mezi různými věkovými skupinami. Taktéž se mi zdálo mnoho postav velice vzhledově podobných, takže se pak hůře rozpoznávali a bylo jednoduché se v tom ztrácet. U tohohle mohu ale přimhouřit oči, jelikož tu bylo charakterů opravdu požehnaně. Abych tady nezmiňovala jenom zápory, tak musím říci, že se mi hodně líbily zjednodušené kresby, design školních uniforem a ostatního oblečení.
Příběh se mi líbil, a dokonce mě některé momenty dojaly až k slzám. Pomyslela jsem si, že je moc hezké vidět něco tak nezkaženého. S odstupem času jsem ale k celému ději o dost skeptičtější. A překvapilo mě, kolik vad jsem byla schopna nalézt. Avšak ještě divnější bylo, že jsem si příběh byla přesto schopna docela užít.
První vadou je věk postav. Nemyslím tím, že je špatné, že jim bylo okolo deseti, ale to, že na svůj věk byli v některých ohledech až moc vyspělí. Řekla bych, že většina ve všech ohledech, protože především hlavní hrdinka měla tendence se k někomu pořád lísat. A kdyby nebyla tak nízcí, klidně bych prohlásila, že jsou na střední škole. Především když vezmu to, jak byli Mikan a Natsume pokročilý ve svém vztahu. Jako neřekla bych, že vášnivé líbání patří k desetiletým dětem. Ke všemu když se ani šesnáctiletí (nebo kolik jim bylo :D) nedostali tak daleko.
Dalším mínusem byla až přílišná zamotanost příběhu. Což bych nebrala obvykle jako vadu, ale tady to bylo až přespříliš. Začalo to někdy za dvacátou kapitolou. Od té doby jsem byla mnohokrát zmatená a nevěděla jsem, o co jde. Když k tomu navíc připočítáme to, jak moc si jednotlivé postavy byly podobné. A za druhé mě to ani nezajímalo, jelikož nějaký svůj příběh měl skoro každý. To je normálně dobrá věc, neboť to dodává příběhu na důvěryhodnosti. Tady to akorát zbytečně natahovalo příběh o nezajímavé informace o nudný charakterech, a když vezmete v úvahu počet postav... Je to pak úmorné.
Vadou číslo 3 jsou nezajímavé postavy, když nepočítám tedy ty hlavní, ty jsem si velice oblíbila. Ale ostatní mi byli úplně ukradení, a tak jsem přímo trpěla, když se tam objevovaly bubliny se strašně dlouhým textem. Ke všemu když se tam akorát řešily vztahy a jejich zamotanost. Tenhle a tamten miloval támhletu, ta milovalo tamtoho a tak dále. Tím se potom tak nějak vyřešilo všechno, což bylo dost neuvěřitelné. Ta láska se objevovala vážně všude, až to začínalo být nesnesitelné, jelikož nemůže být příčinou a průvodcem všech událostí.
Poslední výrazné mínus je, že nikdo nebyl ve skutečnosti zápornou postavou. Ze všech záporných postav se staly kladné, a nebo byly ukázány hrozně moc dobré "důvody," proč tomu tak je. Pokud teda nebudeme brát jako záporáky ty lidi, kteří stojí za Alice's Academy, neboť ti jediný byli zlí, neboť děti v ní vlastně uvěznili. Ale jelikož ani jeden z nich nebyl ukázán, tak se to nedá počítat.
Výše uvedená věc mi opravdu vadila. Vážně nemám ráda, takhle zkažený lidi, co myslí jen na sebe a na to, jak získat, co nejvíce peněz. Také si mi nelíbí to, jak ostatními opovrhují. Nechápu, proč jim ani nedovolili se vídat se svými rodiči. Jsem překvapená, že už dávno neudělali převrat. Protože bojovat proti zlu zevnitř, většinou moc nefunguje.
Abych jen příběhu něco nevytýkala, tak sem napíšu i nějaké klady. Nebo se o to aspoň pokusím. :D Největší plus bylo působení některých situací na mé emoce. Někdy v průběhu jsem byla opravdu emotivní, dokonce jsem uronila i pár slz. A u scének s Mikan a Natsumem jsem se culila jak malá holka. :D Pár věcí mě tu i pobavilo. A nic dalšího mě nenapadá. Ups...
Konec mi nijak zvlášť radost neudělal, jelikož je tam spoustu nelogických věcí, což mě štve. A celkově mi to přišlo celé divné
Anglické obálky se mi líbí o dost více než ty japonské. Vypadají víc elegantně a vznešeně. Na některých obálkách se mi ale nelíbí kresba postav/y.

Volume 9 is missing from my physical collection, so on we go to volume 10. I seem not to have missed a whole lot--there's maybe one or two mentions of things that happened recently, such as a Christmas episode, and now we've on to the New Year with its mochi pounding, New Year's postcards, and battledore.
The "garden of maidens" is an appealing setting for tensions and poisonous behavior to play out. I wasn't fond of how Mikan was treated there (of course), and I found the magnetic mochi to be a too-convenient way for Natsume to get on the "no boys allowed" premises and pursue his own agenda.
I know that a story can't exist without some sort of plot. Unfortunately, I'm bored whenever adults' machinations push aside the inventive magic and the schooldays aspects of this story. The masked man in particular makes me sigh inwardly whenever he shows up, since he feels more like a way to make Natsume into a tortured soul than an intriguing story element in his own right.
A short story set in the past of the school, featuring younger versions of Hotaru's brother (no recollection of his name), Narumi-sensei, and some other secondary or tertiary characters, rounds the volume out. I read it yesterday and can't remember a thing about it, as is my usual for shorter manga pieces.

The Natsume ship is sailing with this volume. Definitely sailing. Also, the author basically paired them... WHICH MAKES MY SHIP LIFE EASIER SO THANK YOU! Hotaru and Raku ftw. They're such an unlikely ship but HEY UNLIKELY SHIPS SOMETIMES WORK OUT TOO! (ex: Boys Over Flowers, Nisekoi False love - the side ship, Special A - the side ship, and others) Right now they're in the sketchy flower place... and some of the people there are TOTALLY discriminating against Mikan which is honestly NOT OK. Like, come on people. But this manga just raises MORE questions, which I feel like every volume does smhhh lol. But basically, the boy who danced with Mikan during that one ball MAY BE the principal... the elementary one at least. WHICH IS REALLY SKETCHY but at the same time... superrrr interesting. The elementary principal is like an elementary student too... Which is also very shocking. This manga continues to surprise me and bring fresh subplots. No wonder this series was under best shoujo manga of all time.

Abarca el 1 d enero, y si fiesta. Junto al cumpleaños de Mikan. Como todos se "olvidaron" gracias a eso pudimos ver una tierna interaccion entre Mikan y Narumi 💕. Van al palacio de las flores, es en este arco que se me olvidó y empezo a distorsionar la historia ya que en esa epoca habia alcanzado los scans y años mas tarde cuando quise retomar no sabia fe donde. También es de los arcos mas oscuros pero interesante. Cuanta con la historia corta de los principales siendo pequeñitos 🥺

C'est l'anniv de Mikan, le Nouvel An (triangle-amoureux bonsoiiir) et le banquet des "princesses-fleurs" lors duquel on rencontre une directrice très mystérieuse de l'Académie. L'ambiance y est mystique, mais les hôtes discriminants. M'enfin comme d'hab. Ce que je regrette, c'est que les décors ne soient pas plus présents que ça dans le manga. En général ce qui me fait lire une saga, est l'effort mis sur le dessin des paysages.

First time seeing natsume n ruka wearing woman kimono or something to headed to secret garden mansion n only girls are allowed to go in only. No boys allowed, too bad for teacher narumi n Tsubasa senpai had left outside.Natsume n mikan moment so cute. I want more story, to know what happened next. =)

I started my reread of Gakuen Alice a year ago and let it fall to the side. I want to pick up the series again so I can give it a proper reread so here I am. Luckily this is the beginning of a new arc. From here things only get darker as the mystery of the academy is slowly unveiled.

It has been a long time since I set down and read a very long manga. Yup, you’re not mistaken, there are 180 chapters and 31 volumes in total. Ns truth to be told I actually wanted it to continue, but maybe it will, in a spin-off series, I am still dreaming about that, but if t will, I’ll definitely put the notice on the blog.
But let me get back to the story. To say the truth it has been around a week since I started writing this review, and it’s only because there’s a lot that I want to say, but every time I want to normally start writing the idea slips my mind. I know, it’s so frustrating. Therefore, please do not be hard on me if my review today is too out of blue. I loved this story a lot. I was on the verge of dropping it a few times, but nevertheless the story’s intrigue was too high for me to drop it. Why did I want to drop it? Well, the answer is very simple and unfortunately it contains a major spoiler, but I will say it nevertheless. As you know there are 31 volumes and 180 chapters and in 179 of those our characters are still elementary school kids, the time is going very slow in the story. We finally see the 16 year old Mikan and Natsume only in the last chapter. Yes, that was the main reason why I was frustrated with the story. It covers so many problems, but because the solvers are 10-11 year olds it’s a bit unreal. The love that Mikan has to Natsume and he to her is too unreal for 11-yeal-olds. They truly love each other and trust me, from the part when Mikan leaves whom her parents are I was crying. I had to put away my tablet and compose myself to continue reading. The last 2 volumes are something that I believe everyone should focus their attention. Every emotions come bare, every secret, the author just takes a knife and thrusts it into our hearts.
I remember when I finished this story I couldn’t fall asleep and truth to be told I couldn’t read anything else for several days. All my thoughts were getting back to it. I was getting back and thinking everything over. I believe this is one of the stories that everyone should read. It covers so many human issues that if I start discussing each and every one of them it will take me days maybe even weeks to cover it.
All characters are fantastic and we see a lot of theirs development. Some characters stay as villains, but some do covert to a good side and trust me you want to be there to see it. I can say that all of them have left a deep impact on me. I still can’t agree to the choices that the principals made in the end. Better to say my mind understands, but my heart doesn’t want to acknowledge it. However, the moment when Natsume confessed to Mikan will be I my mind for a long time. I really need to make that list of best ever confessions. I am not a big fan of the whole fate thing, but here I was felt it from the beginning that’s why some moments shattered my heart.
I hope you will start reading this story. It did take me a long time to read, but I was reading it after 12 and that week was full of projects and exam preparations. In my normal days I would have finished it maybe in 2 full days. Are you ready to get to know great characters and also people because of whose ambitions lots of lives were sacrifices and many dreams destroyed. I think I've figured out my (latest) problem with this series that continues to frustrate me with its great potential and stumbling execution.
Tachibana Higuchi is writing both an epic fantasy and a school drama simultaneously and the petty moments of school drama are in stark contrast to the larger issues in the overall manga.
Those events just feel even smaller and pettier because of this contrast and destroy the overall mood. Things that would be serious in a school drama don't feel series in a larger series.

Eine meiner absolut liebsten Manga-Reihen, weil es nicht nur einen tollen Spannungsbogen besitzt, sondern weil die Charaktere sich auch Band um Band weiter entwickeln. Erwachsen werden, dazu lernen. Super schön dargestellt und wirklich angenehmer Zeichenstil. Inzwischen gibts auch einen Anime dazu, der aber im Vergleich zum Manga nicht so gut geworden ist und einen eher älteren Eindruck macht obwohl Alice Academy ein aktueller Manga ist.

Lol Natsume pretending to still be stuck with Mikan. XD haha! But i have a feeling that his sister is still alive and is actually in that place. The flower princess are creepy and Grr.. those girls are also annoying! Not letting Mikan eat and making fun of her! So mean. -.- good thing Natsume is there. :)

Definitely setting up for bigger things to happen in the next volume. I enjoyed the use of gossip and school-yard mentalities to set tone, particularly when it came to the rumors dealing with the Flower Garden Association. Looking forward to the next in the series, as always.

Seriously, this is so good. Sometime I hate myself for my ability to read slow. The anticipation for the next page literally have be flailing. Who's this Aoi? I wonder. Anyway, I can't wait to the next volume. Oh yeah, I liked the little Special Chapter at the end of this volume. Cute!

Gakuen Alice is such a cute little story. The exchanges between Natsume and Mikan are darling and of course Hotaru is hilarious as always. Can't wait for the next volume.

Comienzo a sentir los capítulos un poco pesados, entiendo que la trama se desarrolla lentamente, pero no estoy siendo partidaria de la forma en que enrumban los acontecimientos, la fiesta de las flores engloba todos los puntos negativos que siento en el manga, presenta personajes caricaturescos, rayando en la locura.
Lo bueno del capítulo definitivamente fue ver a Yoichi mas grande.
