Ever have one of those days when you aren't sure which side of the pen you're on?
When Julianne writes a violent role in her play for her shy crush Leslie, she imagines she's letting him act out his secret desires. But the character she writes turns out to be more than her awkward classmate can handle and her words lead to tragedy. As the narrative peels back to reveal other angles and the layers of storytelling unravel around them, only one question Who is The Author ?

This book is ambitious in it's premise, which is a blurring of the boundaries between art and reality; characters and authors; what is real and what is not. Hillary DePiano has a wonderful sense of her phrasing, and does a comendable job of playing with the edges of realities. I got confused at times (who is Bill? / maybe it doesn't matter...), but in a way that was part of the fun of reading this book
I've never read anything by Hillary DePiano......... I won a copy of this book in a giveaway. It was an awesome novella. I couldn't put it down! As an added bonus, she signed the copy I received :-) I definitely recommend this book to people who LOVE page-turners. Thumbs up!
I enjoyed the first two parts. After that I was a little lost for a bit after each new part started. It was well written. I just didn't enjoy the "Twilight Zone" feel of the strange and bizarre with twists. I kept waiting for everything to tie together more, but it just continued on, added more characters. Overall, not a bad book, just not one I was expecting.
