Tachibana Higuchi (樋口 橘, HIGUCHI Tachibana), born 1976-03-16 , is a Japanese manga artist. In year 1996, she first made her debut work in Bessatsu Hana to Yume's 5th issue, entitled 5 Gatsu no Sakura (『5月のサクラ』?).

During an interview with Tokyopop, she gave a detailed account of how she started as a mangaka.

"I first submitted a manga story a while after I graduated from high school. Up until then I was studying for the entrance examinations for the Art University, and as part of that, I sometimes drew manga and four-panel strip comics for fun.

"Because I was conscious of the fact that I had started drawing manga in earnest at a later age, I think my progress during the beginning on drawing and storytelling techniques was fast as I frantically tried to absorb everything I could learn about creating manga. After the serialization of the story began, as I got busy, I was so desperate to submit it on time that I feel that the drawings probably haven’t improved much compared to before. During the serialization of the manga, I think my story telling techniques improved more as I concerned myself with how to catch the attention of the readers, how well one can incorporate what the readers are seeking into the story."

Really, I'm not a big fan of manga nor animes. I would rather watch local drama series than those things with pointy chin and square eyes. Scratch that. (Though I have watch and like a few-Jigoku Shoujo, Cardcaptor Sakura, and this, Gakuen Alice which is my all-time favorite) I can't even believe that I'm even reading mangas now! ;O

This volume focuses more of my boyfriend, Natsume Hyuuga's past which is awesomely awesome for me.
Chapter 65 seriously made me teary-eyed :S I mean, com'on!
This also what I would like to see in anime--I really hope there would be a season 2 of this -_-

Oh.My.Hyuuga! I seriously want to attack Ms. Tachibana for even bothering making this manga!
And making me sleep at past 12 in midnight just reading right to left and even fantasizing that I also have an alice
and part of the manga! o.o
Thank Hyuuga it's summer! I can't even imagine drooling at school and the teacher calling my attention o.o

Un 4/5 por esa gran amistad.

La historia del pasado de Natsume y Ruka englobo perfectamente todos los sentimientos que poseen, ver a Natsume con su familia hace más dolorosa su soledad.

Poder apreciar el Alice de Ruka direccionado a una fuerza de ataque fue genial, demuestra todo el potencial que tiene; en el caso de Mikan, siento que su Alice de anulación se esta quedando atrás, aunque en momentos claves la ayudaron, no se presenta tan grandiosa como la de los otros.

Esta batalla contra la clase de habilidades peligrosas es algo que no me había planteado, pero se presenta fascinante; solamente habíamos visto a Natsume y Yoichi de esa clase, así que conocer a los demás, abre mas el panorama y por lo visto no todos odian lo que hacen ahí.

Pěkná kresba, které se dá bohužel hodně věcí vytknout. Občas měly nějaké části těla divnou velikost, jež se prostě nedala přehlédnout, protože to bilo do očí. Také se zde vyskytoval výškový nepoměr mezi různými věkovými skupinami. Taktéž se mi zdálo mnoho postav velice vzhledově podobných, takže se pak hůře rozpoznávali a bylo jednoduché se v tom ztrácet. U tohohle mohu ale přimhouřit oči, jelikož tu bylo charakterů opravdu požehnaně. Abych tady nezmiňovala jenom zápory, tak musím říci, že se mi hodně líbily zjednodušené kresby, design školních uniforem a ostatního oblečení.

Příběh se mi líbil, a dokonce mě některé momenty dojaly až k slzám. Pomyslela jsem si, že je moc hezké vidět něco tak nezkaženého. S odstupem času jsem ale k celému ději o dost skeptičtější. A překvapilo mě, kolik vad jsem byla schopna nalézt. Avšak ještě divnější bylo, že jsem si příběh byla přesto schopna docela užít.

První vadou je věk postav. Nemyslím tím, že je špatné, že jim bylo okolo deseti, ale to, že na svůj věk byli v některých ohledech až moc vyspělí. Řekla bych, že většina ve všech ohledech, protože především hlavní hrdinka měla tendence se k někomu pořád lísat. A kdyby nebyla tak nízcí, klidně bych prohlásila, že jsou na střední škole. Především když vezmu to, jak byli Mikan a Natsume pokročilý ve svém vztahu. Jako neřekla bych, že vášnivé líbání patří k desetiletým dětem. Ke všemu když se ani šesnáctiletí (nebo kolik jim bylo :D) nedostali tak daleko.

Dalším mínusem byla až přílišná zamotanost příběhu. Což bych nebrala obvykle jako vadu, ale tady to bylo až přespříliš. Začalo to někdy za dvacátou kapitolou. Od té doby jsem byla mnohokrát zmatená a nevěděla jsem, o co jde. Když k tomu navíc připočítáme to, jak moc si jednotlivé postavy byly podobné. A za druhé mě to ani nezajímalo, jelikož nějaký svůj příběh měl skoro každý. To je normálně dobrá věc, neboť to dodává příběhu na důvěryhodnosti. Tady to akorát zbytečně natahovalo příběh o nezajímavé informace o nudný charakterech, a když vezmete v úvahu počet postav... Je to pak úmorné.

Vadou číslo 3 jsou nezajímavé postavy, když nepočítám tedy ty hlavní, ty jsem si velice oblíbila. Ale ostatní mi byli úplně ukradení, a tak jsem přímo trpěla, když se tam objevovaly bubliny se strašně dlouhým textem. Ke všemu když se tam akorát řešily vztahy a jejich zamotanost. Tenhle a tamten miloval támhletu, ta milovalo tamtoho a tak dále. Tím se potom tak nějak vyřešilo všechno, což bylo dost neuvěřitelné. Ta láska se objevovala vážně všude, až to začínalo být nesnesitelné, jelikož nemůže být příčinou a průvodcem všech událostí.

Poslední výrazné mínus je, že nikdo nebyl ve skutečnosti zápornou postavou. Ze všech záporných postav se staly kladné, a nebo byly ukázány hrozně moc dobré "důvody," proč tomu tak je. Pokud teda nebudeme brát jako záporáky ty lidi, kteří stojí za Alice's Academy, neboť ti jediný byli zlí, neboť děti v ní vlastně uvěznili. Ale jelikož ani jeden z nich nebyl ukázán, tak se to nedá počítat.

Výše uvedená věc mi opravdu vadila. Vážně nemám ráda, takhle zkažený lidi, co myslí jen na sebe a na to, jak získat, co nejvíce peněz. Také si mi nelíbí to, jak ostatními opovrhují. Nechápu, proč jim ani nedovolili se vídat se svými rodiči. Jsem překvapená, že už dávno neudělali převrat. Protože bojovat proti zlu zevnitř, většinou moc nefunguje.

Abych jen příběhu něco nevytýkala, tak sem napíšu i nějaké klady. Nebo se o to aspoň pokusím. :D Největší plus bylo působení některých situací na mé emoce. Někdy v průběhu jsem byla opravdu emotivní, dokonce jsem uronila i pár slz. A u scének s Mikan a Natsumem jsem se culila jak malá holka. :D Pár věcí mě tu i pobavilo. A nic dalšího mě nenapadá. Ups...

Konec mi nijak zvlášť radost neudělal, jelikož je tam spoustu nelogických věcí, což mě štve. A celkově mi to přišlo celé divné

Anglické obálky se mi líbí o dost více než ty japonské. Vypadají víc elegantně a vznešeně. Na některých obálkách se mi ale nelíbí kresba postav/y.

Est-ce que les plans d'adultes expérimentés sont détruits par des enfants armés du pouvoir de l'amitié? Oui. Est-ce que si les gentils et les méchants mettaient leurs plans à exécution au lieu de discuter tout irait pas mal plus vite? Encore oui. Est-ce que c'est la chose la plus mignonne et attendrissante que j'ai lu? ABSOLUMENT! Je suivrait encore 20 tomes de Mikan et ses amis qui font l'épicerie! Les enjeux semblent devenir plus grands et l'histoire semble s'accélérer mais j'en apprécie autant plus les moments de calme où l'on suit les enfants dans leurs quotidiens movementé. Comme pour les tomes précédents parfois je trouve l'organisation des planches un peu flou et je ne sais pas si je suis juste trop vieille pour cette série mais certains commentaire sont écrits bien trop petits! J'ai hâte de découvrir la suite, merci la soeur de les avoir achetés!

Finally natsume meet his little sister aoi n reunite with their father for so long n they hug each other. When ruka told mikan n hotaru about natsume story, how he meet him and end up in Alice academy. Mikan understand natsume story.That little evil principal, I have no idea what he's up to but what I know he's main target are Mikan n natsume n it get something to do with their parents n that evil kid principal past.

C'est en grande partie sur le passé de Natsume, Aoi et Luca, je comprends plus de choses. Le mystère autour de Persona est moins épais, je sens que je vais bientôt apprendre d'autres trucs sur lui et l'Académie. En tout cas on part plus dans du Shonen, ça c'est clair !

My favorite part of this volume was Hayate falling for Hotaru, who, seen through his love-struck eyes, looks like Sailor Mercury Cool Blue Sky. As usual, I'm fond of the brainless ones. :D The Natsume-Luca origin story was rather ho-hum by the numbers material, unfortunately.

I think the main reason I gave this book three stars instead of the usual four is that the layout was choppier than usual for me. I had a harder time differentiating characters (with the notable exception of Hotaru, who was totally HBIC this issue) and the introduction of the new characters wasn't as well-defined as usual. However, I did enjoy the reveal of Natsume's background, as well as his history with Luca-pyon (I can't help it, I feel compelled to add the "pyon" to Luca's name at all times.)

Eine meiner absolut liebsten Manga-Reihen, weil es nicht nur einen tollen Spannungsbogen besitzt, sondern weil die Charaktere sich auch Band um Band weiter entwickeln. Erwachsen werden, dazu lernen. Super schön dargestellt und wirklich angenehmer Zeichenstil. Inzwischen gibts auch einen Anime dazu, der aber im Vergleich zum Manga nicht so gut geworden ist und einen eher älteren Eindruck macht obwohl Alice Academy ein aktueller Manga ist.

While Luca and Natsume's origin, revealed in this volume, is touching and comparatively well done, it grinds the already awkward progress of the present story arc to a complete halt. Still I'll give it three stars for at least having some interesting character development

So it was Natsume's sister Aoi who caused the fire and not him. Not only did I read about Natsume's past in this volume but also read how heartbreaking it is to live his life. Ow, this hurts so much..
