One Eye Open by K.G. Lewis 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 A book of 16 entertaining and creepy short stories! All of the stories were different and original. I enjoyed all of the stories, but a few of my favorites were:
•Small World •Table for Two •Say it Sally •Water Treatment Plant •Viral Video •One Eye Open
I listened to the audio version and the narrator did a fantastic job! I recommend grabbing the audio of this book for a great listen to these well written stories!
This is my first book from this author and I’m excited to check out more!!
As someone without lots of time to really sit and read I love to pick up a book of short stories and dive in. Often I find myself putting them down without finishing but I read this collection cover to cover. Each story is a fully formed journey into worlds like our own, but not quite. The twists kept me guessing, a few even made me laugh, and some of the final images really stuck with me after putting the story down.
With such a selection of horror and sci-fi themes there is something for everyone here. Whether you want robots, monsters, demons or to see the future you will find something of interest in these pages. Some tales are more in your face while others make you think but all of them will deliver the creep factor.

The stories are well written and original. I am going to look for other books written by K. G. Lewis. I would recommend this book to everyone. I enjoyed every story.
Great book and great characters. Very good stories. It's hard to find a book of short stories that have all good stories, some scary sometimes funny. I really enjoyed this book and recommend it to everyone. Hope to read more of your work.Thank you.
One Eye Open is a collection of awesome short stories! I really enjoyed the writing style of the author, and didn't stop reading until I finished the whole book!

This has to be the best book of short stories I have ever read. First being they were short, they were all very creepy and interesting. It's a small world, floating fish, old phones, they were all great!
Reason for the 4 Stars it's because I didn't like the last story. It felt Not really well. If you like a quick read This book is for you. I don't give spoiler the Away but I would recommend this book to anyone. I give this book 4 one eye open out of 5
An entertaining collection of stories, some quite imaginative. I would recommend it to anyone who's looking for something in the genre that's a little different.
I'm not going to spend a lot of time on this review other than to confirm that this is now a candidate for my own "Worst Book Read in 2024" listing. And the only other book on my list so far was B-A-D in every way! Sadly though, "One Eye Open" was an absolutely boring and unengaging collection of what I can only label middle-age grade suitable "spooky" stories, none of which came even close to anything resembling horror. In fact, I was keeping notes up until about Chapter 8 but because each one of my summaries was a repeat - "amateurish writing style, not even slightly interesting, abysmal editing" - I quickly decided to just save my time. Which was a smart decision as these aspects just got worse and worse as the pages slogged by. What a shame to waste such a great cover (the one shown on Amazon, not here) on such a poor collection.
My proposal would be: first, have someone who knows the difference between "your" and "you're" as well as how to punctuate and capitalize correctly when someone is speaking re-edit this entire book. This means getting someone with a grasp of (as a few examples only) what a fragment is, how to avoid the random use of commas, and where to look for the dozens of missing fullstops to clean things up. Quite bluntly put, a book should not be released in this form whether from a major publishing house or from someone using Kindle Vella to try and gain an audience. Secondly, remove any excessive violence and/or the presence of other bodily harm, then replace all curse words and finally, repackage this as a collection for kids/young adults. It's a LOT closer to that already than it is to being a book suitable - and interesting - for adults.
Especially loved "Holiday Acres" and the "Sky is falling". These two were especially entertaining to me. Thank you for writing. I have to find the book before this one.
This was a pretty good collection of mostly horror shorts. Imaginative premises and for the most part they don’t suffer from the horror story problem of the scare finally arrives right as the story ends.
Short stories, but these were okay. More for teen, pre-teen or campfire telling than for an adult read. I won't be reading any more of these. Also, with short stories, there should be zero typos and there were several in this compilation
I like the writing style but it's too strange and seems weirdly geared towards children but too adult to be for children. But I imagine a child might find these stories quite amusing.
