Tachibana Higuchi (樋口 橘, HIGUCHI Tachibana), born 1976-03-16 , is a Japanese manga artist. In year 1996, she first made her debut work in Bessatsu Hana to Yume's 5th issue, entitled 5 Gatsu no Sakura (『5月のサクラ』?).
During an interview with Tokyopop, she gave a detailed account of how she started as a mangaka.
"I first submitted a manga story a while after I graduated from high school. Up until then I was studying for the entrance examinations for the Art University, and as part of that, I sometimes drew manga and four-panel strip comics for fun.
"Because I was conscious of the fact that I had started drawing manga in earnest at a later age, I think my progress during the beginning on drawing and storytelling techniques was fast as I frantically tried to absorb everything I could learn about creating manga. After the serialization of the story began, as I got busy, I was so desperate to submit it on time that I feel that the drawings probably haven’t improved much compared to before. During the serialization of the manga, I think my story telling techniques improved more as I concerned myself with how to catch the attention of the readers, how well one can incorporate what the readers are seeking into the story."
Her current ongoing work is Gakuen Alice.

I will NEVER get over the epicness of that horrible kiss (Oh, Natsume, you little jealous brat). Or Ruka and Natsume's conversation after. "YOU HAVE HORRIBLE TASTE IN WOMEN." "THEN SO DO YOU." "Well, I will not lose." "What are you saying? I didn't even think of winning." (YEAH, SUREEEE YOU DIDN'T, NATSUME.) Ahh, this volume just reminded me why I adore this manga.

La introducción de Nobara me ha gustado, me cae bien la chiquilla y supongo que los demás las evitan pq es la favorita de Persona? Idk girl, a ver si lo explican en el siguiente tomo. Hablando de ese cerdo... Que deje en paz a Tsubasa eh, stay away from him!!
Dejando de lado la amenaza del director a la Mikan durante el baile, este ha estado bien. El beso con el Natsume?? Damn no me lo esperaba y tampoco entiendo porque el triángulo (pero not rlly) se sigue formando... Es que no sé cómo va a salir eso, pero me conformo con que las amistades siguen bien y no está siendo un dramón ni nada, a ver si se mantiene así!
Ai y lo del Narumi... Pobrete, si yo fuera él le pegaba un par de tiros al Persona idk. Me callo ya pero es que lo que se llega a permitir en este colegio del demonio y lo que seguramente me queda x descubrir... Me pongo mal solo de pensarlo.

I continue to be frustrated by Tachibana Higuchi. She has a fascinating story here with some fun characters and her plots, by and large, are at a minimum, entertaining. But the storytelling (or translation) continues to be awkward and unclear.
I'll keep reading in hope that it gets better, but I'm beginning to despair of that ever happening.

Hodnotím 72% Jazyk: Aj
Pěkná kresba, které se dá bohužel hodně věcí vytknout. Občas měly nějaké části těla divnou velikost, jež se prostě nedala přehlédnout, protože to bilo do očí. Také se zde vyskytoval výškový nepoměr mezi různými věkovými skupinami. Taktéž se mi zdálo mnoho postav velice vzhledově podobných, takže se pak hůře rozpoznávali a bylo jednoduché se v tom ztrácet. U tohohle mohu ale přimhouřit oči, jelikož tu bylo charakterů opravdu požehnaně. Abych tady nezmiňovala jenom zápory, tak musím říci, že se mi hodně líbily zjednodušené kresby, design školních uniforem a ostatního oblečení.
Příběh se mi líbil, a dokonce mě některé momenty dojaly až k slzám. Pomyslela jsem si, že je moc hezké vidět něco tak nezkaženého. S odstupem času jsem ale k celému ději o dost skeptičtější. A překvapilo mě, kolik vad jsem byla schopna nalézt. Avšak ještě divnější bylo, že jsem si příběh byla přesto schopna docela užít.
První vadou je věk postav. Nemyslím tím, že je špatné, že jim bylo okolo deseti, ale to, že na svůj věk byli v některých ohledech až moc vyspělí. Řekla bych, že většina ve všech ohledech, protože především hlavní hrdinka měla tendence se k někomu pořád lísat. A kdyby nebyla tak nízcí, klidně bych prohlásila, že jsou na střední škole. Především když vezmu to, jak byli Mikan a Natsume pokročilý ve svém vztahu. Jako neřekla bych, že vášnivé líbání patří k desetiletým dětem. Ke všemu když se ani šesnáctiletí (nebo kolik jim bylo :D) nedostali tak daleko.
Dalším mínusem byla až přílišná zamotanost příběhu. Což bych nebrala obvykle jako vadu, ale tady to bylo až přespříliš. Začalo to někdy za dvacátou kapitolou. Od té doby jsem byla mnohokrát zmatená a nevěděla jsem, o co jde. Když k tomu navíc připočítáme to, jak moc si jednotlivé postavy byly podobné. A za druhé mě to ani nezajímalo, jelikož nějaký svůj příběh měl skoro každý. To je normálně dobrá věc, neboť to dodává příběhu na důvěryhodnosti. Tady to akorát zbytečně natahovalo příběh o nezajímavé informace o nudný charakterech, a když vezmete v úvahu počet postav... Je to pak úmorné.
Vadou číslo 3 jsou nezajímavé postavy, když nepočítám tedy ty hlavní, ty jsem si velice oblíbila. Ale ostatní mi byli úplně ukradení, a tak jsem přímo trpěla, když se tam objevovaly bubliny se strašně dlouhým textem. Ke všemu když se tam akorát řešily vztahy a jejich zamotanost. Tenhle a tamten miloval támhletu, ta milovalo tamtoho a tak dále. Tím se potom tak nějak vyřešilo všechno, což bylo dost neuvěřitelné. Ta láska se objevovala vážně všude, až to začínalo být nesnesitelné, jelikož nemůže být příčinou a průvodcem všech událostí.
Poslední výrazné mínus je, že nikdo nebyl ve skutečnosti zápornou postavou. Ze všech záporných postav se staly kladné, a nebo byly ukázány hrozně moc dobré "důvody," proč tomu tak je. Pokud teda nebudeme brát jako záporáky ty lidi, kteří stojí za Alice's Academy, neboť ti jediný byli zlí, neboť děti v ní vlastně uvěznili. Ale jelikož ani jeden z nich nebyl ukázán, tak se to nedá počítat.
Výše uvedená věc mi opravdu vadila. Vážně nemám ráda, takhle zkažený lidi, co myslí jen na sebe a na to, jak získat, co nejvíce peněz. Také si mi nelíbí to, jak ostatními opovrhují. Nechápu, proč jim ani nedovolili se vídat se svými rodiči. Jsem překvapená, že už dávno neudělali převrat. Protože bojovat proti zlu zevnitř, většinou moc nefunguje.
Abych jen příběhu něco nevytýkala, tak sem napíšu i nějaké klady. Nebo se o to aspoň pokusím. :D Největší plus bylo působení některých situací na mé emoce. Někdy v průběhu jsem byla opravdu emotivní, dokonce jsem uronila i pár slz. A u scének s Mikan a Natsumem jsem se culila jak malá holka. :D Pár věcí mě tu i pobavilo. A nic dalšího mě nenapadá. Ups...
Konec mi nijak zvlášť radost neudělal, jelikož je tam spoustu nelogických věcí, což mě štve. A celkově mi to přišlo celé divné
Anglické obálky se mi líbí o dost více než ty japonské. Vypadají víc elegantně a vznešeně. Na některých obálkách se mi ale nelíbí kresba postav/y.

DOUBLE REVIEW! Since I forgot all about volume 8... hehe
OK, THE SHIPPPPPPP! I'm actually high key depressed because I love Ruka soooo much... MIKANNNNNNN YOU LUCKY 10-YEAR-OLD! You have so many options at the age of 10 ugh. Also PETITION FOR MORE HOTARU! I adore Hotaru and Mikan's relationship and I NEED MORE OF THEIR SCENES. They're actually bff goals. Ok, but I seriously need to rant. So the boys have finally figured out their feelings, which of course the ever so dense Mikan has not picked up at all. I love that about her but at the same time, GIRLLLLLLLLLL. Mostly mad because someone like Ruka is obvious af, Natsume I understand. Ah, and volume 8/9 really cleared up Mikan's family situation. I think her dad is dead... I don't want to say that's for sure though... but he seems to be missing if he isn't. Her mom is in a sketchy situation... I don't REALLY know what's going on... other than the fact that they can't be together right now. But Mikan is slowly figuring out who they are and it's really cute and makes me want to root for her. Then again, I love Mikan in general so... Ah, the sensei (I forgot his name but his Alice is the pheromones one...) he is somehow a "traitor?" Sketchyyyyyyyy. He's a good person though...

Beautiful friendship in the air, love triangle - natsume, mikan n Luka. Mikan n Tsubasa moment. Hehehehe 😃There's also natsume n mikan moment or run a n mikan. tono n mikan so funny.The mystery evil principle evil scheme were up to n I bet they gonna make the plan work. My Narumi sensei, I wish narumi or other people who could healed narumi wound from mystery person who worked with mystery villain.Why I feel like teacher jinno- the lightning teacher wanted to pair Mikan n natsume at first but now Mikan,natsume n ruka on cleaning duty.

Continuing with my reread, I find this series to be really excessive and the characters are so over the top in the best way possible. I just love how flamboyant everything is. This is the Christmas volume, one of my favorites, because of our new character and the budding romance. This was a nice transition story from one plot/ intense arc to the other, but it was still really nice to read. Still loving this series!

Tout le tome est sur la fête de Noël, j'aime troooop !! Bon, le côté shojo on le voit beaucoup ici, mais comme ce sont des primaires, j'avoue me sentir gênée de ouf 😶 pour moi c'est fin de collège que t'es travaillé par les hormones, pas avant ! Mikan a une force de caractère impressionnante, très sensible mais solide, elle est parvenue à transformer une école injuste en véritable famille unie !!

Nah, waktu kuliah dulu kayaknya membaca sampai sini deh di taman bacaan.
Jadi ingat oasis taman bacaan bagi anak kuliahan. Sekarang sudah, jarang...
Lalu pas kerja, lanjut ngumpulin komiknya lagi.

This series is by far the cutest shoujo series I have ever followed. I'm glad that it's still ongoing in Japan because it means a lot more goodness to look forward to, but I'm also frustrated because the wait for each volume release feels tediously slow.
As for this volume: I loved it, and I couldn't put it down. Tachibana Higuchi excels with her humor and her characters' interactions. And, while everything seems light and happy on the surface, the sinister undertones of the series continue to develop (but, do we expect any less with Persona on the cover of this volume?). This is such a delightful series - I'm so glad I found it. Looking forward to volume 10 early next year.

I have to admit, this manga is addicting. I find myself going to the library every day just to pick up around five to six volumes. This is my first time reading a kiddy manga because I usually get annoyed when really young children get romantic. But, these "kids" seem like young adults and I can't help but fall in love with both Natsume and Luca. But, unfortunately, only one can go with Mikan!!! WHO WILL IT BE?!?! I keep wavering. But, my final answer is Natsume. I guess Natsume's cool character of not showing much expressions on his face makes him more mysterious and handsome. Whereas Luka, sings to animals and is a rather "cute" person.

Ibaragi Nobara-chan seems like a nice person. She has the ice alice. Like Natsume, i think she just want to have the warmth of friends and happiness but Persona is getting on the way. -.- ugh! Hahaha! The Imai siblings are so alike. So weird. XD lol Youichi is so cute! Him playing with Bear! Waah so kawaii ♡ and that part when Youichi kissed Mikan on the cheek as thanks! Then Ruka kissed the other cheek! Waaah! :"> haha! Natsume saying Mikan was a lousy kisser to people nearby even though they havent really kissed yet that time. =)))) then he really did kiss Mikan for real on the tree. Gaaaah! WTH! 10 years old having their 1st kiss already. T.T how sad is my life? Haha 3

Eine meiner absolut liebsten Manga-Reihen, weil es nicht nur einen tollen Spannungsbogen besitzt, sondern weil die Charaktere sich auch Band um Band weiter entwickeln. Erwachsen werden, dazu lernen. Super schön dargestellt und wirklich angenehmer Zeichenstil. Inzwischen gibts auch einen Anime dazu, der aber im Vergleich zum Manga nicht so gut geworden ist und einen eher älteren Eindruck macht obwohl Alice Academy ein aktueller Manga ist.

I have a huge soft spot for Sakura Mikan, as well as for the author, Tachibana Higuchi, with her adorable sidebars. And while poor Mikan does get involved in romantic shenanigans over the Christmas Ball, true love reigns in the end. I did like the introduction of the Ice Princess, and think she would be a much more worthy suitor for Mikan's affections than those silly boys :P.

Can I just say...Natsume and Makin are meant to be! Despite the sweetness between her and Luca...Makin has a more powerful connection to Natsume...and that's a fact!
