Marion Keymis feels like an old woman at fifty-five. She’s been married, owns her own coffee shop but lacks love except for her enthusiastic Dachshund, Beans.
Gina Mavenbury is a successful romance author in her prime at forty-five but she’s alone since suffering a tragic lost love.
Will a spilled cup of coffee and a racy story idea give the pair a spark to caffeinate the energy between two lovers or will age, dogs and flaming coffee machines block love? Find out in this fun, emotional and slightly steamy Christmas sapphic novella from Chloe Keto.
This is a companion holiday novella to “Ransom to Love” so you’ll meet some familiar characters but it can be read as a standalone.
Chloe Keto is a new author but a longtime passionate fan of the romantic WLW genre. She lives at home in the south of England with her wife and two nearly teenage football loving children. She believes that all stories can be improved with a good dose of romantic magic!
If you have read Chloe‘s Ransom To Love you will definitely remember Marion and are probably as happy as I was to see her finding her own happy ending.
And who could be better for a happy ever after than a romance author. Gina didn’t have an easy time after losing her wife a few years ago. Having lost her wife but still writing romance stories definitely is a huge challenge. I definitely had wet eyes a few times and just wanted to hug her. But no worries the story is mostly sweet and not sad at all. It’s actually a story of hope and like I already said just sweet.
I also loved Chloe‘s humour and how she added the development of a romance story. I definitely had a wonderful time reading this story.
I don't do spoilers but I will say Chloe has a great sense of humor that permeates all her characters - people you would love to sit and chat with. This is a wonderful short story that leaves the heart feeling warm, great for the holidays or anytime.
I'm new to this author but I'll be sure to read more! She writes well and the characters are well developed and awesome . There is just everything to love in this story. More mature main characters but no matter how "grown up" we all are we still have some insecurities to deal with. It's a nice quick read, I like that.
A sweet, HOT age gap novella of two older woman falling in love. This is a companion to the book Ransom To Love. We met Marion in Ransom and in here she finds love. Gina is a sapphic author who discovers the coffee shop Marion's, and is enchanted by Marion. This takes place at Christmas time. We also revisit Teri! 5 stars!
Well. This book is the second in series (will there be more?) by Chloe Keto. It is a novella so is quite short. This one features Marion, a 55 year old and Gina, a 45 year old. I liked the fact that the story centred on 'older' women as so much of sapphic literature tends not to - apart from age gap romance. The characters discuss whether 10 years is an age gap as one of them is of course a sapphic romance writer! It addresses the issue of bereavement - as in romance books the only reason a person is single at that age is because the love of their life has died. But they discuss their past history and relationships, and normalise 'messy' lives and meeting someone and falling in love in your 50s. It is also set in December so is a Christmas book too - yet I read it in March and it didn't feel odd. I really enjoyed it.
Loved it! It's nice to read about mature characters. Those of us over 50 (or well over 50) are still active, vibrant, engaging and romantic. Yes, a fairy godmother might be just what's called for!
Gina and Marion accidental meeting turn these two to true love. Beautiful short story, well written easy to follow and a good pace. Has drama and comedy. Recommended.
