She survives on hard work, hope, and ingenuity, realizing she’s thriving, too. Even the farmhand, Carter, gives her life a new, special meaning. However, when strange occurrences, disembodied voices, and a frightening white creature make themselves known, Maggie not only has to battle an age-old spell, but she comes face to face with her worst nightmare of all--Jesse.
This was an interesting read with romance, suspense and a little bit of twists and turns.
I enjoyed the romance in this novel, although I will say the pacing seemed a bit off at times.
The tension with the ex and his mysterious appearances was really nerve racking, however as soon as I got amped up and ready for something to happen the conflict would die down.
I wish the suspense would have been more consistent and kept building, at times this book felt slow because not enough conflict was going on.
The best friend in this book had me so annoyed I could have strangled her- truly emotion evoking.
Overall it was enjoyable, but it took me awhile to read as I would put it down and pick it back up later when the plot felt slower.
