Summer, sunshine, and a lovely beach...Lilly couldn't have asked for a better way to relax during her pregnancy together with her hot billionaire husband. Except maybe for the little problem of them being shipwrecked.

No water. No supplies. No hope of rescue.

Now it is Mr. and Mrs. Ambrose against the jungle. All that is missing is a sinister plot and some bloodthirsty pirates...

About the author

Robert Thier

Robert Thier is a German historian, lover of old books and award-winning writer, whose novels and stories encompass the historical, satirical, and fantastical. For the way he manages to make the past come alive, as if he himself lived as a medieval knight, his inventive fans have given him the nickname “Sir Rob.” All of his stories are characterized by his very own brand of humor that has gained him a diverse readership ranging from teenagers to retired grandmothers.

For Robert, becoming a writer followed naturally from his interest in history. “In Germany,” he says, “we use the same word for story and history. And I've always loved the one as much as the other. Becoming a storyteller, a writer, is what I've always wanted.”

Besides writing and researching in dusty old archives, on the lookout for a mystery to put into his next story, Robert enjoys classical music and long walks in the country. The helmet you see in the picture he does not wear because he is a cycling enthusiast, but to protect his literary skull in which a bone has been missing from birth. Robert lives in the south of Germany in a small village between the three Emperor Mountains.

AHHHHHHHH THEY FINALLY HAVE A BABY.

While i do absolutely love this series and author, i feel like the books have become very repetitive.

4.5*

This book of the series finally catches up to the adventure. On that front, it was amazing.
There was plotting, plot twists, fun, spunk, everything. The tryst with the pirates and the time the couple spent in a pirate camp, Lachance, and the overall story was marvellous.
The fist fights and Mr. Ambrose's adventures all over the Caribbean were fun to read, and especially seeing him establish himself as the "to watch out for amazing pirate captain". ☠️
Can you actually order pirates to sink Dalgliesh's ships though? They turn from blood-thirsty, money-hungry, unruly horde to order following brigade of amazingly helpful pirates? Doubtful...?

What didn't really work is the first quarter of the book. The sex and kissing and love-making overshadowed what Lillian and Mr. Ambrose set out to do. It felt like a stretched out version, and highly repetitive. Wherever the story lacked, Lily and Rikkard keep kissing and making out! At times, it just felt a little too much, and didn't really go with the plot (unless the writer was aiming for comedy fiction, in which case, it worked wonders).
This part also had some unbelievable parts, well researched (the coconut bit: I'd no idea 😳 you could open them with your hands), but a few seemed far fetched. An almost dying Lily, carrying a big man Rikkard to a cave. Mr. Ambrose surviving poison without even adequate water (Mind you, Lillian just poured drops of water, first from the cup of her hand, and then squeezed from scraps of her dress). That part did not make much sense!

The last part that didn't really fit together was Lillian's anger towards the man who tried to drown her child. Her anger is justified, her thirst for revenge too. But the highly repetitive nature of pointing it out, every time they find a clue; it became a little too boring. Same way of paraphrasing it made this one worse.

trs walaupun ada pov dari org lain, tp itu pov karim, jd i dont mind reading about him msh lucu gt loh. yaaaaa gt deh

OK NOW THIS IS AN IMPROVEMENT. having them being shipwrecked was one of the best decisions Sir Rob has ever made. Dilf Rickard was EVERYTHING. I laughed, i cried, and even had to scream in my pillow from time to time hehe

Slowly, very slowly, Mr Rikkard Ambrose rose from behind the bush he was using as cover. Sidling around the edge of the clearing till he was right behind the three furry beasts, he stalked forward without making a single sound until he was only a few feet behind them, and then...

He struck!

The spear flew, hitting one of the animals with unerring accuracy and skewering it from one end to another.

When i tell you-- this is, single handedly, the hotest thing Rickkard Ambrose has ever done in all 8 books . Forget about him being the most powerful business mogul of the British Empire in 1800's London, i wanna see my man channeling his inner caveman and run around the forest with a spear in his hand.

Recommended: Obviously... It's a must-read series for romance (with Adventure) lovers in my opinion.

Thoughts:

- It's so hard to contain my glee and excitement that I had to stop reading for a moment just as soon as I started.

- Karim. Lmfao. whenever there's a conversation/interaction between Lily and Karim, there's going to be laughter. I bet ya.

- I was a laughing mess as soon as the book started. And it's only the first chapter. I missed Lily's antics. The camel Ambrose LMFAO!

- Oh how I missed Mr. Ambrose in all his adequateness.

- Handbook for Villainous Newlyweds? Lmfao!

- Lilly and pregnancy hormones! that, ought to be good.

- Okay, I know there might be a lot of things mentioned that might seem questionable in that historical time... But I don't care much. I loveeee it.

- Loveeeeeeeeeeeeeee Fence.

- Mr. Ambrose high! Omfg...I am literally rolling on the ground from laughing.

- The parrot! omg!!!!!!!

- Ambrose rocks. Opss... I mean the real Dicky Darling.

- Mr. Ambrose is still so mysterious and hot. Not me totally imagining Chris Hemsworth as his face and ehm.. body. Nope, not at all.

- Not a single chapter where I did not laugh. this book is hilarious. More so than others maybe. oh my gosh, my cheeks hurt. Man, I love this series.

- My goshhhhhhh you can't do this to me... The cliffhanger omggggggggggggggg... I need the next boooookkkkkkkkkkkkkk.

- I tried so hard to read it as slowly as I could but damn this book is so gooood.

This is how I felt as I read the entire book.

Seriously, an 8th book? Honestly, they should've called it quits at 6. The series wrapped up perfectly then. No need to push it any further.
