"If you don't like talking fruit and animals, what are you, insane?" —Jack Handey ( Deep Thoughts ) From Minty Lewis of Cartoon Network's Regular Show comes the Ignatz Award winning PS Comics . They might be strawberries or terriers, but they're the drunken coworkers, troubled classmates, and vindictive roommates that haunt everybody.
Melanie "Minty" Lewis was raised with an army of small dogs in Northern Virginia. Since then, she has moved to California, enlisted a small pet army of her own and started self-publishing PS Comics. She draws her inspiration from apples, yorkies, jerks and nerds.
4/24/21: Still a total gem! There's something immediately funny about making all of your characters fruit or Yorkies and Minty's droll sense of humor and fine sense of character just take it all to the next level. Sadly, she left comics several years ago but we'll always have this little book. 5/5.
8/2/09: These unique comics are smart, subtle and very funny (as well as rather poignantly sad). My fave is still "Donuts for Lunch," a mini-masterpiece of office social dynamics featuring uncannily real, uncomfortable characterizations. As a bonus, it is very fun to say this author's name.
I just reread this and I loved it even more six years after my first reading. Minty Lewis has such a dry humor; her timing and satire are right on. Her characters are so ridiculous, terrible and lovable at the same time. Highly recommended.
Very cute and a nice read. It's like reading a comic strip on the Newspaper. I would recommend this to someone but would tell them to read only a comic a day because it can enlighten their entire day.
